  1. I'm so beyond frustrated with this stupid process.  NVC is an absolute joke.

    Scan date 11/7

    Supervisor review 12/21

    Checklist 1/4

The checklist is for documents they already have.  Their document reciprocity in their system is outdated.  It's for my husband's divorce decree.  They want it form the registrar office.  The registrar office website even says they don't have them and to get them from the county court where it was done, which we had and sent with original documents.

I have tried calling several times a day and demanding to speak with a supervisor.  I have explained the situation to various reps and they note it in the system.  Yesterday I let them go ahead and send it back to the supervisor for review even though I know that could take another 6 weeks.  I can't get a supervisor to even call me back as I requested that last week.

I feel like we're stuck and life is passing us by.

I'm filling out the paperwork to send to the senator and see if their office can help

Its been almost 10 weeks and my application is still at NVC. It was placed on a supervisor list Dec 16. I have tried calling NVC and they are not taking phone calls. I still do not have an appointment date. Has anyone else had this problem or know what I should do?

Keep calling.  When it's like that I just hang up and call right back.  I usually get through after a few tries.

This is a common problem with U.K. divorce decrees. Because they are not signed, USCIS and NVC employees (some, but not all) don't accept them as the real deal final decree absolute.

When I sent mine to USCIS and NVC I circled the part bottom right that says "decree absolute". You're not the first to have this problem. I would demand to speak to someone with experience of UK divorce decrees and who knows they are not signed and there is no registrar record.

Thank you for your advice JFH!  Good to hear from you.  I will do just that.  I really want to avoid resetting that 6 week clock.

  4. Ok.   Just spoke with NVC again.  They are saying that my husbands divorce decree form is not what they need - even though it's what uscis needed and we sent a letter form the court saying that it was the official document.

I'm waiting for a supervisor to call me back so I can discuss it with them.

Anyone from the UK have this happen to them?  Apparently the registrar office only issues death and birth certificates and divorce documents are issued from the court that handled the divorce and nvc seems to think they should come from the registrar office as well.

Do you have a copy of your submission? You should contact your senator, explain the situation, and send them all your information so they can make an inquiry on your behalf and make NVC fix their mistake!!

I do.  I'm on hold with NVC again right now.  I'm beyond frustrated.  I was so shocked last night that I didn't know what to even say.  I'm going to demand to speak with a supervisor so that they can look at it while I'm on the phone with them.  We had the same problem with USCIS that they didn't want to accept his divorce decree because they didn't think it was the final absolute one.  We had to get a letter from the court explaining that it was in fact the decree absolute.  I sent the letter to NVC also.

I'm just at the end of my rope here.  I thought we were almost at the end of this process.

  7. I'm completely distraught.  Just got off the phone with NVC.  Apparently we'll be getting a checklist.  She said my husband's divorce decree was missing.  I looked through the packet 100 times.  I made sure it was there and listed it on a sheet on the front.  I checked and double checked and triple checked.

She said she would have  a supervisor pull it to look again.  But, that will take up to another 6 weeks.  Even if I go ahead and overnight another copy of it, that will give us a new scan date and reset that damned 6 week clock.

I'm not doing well right now.  I need Tylenol and bed.

I was crying down the phone at them today. I couldn't contain it when she told me that they had no evidence of me having submitted my DS-260 in early October, that it was only submitted on December 8th. Then how is it possible I got a checklist before the 8th!?! She was giving me the spiel about not being able to put me in supervisor review until 6 weeks is up! :o I couldn't believe what she was saying, I've been told I'm on supervisor review already! I even spoke to a supervisor last week!

Oh no!  Did you ask about speaking with a supervisor?  I would insist on speaking with one.  Did you print out the confirmation page for the ds260?  You might even want to consider getting the state senator involved at this point.

NVC has become grossly negligent of late.

    NVC is S...

    Scan Date: november 23

Completed 6 weeks today. Dialed nvc and they said we received your second mail on December 19. So your 6 weeks time starts from 19th and we will review both packs by Feb 1.

Ok the funny part is we never sent any second mail to them and they are not even ready to tell me wat that 2nd mail pack has inside.

So m feeling like a dumb. :jest:

I would be terrified right now if I were you!!  LOL.  NVC is an absolute joke.  I would for sure be calling back repeatedly until I spoke with a supervisor about that.

So my hubby called nvc this morning to get put on superviser review as our 6 weeks is now up and he said the woman on the phone was rude, I won't write the other word that he said she was.....

as many already know what they can be like when you call.  She said that it was being reviewed and that was all she said, so not sure quite what that means??

Are they just stringing us along as with many others or are they actually working on our file?  Am hoping with everything crossed that they are actually doing what we have paid them to do!!

I think they are just stringing us all along.  They tell us whatever will get us off the phone fastest.  Last week the rep got me all psyched up by telling me that they were waiting on the final update on my case and they should have it soon as the system updated.  I went nuts that whole day checking the site for nothing.  Later in the day when I called back the rep told me the standard issue answer that it was in the review department.

Last night, the rep said that she could tell in the system that the ds260 had started to be downloaded once it went into supervisor review.  Ummm, hello....it's been in supervisor review for 2 weeks today.  Do you mean to tell me it takes 2 weeks to download a form??  She said she couldn't tell how far in the process it was but that it had started to be downloaded.

I don't understand why this process has to be such a mystery.  I don't understand why this process is taking so freakin long.

I just want it to be done.  I'm not hopeful for this week though.

    Scan date: 11/7

It just seems so disheartening I'm so tired of this process and just want my husband to com:(home

That's the worst!  I hate that people keep asking when my husband is moving over.  Especially since it seems we keep pushing the date out due to the slow process.  His boss in England keeps asking him when he's leaving also, because they need to know about hiring someone to fill his spot.  I hate that our lives feel like they're just on hold while we wait and wait and wait.

  13. Once your case has been received by NVC, you still have to pay the fees and mail in required documents.  You also have to complete the IV application online.  Once they receive your documents and you fill out that form you will have a scan date.  You can expect longer than 6 weeks from your scan date.  Expect anywhere from 8-12 weeks after you have a scan date.

  14. Missileman, we have the same supervisor review date.

Our scan date was 11/7, supervisor review 12/21.

Your're right, this is hell.  I had myself psyched up for NVC to be the easy part.  It's more like a never-ending torment.

My husband and I had a long discussion last night about what this process is doing us and what long term effects it might have on our relationship.  I don't know how couples survived this process before things like skype  and facetime.

I had so wanted to go into the new year with closure from nvc.
