I think once they pick it up from the mail room....it is a matter of how fast the person working on it is. Well and sometimes they seem to speed up by country...it was the case for Sweden last week....You just never know.
We were approved last Thursday, but we are still waiting to be assigned an interview... grrrrrrr

I called and got confirmation that our case was closed on June 1st, but we did not receive the official email until this morning (June 8th) stating that our case was close and we were awaiting our interview to be scheduled. My husband and I are growing impatient now that the end is near...!! We are hoping for an interview to be scheduled for sometime towards the middle to end of July.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am nearly beyond words. I woke up today spammed with messages from my wife.WE HAVE AN INTERVIEW DATE!!!
I couldn't believe it , but sure enough we got the email at 1am PST (P4) July 18th!!!
I called and confirmed CC 5/30 !!! One day shy of 7 weeks!!!
So not only did I get CC I got an interview, I can not believe this ..... its not real!
Congratulations! Maybe they are expediting the Swedes!! So your interview is the 18th in Stockholm? That is the embassy my husband is going to. I am praying we get a date just as quickly as you... We were approved yesterday (6/1/2017)
However, It is funny how I too contacted my state representative when our I130 was in the USCIS stage... Perhaps that could be our correlation, or the fact that we have Sweden in common... Who knows...??

Did you see any changes on the case page?! Like case completed or N/A
I honestly think it was just a coincidence that I found out today. I went in to the summary information page yesterday, and everything looked normal, but when someone posted this morning about getting approved, I decided to go back to the summary page and see if anything had changed. Typically there were 3 boxes of information, the DS-261 (stating complete), the AOS (stating paid), and the Applicant Information box (stating name of applicant, paid, and complete), but when I went in to look today, the AOS box was no longer there. There were only 2 boxes present (the DS-261 and the Applicant Information box). So then I went to the Visa Status Check website and filled all my information in, and it no longer gave me the list of documents I had to send to the NCV, the message had changed to just "At NVC."
It looked exactly how the webpage looked in the spreadsheet titled "Visa Status Examples" (green tab). There was no where, where is specifically stated "case complete" or "n/a." It was just my luck, and my OCD that I caught the subtle difference.

Hi everyone,
hope in the next few days we all starting moving with this long process. Also yesterday I asked the repre from Nvc if there is any time frame about the interview scheduling in Brazil , and she said they will start "July" then I asked her to give more details ; she said that every month the embassy will send all the available dates for possible interviews , then they will fill the dates until the end of the month. If anyone left will put in the next month ,obviously But since they give wrong information sometimes then I don't know if that is currently! but this one could be right . If anyone know anything about please share with us . Thanks !!
Thats is pretty similar to what I was told by a supervisor when I spoke with one a few weeks back. The supervisor said they are given a list of available times for interviews at the beginning of each month. Once those slots fill up, you will have to wait till the next month... So I'm hoping we hear something by the end of June, that way we make it in time to get an interview date at the beginning on July.

I have heard of people doing personal interviews at their local office, but have not experienced this.
I did receive word on Wednesday, 22nd that there was activity with our case... Well sorta... Our K3 application was closed and it states on the website, "On February 22, 2017, we closed your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number LIN**********, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means." However, when I called about this, it still states that our I130 is still being processed. The customer service reps have told me that if my K3 has been closed, that it must indicate that our I130 was approved or denied, but it just may not be updated in the system. Then when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they always say that are not accepting calls because of of the high volume of calls....

Is anyone in May still waiting to be approved? Our priority date is May 13th and I am pretty much giving up hope... I tried to get my local legislator involved and they were able to get us a bit more information as to why it is taking so long... "extensive background checks"... But come on... We both have clean records and my husband is coming from Sweden... What could there possibly be to check?
-
I feel your pain. Our priority date is May 13th and we are still waiting to get approved... I have submitted multiple inquiries, called endless times, and even contacted my legislator, and still nothing... We are debating on just having me move back to Sweden because we are losing all hope.

May 18 here! Hubby coming from Canada. Nothing yet ?
We are still waiting as well!! ?

My priority date is May 13th, and we are also still waiting... I have called and submitted an inquiry and was told our case "required additional review." So I have submitted another inquiry... Every time it is answered I submit another and keep calling every 2 weeks...

Our Priority Date is May 13th, and we are still waiting... I honestly call every two weeks. Now that I know we are over the processing time, I have submitted an inquiry. It came back that our case "required additional review." Not sure why when we have been together for over 6 years. We have multiple apartment leases together, and husband had a student visa a few years back to go to university in the states. Either way, when I called on the 30th of December, they stated that we will have a decision by January 14th... I'll believe it when I see it... We are so over this!!

Anyone around the May 13 priority date still waiting to hear anything...?? This is getting a bit ridiculous... We are starting to get very frustrated since it has been over 6 months and we still have not heard anything and/or had any updates...

Hello everyone!
Officially joined the blog. My Swedish husband and I sent our I-130 application from Sweden on May 4th to the Chicago lockbox. We received an e-notification on May 18th that it was received and sent to the Nebraska Service Center for processing. Our check was also cashed on May 18th. We are waiting to receive the Receipt Notice (I-797) in the mail so we can then go ahead and file the K3 visa form. We are hoping to reduce wait time (like everyone else), so we figured filing the K3 couldn't hurt as we wait for the I-130 approval.
Has anyone heard that it may be faster processing times if you reside and file from abroad? We both are currently living in Sweden, but I will be moving back in July because I took a job in Miami beginning in August. We are hoping that our wait time will be minimal, but when I checked the Nebraska Service Center's processing time schedule, they are only now processing I-130's from November 2015. Any additional information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Wishing everyone speedy processing times!!
Michele
