  1. I've been told over email (via the Montreal consulate) that my K-1 interview should be sometime in March. I had emailed them initially to see if a date had been assigned.

Anyhow, I am moving to SLC, Utah from Windsor, Ontario. I'll likely be doing this sometime in late March / early April. I'll be driving over in my 1995 Saturn.

What exactly do I need in order to bring my car over (w/ the intention of keeping it over there as MY car)?? I had my emission test done last year and my car failed by a tiny bit .... so I got a conditional pass.... the folks that did the test could not figure why it didn't pass. Will this be a problem?? Likely I presume. Am I going to have to pay an outrageous amount of cash so that someone can figure out what's wrong w/ my car ... and fix it so that it can pass?

I read somewhere that I have to contact Saturn in order to get a letter or something too. :help:

  2. Has anyone noticed the glaring error on the paper in package 3 that specifies the measurements of the 5 photos we have to get?? In the measurements section it says that the photos must be 2X2 inches (50mmX50mm) square. OK .... but if you look at the bottom of the page it indicates that NOTE: these photos meet the same requirements as canadian passport photos. They don't though. Canadian passport photos are not square! I spoke with the lady at Henry's camera store .. and she reassured me that immigration photos ARE square ... so the measurements indicated are correct ... but the note at the bottom is very wrong.

  3. At this point, I don't even remember when our NOA1 actually occured. All I know is that it was sometime at the end of April. Well, if the CSC is now at March 3rd .. and the ol'NSC NOA1 dates still apply ... then this is a good sign. I would hope that a May 2007 wedding date is safe! I am checking out reception halls tomorrow and want to book soon (things are a fillin up!).

  4. Wow ... that was quick! OK .. I just realized that I also have to register ... as oppose to just typing in my case number without registering (which shows no date but just that the CSC recieved it on June 14th). Thank you!

    Hey Gang,

Pardon my ignorance ... I'm "new" to this ... but what does it mean when your case is "touched"? I know that I can check my case online by typing in my case number. Is this "touched" thing somethine I'm not aware of ... or am I missing something on the screen?

A touch means that someone has worked on your case. The date on your case will change, but the message contained therein will not. Its basically a sign of some sort of progress, but nothing to warrant a new status message.

  6. WOW ... i am so glad I found this site.

I live in Ontario ... my fiance lives in Utah ... we plan on living in utah post-wedding. we filled initially at the NSC in April 2006 ... and then of course come June ... our case is transferred to California. #######? thankfully this site and your comments have shed some light on the situation. my fiance has yet to recieve this new paperwork to fill out. does anyone know what exactly it involves? what i'm curious to know is what submission date the CSC is recognizing: a) our original date of april 24th (at the NSC) OR B) our new June 14th date at the CSC. it sort of makes things a little challenging when planning a wedding. we were originally planning on january or february .. but for now we've put all on hold for now.
