  1. I am a bit nervous that our NOA2 will expire before our interview is scheduled. The Trinidad embassy is currently sheduling interviews 8 weeks out, and expecting to only get busier. Our NOA2 just reached the NVC and won't go out for another week or 2 I am sure. With the Christmas rush and upcoming holidays, I am nervous. So in a case where that may occur .... what happens? Has anyone here had this happen to them?

Consular officers can extend the approval date for the K-1 petition. In my case, the NOA2, which was originally approved March 31, technically expired July 31. This petition was recalled from the embassy in Paris, and then went to CSC who apparently reaffirmed it without benefit of issuing a new NOA2. At any rate, my fiance had his interview in Paris last week and the visa was approved, so I guess it didn't matter too much that the original NOA2 had expired. BTW, neither did they ask him to see any evidence of a continuing relationship, just needed a handwritten updated letter of intent to from me (the USC). Go Figure, eh? I think this whole process is about 50% predictable, 25% variable based on different embassy idiosyncracies, and about 25% ####### shoot :P But I wouldn't sweat too much about the expired NOA2.

  2. Congratulations!!!!

    Things are finally happening!!

Thanks! Your interview is coming up soon I see. Best of luck to you!!!

    cdngirl06 and sleepless,

    Congrats! :dance::dance:(F)

I know it has been a long road, but I truly believe the most difficult part is over now. I'm very happy for you!

Thanks, Lewis! Ah, life is good, n'est-ce-pas? :star:

  3. Congrats to our latest approvals!

Now we all get to move on to wonderful AOS.

    Lucky Us

(We checked out the next step and........ oy vay! When will it all end!)

Well, so much for my momentary glee about having crossed the Finish Line! This is more like a long relay race that will hopefully conclude someday before I retire! :P

  4. Hi everyone!

We're back in the States together!!! And I am happy to see there is a lot of progress for us recall orphans. I hope all of you are well and still sane!

    Mew,

Good luck with getting your refund - I hope it happens quickly for you.

    Expatrica,

Paris never said anything to us about evidence either. Fortunately I found something on VJ in the guides and knew. Had I not been here I would never have known as there is nothing anywhere on any gov site stating so. The Paris embassy letter did not list it in requirements, and we only knew about a current intent to marry letter from me because they called and requested it.

But you have evidence and all will be fine. It's a great feeling when you are together, finally, and don't have to worry about all this. But it's a pain when you only have 90 days to plan a wedding and have the wedding!!!

    Cheers!

Yay Paris!!!! Another successful interview today!!!! My fiance turned in all the paperwork (turns out the I-134 dated April 14, 2006 was fine), and answered a few questions to the officer, who spoke excellent French he says. The officer confirmed he would receive the visa within 6 days of the embassy's receipt of his ORIGINAL birth certificate, which he had made copies of, but left the original at home. WAAAAA!!!!! Other than that one little glitch, the whole thing seemed quite frankly anticlimatic after all the incredible hastle here in the states. Go figure, eh? Hang in there everyone, the finish line is near!!!!

  5. FANTASTIQUE :star: BRAVO :star: FELICITATIONS :star:

William, I missed this yesterday - I have actually been working at work as I am not suffering the acute symptoms of post-IMBRA syndrome the past month. I am so happy for you guys!!!! Wow, as one of the charter members of the Over 100 Club, you will always have a special place in my heart. I really appreciated your support during some very dark and lonely evenings last summer as we all struggled to get through this thing. Now that people are actually getting visas, the HOPE factor has gone up an order of magnitude for the rest of us here. My guy's interview is next Wednesday in Paris. I hope I will, too, have some good news to report.

  6. Sleepless,

have you got an answer from the Consulate yet?

The embassy sent the pkt 4 with interview date and request for another letter of intent to marry from me. Nothing said about the second NOA 2 form. It's impossible to talk to anyone at the embassy there, no email, etc. You can fax them, which I have done in the past, but they never responded. ????? Let's just hope the October 4th interview goes OK.

  7. OMG! You can forget all of that! They still don't have our paperwork, but they've assigned us an interview!!! Yay! Just like they'd originally promised, and much sooner than expected - October 4th - I can't believe how soon that is!!!

They want us to bring in copies (and originals) of everything we've sent in for them and the originals of both approval letters (pre- and post-IMBRA) and my fiancé has to come in with me to swear an oath (for the IMBRA stuff we're assuming), but we get our interview! I'm soooooo excited and relieved right now! Thanks Montreal! :D:D:D

That's great! I'm happy that your interview was scheduled and here's to it being a success! At our interview they also wanted to look at our approval notice.

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (F)

I hope they have a different view in Paris about the second approval (post-IMBRA) notice. CSC never sent anything, no online case update, no email. I did get a letter from NVC saying that USCIS had informed them my petition had been reaffirmed. Kinda weird, huh?

  8. hi all!

    ah...ah....ah.........approved!

and the interview lasted all of 8 to 10 minutes! quite anti-climatic after being recalled and all the imbra hassles but i'll take it! we are still in paris celebrating with a good friend of mine! what a great time.

and congratulations to everyone else and good luck to those waiting for interviews. i can say now that there is an end to this bull we have all had to put up with. even though at times i could not see a ray of light in the distance.

i will post more about paris for those going through that embassy when back in the states.

    hearts!

    amwo

ps i feel like we are married!!!

BRAVO!!!!!! Here's the great news I was waiting to hear. I'm so happy for you guys, and even more happy, because my fiance just received his interview appointment in Paris for October 4. WOW!!!! Can we handle all this good news at once??? Oui, Oui, and oui!!!!!:star::dance::star::dance:

  9. my fiance got his visa approval yesterday at his interview. the visa itself should be in his hands by next week. thanks to everyone for their info and support. good luck and fast movement to everyone who is still waiting!

BRAVO!!!! Another recall passes the finish line!!!!:star::dance:

  10. Hard to actually believe after (how many days? I lost track):

    TA DA:

This case has been approved. On September 6, 2006, an approval notice was mailed.

Thanks to everyone for all of the continued support and assistance - I would not be in one piece without you guys! Gary you two MUST be next!!!

I will get to work on finding a brand spanking new HAPPY avatar . . . we have a long way to go but at least we can get out of the CSC hellhole soon.

WOW!!!! Great News!!!!! It's too early here for celebratory libations, but here's limie in yer eye, Kit!!! Dang, I'm going to miss you banging your head in front of the computer, though. Kept me laughing on many a long lonely night. Bonne Chance with the rest of this wild trip!!!!

  11. Hi all,

We got word today that we have our

    INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!

    on September 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FANTASTIQUE!!!! PARIS OR BUST!!! Good deal. - hat didn't take long (not counting the 4-5 month IMBRA delay :lol::lol: ). I'll be waiting for the full report! Hope all goes well. Bonne Chance!!!!

  12. We can only pray for that, Gary, cos the way its going, it will take a miracle !

Is it my imagination or have they focused on March Noa1's now? I am hopeful they don't want us to hit the six month mark and will give us our approvals soon.

It does seem like the MARCHERS are finally getting the attention they deserve!! I remember reading a post awhile back saying that a congressman had said that all recalls were to be finished up and sent back to the embassies by the end of August. This may explain what has been going on the past while. I know at least that my case, that I thought had surely been gobbled up by a voracious shredder, was actually sent back to NVC. and then back to the embassy in Paris before the end of August - BARELY. Maybe it was the pile of recalls that have been holding things up for the Marchers. but now that they are out of the way. the backlog has full attention once again. Who knows how to explain the random NOA2s for people eho filed in June, July and August???? Tres bizarre, n'est-ce-pas?

  13. Hello everyone!

A friend of mine was divorced 3 times and he wants to know if he has to submit all 3 divorce decrees with the I-129F petition or just the most recent one. Also, would copies of the divorce decree(s) acceptable? Or they need to be original?

    Thanks,

    Aibeen

I was previously divorced 2X, so I sent copies of the docs for both with the K-1 app. However, I got an RFE for the first divorce (long time ago), because what I sent for that one was not a copy of the final decree signed by the judge. Took me about a week to get a certified copy from the records archives in another state. I photocopied and sent it to NSC, who then approved the petition a few days later. That was a piece of cake compared to IMBRA, which has caused over a 4 month delay now.

  14. Congrats! This is probably the first time i have read about someone receiving notice from NVC. Oh i am sure it happens all the time but i guess i just see timeline updates stating "NVC sends out package to embassy". Here`s a question about this stage...

Would it be better to inform NVC about the beneficiary`s change of address or the embassy in the country receiving the files from NVC. If NVC is to be informed before they mail out the files to the embassy, is there a form to be used for this or would they update this change of address by calling them?

    Would appreciate comments..

On the first go-round, pre-IMBRA, I emailed NVC with the beneficiary's change of address and they emailed back and said to contact the embassy as the file had already been sent off. If yours hasn't yet reached NVC, I would suggest emailing them with the address change at NVCInquiry@state.gov. And yes, NVC does send out a letter saying they have approved the petiion and forwarded it to the appropriate embassy/consulate. Bonne chance! B)

  15. My fiancee got her visa approved on 08/31/06, two days after her interview on 08/29/06. I will post more details about it in the consulate section.:dance::dance:

FANTASTIQUE!!!! I'm really happy for you guys,Lewis! It's great to see someone actually have made it through IMBRA, and on to VISA VICTORY!!!!:star::dance::star::dance:
