  1. Gud day,

I am married to a Jamaican immigrant on a Cr-1 2yr visa, and I brought his son to the United States as well. I put him out for being a community #######, and sleeping with several women, and inviting them to my home. I also have been belittled, and verbally disrespected continuously. My question is him and his son no longer live with me, and I understand I am financially responsible. But, how far does the physical liability go, as far as providing residence, their whereabouts and what not have to do with my responsibility.

I ask because I reached out to 3 lawyers all saying different things, and based on what congress is saying, immigration told them I am legally binded to him and his son all the way based on the I-864. Is this correct? Help. please, he's been here for almost a year and him and his son have caused so much confusion and drama, his sister even treating to call dcf on me bcuz he dropped his son off to her teenagers to babysit without her knowledge. She says that we are both responsible.

She sent a letter to USCIS last May, but nothing happened so she made an infopass appointment and told the I.O about it, he told her the NBC did not forward her letter, but it is good she came to them before the green card interview, he told her to go and protect her Self and child .. yes she filed for divorce while he was living in her house, and He stayed for 3 Days and she thinks that his lawyer told him not to go back , because he left all his stuff at home and sent someone to call her next day and say that he is not coming back because his life is in danger and he is scared and filed for VAWA and he will never give her divorce.. Thier divorce court was last week, but he didn't show up, and his lawyer said he can'T Reach him ,because his phone is broken abd he is out of town, so they postpond it and rescheduled it one month later..

Wow  that's insane. I think my husband is trying to play the victim card purposely like that to say his life is so hard and he's going through so much turmoil by turning everything around on me and starting arguments when he is wrong for his behaviour as a husband and father. I filed a fraud complaint and will go from there. Hopefully they help and investigate.

So I'm looking for advice on what options I have? My husband came here on  K-1 and he's approaching his 2yrs. But for the past year I have noticed changes in his behavior. A couple of months after he came he went to visit some family in a different state and when he came back i discovered he was attempting to hook up with a friend of someone in the family (of course he denied). I tried to move past that but i couldn't trust him. Fast forward we have been having issues mainly supposedly infidelity. He has made some friends at work and around but although he mentions them by name he has never introduced me personally and I had went through our phone records and discovered he was talking to a female at odds hours. When confronted, he told me and everyone that it was a friend then turned around and got ano extra phone # which he didn't give to me(we'r on the same.plan). Since the 1st incident he doesn't let me havery access to his phone ( based on principles). We did have an incident after the last argument where I threw his things out due to anger and disappointed. Our families have tried to intervene but he tells them I'm too jealous and that when he was coming we had agreed that we were only going to "try". We barely talk and I recently asked if he was happy, he replied "I don't know". I  would not have spent my time and money to "try". He also let it slipped that he has been documenting everything that has happened. I know most will suggest a divorce but I'm not in the financial space right now to be able to.afford one and I believe he is only waiting to get his permanent GC to leave.

Omg, we are in the same exact boat. a few weeks after my husband came here he went to see and started hanging out heavy with a sibling who did not respect our union and without me of course and she tried to hook him up. I also found out he was writing and recording certain conversations, surrounding disagreements, and private with his phone as well. What it balls down to is they're trying to CYA in case they have to file for their 10 year without you and make you look like the bad person so they can stay in the states. Its not fair and even if you divorce you are financially responsible for that person. Please inbox me on how you moved forward. I'm curious to see the process as I have been weighing my odds to protect myself from the headache of having to keep in contact with a divorced partner for 5 yrs. with the hopes he gets his citizenship. Also, follow your intuition, please.

    LMAO! Detective...

I agree with the link that was posted. I am currently married to a Jamaican on a CR-2 and I filed for him and his 7 year old. When he arrived everything was good, buthe falls into the category of the type who wants to be free and have fun. I came also to realize he didn't have my back when his sister insulted both of us and he continued to link up with her although me and y children weren't invited. But, the red flags were all there, sometimes we tend to igore it. Don't ignore or accept foolish behavior. Don't be belittled, some of them want to come for a good life, report you as abusive and push you over the edge, divorce you, and then move on and have fun. Also beware of the baby thing, because some of them want to have a baby so when they go to adjust it proves they married you with good intent, and not scam. But, I have had Jamaicans who treated me like a queen and did right, so not all are alike but beware, please and make him go half if you decide to file.

I've been wondering if there is anyone in a similar situation with case status been stuck on ready for over a month now ??

    Is this normal ??

I am in the position. I email and call and keep getting the same canned response, your case is being reviewed. I am not certain its normal seeing as though its been 2 months of them reviewing the additional documents they requested so I contacted congress

  6. Think they mean 37hr work week perhaps, instead of 40.

OP I think you will need a cosponsor. Unless the UK fiancé makes enough in pure savings for self-sponsorship (which London has been known to allow). Keep in mind after marriage though you'll need to file for AOS, in which the more stringent 125% poverty guideline and supporting evidence will come into play (instead of 100% which London can accept).

London can accept an I-134 with a work letter from the boss or HR alone, instead of a tax transcript of course. But you'd still need to be making enough money. If you had a great deal of savings or assets you could combine. Otherwise in exhausting those possibilities (or finding another job) a cosponsor would be most likely.

Agreed because we are in CR-1 and my current income is above the poverty level, but based on the last 3 years tax return we are required to have a joint sponsor.

  7. Right smh, my husband didn't get his name either. But my husband forgot to give him all the paperwork like he was supposed too (Men) lol. But we got the stuff sent off today by DHL. So hopefully they'll get on Monday and review it. Cause we already he a plane for him to come for Christmas.

Same here my husband didn't give all the paperwork either and just keep checking your case status to look at the date change so u can tell when they receive it. We did the same thing sent in everything they requested and what the nvc requested, but they neglected to ask for. Hope u do get thru b4 Christmas that would be a wonderful present. Up up.

  8. He said the guy was Chinese and was a ###. He said he was the same guy that interviewed him when he tried to get the B1 visa.

OMG dats di same mon wa interview mi husband an son. Yo, di mon just ignorant di same mon, him nuh wa people reach no weh. Like him ave sumtin against immigrants. Mi wa him name, but mi husband never tek it. Somebody needs to report him.

  9. Well not so good news ?. My husband went for the interview and he texted me back and said that we needed another cosponsor. Because my son I 864a wasnt enough to sponsor. But his paperwork goes along with mine. We have a actual Co sponsor that works 3 jobs and make more than me. I asked did he give the AOS documents to him and he said the guy wouldn't take them. They also want my wedding pics which is fine cause I have some. So now I emailed the embassy to see exactly what it is that they need or what.

Same here I am over income, but they said we need a joint sponsor and the nvc requested I bring n a corrected I-864 with the checklist to the interview, but they didn't take it. JA Embassy is not doing right at all and by chance was the interviewer a Chinese man?

  10. Awww, sorry to hear this news as I was rooting for you. I was wondering the same about the dead aunt? What made them ask about that? I don't know much about sponsors but I hope you can take care of that and continue the process quickly. Stay the course!

Never mind, I see where you say from the call logs. Hope everything works out for you soon.

Wi ave a 221G and all the necessary forms, but we are still given the run around. One minute they say bring in the documents, and the top portion says send certain documents through DHL and schedule an appointment to bring in proof of relationship. But, the appointment unit says send everything through DHL and my husband has already taken the passport and certain documents in.

  11. Well its the same thing happen to my husband they say i need a joint sponors bt i made over the amount nvc approve it all n kingston denied it am so stress out it was at AP on the 26 of june now it a say ready since the first. My question is why kingston doing this to ppl life cuz the document r there they just ave to look. N the delay is so stressful i cnt wait for this to b over. They ave his passport but ntn yet

Omg, the same ting happen to us I am over the income limit and they are asking for a joint sponsor. How did you proceed and did you guys send all the forms through DHL or make another appointment.

  12. Wow sorry about your delay. Just get an additional sponsor asap. I wonder how did the know about your great aunt-did she file for someone?

probably from the call log. Can I just wait until tax time and submit my most recent tax form rather than get a joint sponsor? I thought if my current income is enough and has been consistent for over a year the last few years of my taxes are not a problem?

They are saying I need a joint sponsor and need to come in person, because they asked about my dead great aunt's name and he didn't know it. Mind me there are 8 relatives that passed back to back and I never told him names just said my aunt passed, and my cousin passed.

    We're on AP.

  13. Did they put you on AP? Or requested a joint sponsor? Ill suggest to get a joint sponsor. I saw your timeline says interview today.

  14. Cograts to all those getting interview dates. To those who have already interview, and I know its been asked, but do we have to register prior to being interviewed online. I saw the following on NVC. If so, whose name should we put the beneficiary or petitioner?

Step 2: Register for Courier Service/Other Pre-Interview Instructions

Many U.S. Embassies and Consulates require visa applicants to pre-register for courier services. This service is for returning applicant passports and visas to them after the interview. Each consular section also has unique entry and security requirements, including whether applicants can bring cell phones into the embassy or consulate. Before your interview, read the specific requirements for where you will be interviewed. Select the city of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate from the box below:
