  1. Did you have your interview yet? Or did you get an interview wavier? My wife and I are being interviewed in December.

For sure, we never got naked getting there. I was just wearing shorts and sneakers and a shirt. It was summer and it's understandable. How you dress yourself doesn't always affect the outcome of your case. It never says that in each of the required documentation or evidences in the application form. Based on that simple rationale, we never bothered how we're going to dress as we were thinking how do we get their on time when we have to travel from Philly to Mt Laurel in such a short time (from a late night sleep with a broken alarm). You are going to the interview solely for establishing the facts of your AOS case relevant to the totality of both you and your spouse's situation: i.e. living together, sharing expenses together, how you both handle complex situations, etc. The interviewer understands that any applicant for AOS is going to the interview for the completion of the AOS process and the applicant is seeking to have their AOS approved. You don't actually go there for a party. Lol. But it's up to you. If you both decide to wear decent business casual, you may do so without thinking too much and choosing what style and color to wear. Focus both on your case and your paperwork and anticipate the questions the interviewer might ask you.

Thanks so much! Did you actually mean to write "never got naked" or was that an autocorrect slip? :jest:

  2. Congrats on your recent EAD approval! Any idea how you were approved so quickly? (Current processing times are in excess of 90 days.)

For a fast approval, you also deserve a fast reply, of course. Your wife's will be coming soon (and sooner) maybe tomorrow, who knows? My advice for your wife (and for yourself too) is to be patient and be busy on something else and you will realize later that all good things come to those who wait. I wish the both of you the best luck and let us know if you have the good news at April 2017 filers forum.

Well, after 1 SR and 1 congressional inquiry, we FINALLY got my wife's EAD/AP card two weeks ago. Went to the SSA office to have her name changed on her card yesterday.

Question for you: I see that you're a fellow K1 adjuster whose case is being handled at the Philly office. Have you seen any progress with your AOS application beyond "fingerprint fee has been received"? Did you get a letter about a potential interview waiver? I'm concerned that it's been over four months with no status update and my wife's medical exam expires in January. Any luck with your AOS yet?

Hey, sorry it took a very while to respond back. My EAD/AP was approved July 23 and received it a week later. Then another week later, I received an interview notice to be scheduled for an interview at the Mount Laurel, NJ office. I got approved on the interview and received the card on September 23. Very easy interview and she forgave me for not bringing me a lot of evidences and since I was scheduled at NJ office, there weren't any backlogs and delays as compared to Philly. They "accidentally" placed me in NJ instead in Philly.

  3. Visa in hand! Flight booked!
