  1. Finally got the “New Card is being Produced” status today for my wife.

    Received Dec 7, 2018,

Fingerprints completed on Aug 6, 2019.

Case was processed in Lin Nebraska.

We were a bit nervous since I did the paperwork myself, we usually pay a preparer to do it... but that time we were really tight on money and couldn’t afford the $700 the prepared wanted to charge us. Another thing we were worried was the extension letter has expired and couldn’t get an appointment for passport stamping.

  2. Hello,

I submitted an expedite request to the NVC and was approved by the consulte in Juarez.

The expedite email says to call the consule about the interview date. I called and was told that I was in queue for an interview date.

Today I created the profile on the CSRA https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ for my wife. I noticed my status was "Schedule Interview".

I checked the calendar and there were no openings. Checked this evening and there was a slot for November 1 so I went ahead and selected that along with the ASC location and date. I received the email with instructions.

Since I haven't received the package from the consulate, will my interview date be rejected? If the system allowed me to select the date I don't see an issue, am i right?

Should I call and let them know I have an interview date?

  3. Congrats on the expedited approval.

All contacts will be with the CDJ embassy going forward not NVC.

You would have to reach out to the embassy for any inquire with your case.

Basically once an an expedite is approved NVC is finish with your case.

So, does that mean CDJ will have the interview date and not the NVC?

My case was completed on Sept 26 and just requested an expedite interview.

    Thanks

    -Jose

  4. Hi! This is my first time asking a question on here. We had our CC on September 9, 2016. We have been waiting for an interview date in Ciudad Juarez. Today I checked our status on ceac websight not really expecting to see anything diffrent it just makes me feel better to check. It always says at NVC but today it changed to ready. Never an in transit. I was under the impression that it would not change to ready until we had received an interview date. Does anyone know what this means? Have we been assigned an interview date just have not received the email yet? Or is it common to have it change to read before interview date has been assigned? Thanks in advance for any insight!!!

Have you tried calling the NVC?

  5. Received a checklist

    ______5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:____________________________________

Please send a copy of this applicant's original marriage certificate or a copy of the certified marriage
    document.
Documents must be from the appropriate issuing government authority. Failure to provide the correct
document will delay your case and may result in rescheduling of your interview, or refusal of a visa.
For many countries, the U.S. Department of State has established country-specific criteria for ensuring
that applicants submit documents appropriate for visa processing. Please go to http://nvc.state.gov/ to
determine if the U.S. Department of State has issued any country-specific guidelines for the requested
    document.
All documents not in English, or the official language of the country where the visa application will be
processed, must be accompanied by a certified translation. Your translation must include a statement
signed by the translator that states the following:
    Translation is accurate
    Translator is competent to translate
If the certificate is a certified copy of the original it must come from the issuing government authority
and it must contain annotation by the issuing government authority indicating that it is an extract from
the official records. If the applicant's marriage record is unobtainable because records have been
destroyed or the appropriate government authority will not issue one, please obtain a certified statement
from the appropriate government authority stating the reason your record is not available.

Called the NVC 3 times, one of them said the Marriage certificate did not look correct.

The second rep, did not tell me anything, so i asked to speak with a supervisor. She went on to explain me how the marriage from my country should look like and asked me to send another marriage certificate.

The third rep said my marriage certificate was missing and was actually very knowledgeable. She even suggested me to send my case to supervisor review.

    Anyone ever had this problem?

I sent the original certificate's photocopy with a translation, perhaps they lost the photocopy and just looked a the translation?

Is there another person I should ask for? Supervisor review?

  6. It is very frustrating to see others receiving their CC within 30 days of submitting documents.

Called the NVC again asking for an update, apparently they haven't reviewed the DS260 yet but the documents have been reviewed.

I ask them what it taking so long, their reply is that processing time was changed on May 25th, now it takes 6 weeks to review the case.

I told the rep that I am on my 7th week since I submitted the documents and close to 6 weeks since I filed the DS260. Then she said it should be reviewed by this Friday and I should call back on Monday to see if the case has been reviewed.

Then I asked her about the "missing marriage certificate", she responded saying it should take an additional 6 weeks to review just the marriage certificate. I told her that I've resent the marriage certificate and it should arrive by Friday (hopefully before they start reviewing the DS260).

At this point, I do not understand why it should take 6 weeks just to review the marriage certificate (which I sent in with the package but apparently is missing) AND I never received any checklist either through email or mail.

Should I request an expedite? Since they never sent any checklist, my documents were reviewed on June 21st. And some reps said the certificate was there, other said it was missing.

  7. You always get the initial checklist with the welcome letter and you get the same one after ds 261, which is the same. but did you get a checklist after submitting everything, even after ds 260 and AOS and IV packages were submitted? If yes, then what did that checklist say?

If you haven't filed anything yet and have not filled out ds 260 or sent your packages then you have to follow what the welcome letter states.

No I haven't received any checklist after DS260 and AOS/IV package were submitted. I am looking at many CC in less than 30 days.. Hopefully I will hear something soon.
