  1. After over 140 day of waiting and hoping it finally happend  .

And not only that in a little over a week my baby is coming to see me. So I am on cloud number 9.

    LIFE IS GREAT!

Good Luck to everyone else. Hope it goes fast!

Put your hands in air, shake it like you just don't care!

Another March diehard gets a little love.

    Me too today!!!

Just got paid, it's Friday night, party jumpin, feelin right!

  2. I wasn't even going to check my status today, because I needed to give my blood pressure a break. So then, I get a call from my lawyer's office with news that our petition was approved. What a NOA#2, for me? Really? Well, you shouldn't have. No, yes you should have...many moons ago. Whoo hooooo!

My head and heart took such a pounding from this process so far, I thought that I would feel more elated. USCIS sandblasted the luster off my shining star :star: . I need to go get my twinkle back. Bling, :star: bling, where is my bling, :star: bling?

Thanks to all for letting me rant and rave over the last 142 days. One hurdle cleared.

    :star:

  3. yes, it is basically being told "tough luck buddy". That is what they are doing, processing by RFE date - but the processing is going quickly. They are up to July 10 or so now....

Of course, there are still people with earlier RFE dates who have heard nothing, and some people who filed a long time ago who haven't even received their RFE yet, and I just can't fathom that.

My receipt date was 7/11 and I got approved yesterday and received my approval email today, so they are probably up to 7/13 by now.

  4. What the heck!

Our petition was rec'd by NVC on 31 July and sent 02 Aug to Manila Embassy. The question becomes... Why isn't the NVC processing the petitions? Goodness, they get the job done! By the by, the NVC folks are friendly, courteous, and helpful. I wish they were performing visa interviews as well (wishful thinking)!

    Yeah Baby Yeah!!!

Wow, that is encouraging. Good for you and your love. Here's hoping that your process in the Phillipines is faster than normal too.

  5. And to be safe, never never never listen to what a USCIS agent tells you. If you don't get clear answers here from someone who knows for sure, do a couple of phone consultations with a qualified immigration attorney who is well experienced in your situation and set of circumstances. good luck.

Good advice. Don't listen to any of those customer service people!!!! I got really bad advice and was set to follow it, when someone who had been through immigration said, 'oh, heck no. if you do that, you will get arrested.' So I got a lawyer and am very glad I did. Those people who answer the phones are innept, misinformed idiots. Get advice from experts. Unfortunately, employees of that bad contracted USCIS call center are not experts, nor even remotely competent. Sad, but true.

I naively thought they would know what to do. I pressed the number that corresponded with, 'if you are about to file forms and have questions, press#2' and then the idiot from heck answered and she put me on the wrong road that caused me quite a costly detour. Beetch!!!!!!!!!!

  6. As mew said there is no expert on CSC answers.

One thing to remember though, the centers have canned responses that they send out. Someone picks which ever one fits their mood and responds to your email.

Like you were told earlier sincerly doubt this is in connection to NOA2 in anyway shape or form.

Your NOA1 date is in June. Cool your jets and relax, the way CSC works you will get your approval either tomorrow or sometime between then and Christmas.

I appreciate your style, dwar. You crack me up. I appreciate your sarcasm and your deployment of it in the face of this wretched process.

  7. As soon as I get my studio space I'm going to write a song about how fantastic USCIS is and I'll post it here.

What we need to do is get Spielberg to make "Visa Journey, the Movie" and then force all USCIS and Embassy workers to watch the 3-hour epic of a bunch of pissed off people sitting in front of their computer waiting to be touched or receive NOA2 with the credits finally rolling before any d@mn closure or climax is achieved!

Or, here's an idea, how about making it law that when a USCIS case worker is assigned a case, they must be immediately removed for cohabitation and contact with their spouse or significant other until the case is closed! Wonder if that would speed 'em up.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they only get to see their spouse if they approve all petitions arriving in CSC each day. One failure to approve, none of them can see their spouse or loved ones.

Okay, have we totally gone off the deep end yet?

Do you think these people actually get any? I have a little pic in my head and it ain't pretty or datable. They take out their lack of affection on us, keeping us apart. Revenge of the nerds.

  8. Some friends of ours did what you are thinking of doing... they had the church wedding but did not sign anything with a plan to get married here in the states in front of the local Judge... at their K1 interview they were honest and explained what they had done.... the interviewr asked if it was a normal wedding service as done in the Church of England... it was...at that point the interviewr informed them that even if they did not sign anything the were married and that it was recognised as such under UK Law.... the are now waiting for K3....

Be very careful is all I can say....

    Kezzie

How does the Church of England or their traditions have jurisdiction in say, Ohio or Massachusetts? You are having a ceremony on US soil, correct? A marriage license dictates whether a marriage is legitimate in the eyes of the state. If I exchange vows on some U.S. mountain top with a warlock, am I married and should apply for a K-3 and can I get spousal health care benefits? I think not. There is supposed to be a seperation b/t church and state I know that is not always the case, but you should be able to celebrate your love and committment however you want.

Have the party, buy the dress, have the cake and eat it, but don't get the marriage license without the visa. Get 'married' in the judges chambers.

So if they are going to have a Justice of the peace do a service for them here in the US, will the Justice of the Pease require a marriage licence to do this??? if he does then it is a legal marriage is it not???

    Kezzie

Of course, I don't think that any judge would celebrate a marriage without a marriage license! But we were not talking about marriages celebrated by judges, we were talking about religious marriages, and that in some way a couple can talk to the priest so the ceremony would be just that a ceremony that's not legally binding.

That's what I think, I'm not an american lawyer.. so I don't know the answer for what you're asking! I wish I was a lawyer in the US! Then I could be an immigration lawyer and make lots of money!

Judges get paid for their services and it is no skin off their back if they don't sign the license on the spot. They are accomodating too.

  9. Hey everybody. I will be booking our flights tonight for my trip to Japan to bring my fiancee back with me. I have a couple of questions about the POE process.

    1. Will a two hour layover give us enough time to go through immigration on a late Saturday afternoon?

    2. I have read about people having problems in Detroit. We will need to switch planes there. Does anybody know if Detroit is still a bad POE location?

    Thanks!

My fiance was visiting via Detroit and they treated him like the Taliban. Stripped him down to his boxers and looked at his computer hard drive. They eventually let hom in though. This was not a K1 Visa entry though.

  10. I'm here too, and just got a reply from a congressman... don't know when processing will be complete, call back by the end of september if I havent heard anything...

    oh like that really helps.

i am tempted to call my congress-person, but after reading about so many negative experiences I don't kow if it is even worth the time.

I had an insider track to my Senator. My best friend is his pal, blah, blah. Even his office got the same vague bull roar from CSC. But, I did send him a nice laundry list of things that I witnessed from others on VJ, especially the horrid plight of the recalled petitions. They are looking at things closely. I urged a Congressional investigation into this cluster fu$k. I asked them to ask, what would happen if they actually had to implement a sweeping immigration reform. I shudder to think. IMBRA made them loose their minds and that was a simple questionaire.

I am thinking they don't have any leverage at all, those law makers.

March 15 here and still waiting. No tease touches yet either. Bloody hell! Maybe I should w/draw and them reapply.

I had the same thought about reapplying. #######, I don't how it could screw this up any more than it is already. Here's a good laugh for all my fellow Mach boat people - I received email replys today from both McClellan at CSC, and from NVC. I had emailed both last week expressing my dismay that the so-called PRIORITY date of March 6 (so determined by NVC last April, was not being respected by CSC, as recently witnessed by all the approvals of May and June apps. , and that I was also concerned that my NOA2 was set to expire July 31, so what should I do. So, McClellan says, you'll have to talk to NVC, they're the ones who determine the validity of those dates. So I scroll down to the NVC email response to my inquiry, and it says, "your case was sent to USCIS, you'll have to contact them for information. Yeah right, maybe I'll call the USCIS number tomorrow and get a straight answer...:lol::P:(:crying:

Can this thing get any worse? For real. What a C-L-U-S-T-E-R F-U-$K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. If you like Americans so much, why go outside? I thought the slogan was BUY AMERICAN?

I dont hate anyone, I just want us all to have an open mind..too much consensus on this board about everything.

If one person gets approved, there are 30 CONGRATULATIONS. Is that not boring?

By consensus if you mean civilized, supportive, non sexist people, then yes, that is a majority of us boring folks. If you want cheap thrills, it is Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. Or better yet, you can also take a few moments to fill out your timeline. Have at it Mr. Excitement.

It is refreshing having a network of support, as it has been said a million times that others just do not understand this harrowing process. So a few 'congrats' after 6+ months of emotional turmoil is valid and welcomed to most.

  13. [ imaote name=MN&UK' post='345817' date='Jul 31 2006, 08:46 PM]

That explains all the out of orders getting approved before us Marchers. March filers get fu#$ed again!!!!!!!!

Beware the Ides of March. Hate the March.

    What exactly did she say?

Said CSC is now processing 129Fs affected by the IMBRA RFE according to the date they received the RFE and that mine should be processed within 30-40 days. They are giving themselves that much time to process that stupid simple form that caused us all undue anxiety. How nice of them to only take 40 days. We should send them a cookie bouquet.

Don't know about processing if no RFE, sorry.

  14. OMG! I can't believe it. My hands are shaking as I type this message. This is what I found when I checked my status.:dancing:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status:

This case has been approved. On July 28, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.

Colio! Did you get an email too?

  15. sarah and hicham

Thanks, I am giving Bill Thomas's office a day or two, and see what they can do. At least they were very pleasant and helpful. She said she could make call today but would more than likely get a canned answer. My request would be better served waiting couple of days for the congressman to sign the letter.

Could you make an appointment with Boxer when she is back in the home office? Maybe you could band together for other VJers to form the 'Califronia Citizens Coalition on Fair Immigration Processing' or some other lofty authoritative name and could request an audience with Boxer.

  16. I think your response was a good one. The information you recieved was a total disclaimer, but to me, they made the mistake of trying to verify that processing was going ahead as per the ususual method, which is clearly NOT the case. Furthermore, asking to verify that OTHER people have been approved before you is a massive violation of those applicants case. What good would it do to verify other people's cases....its just a stall and an attempt to disclaim guilt. The bottom line, is, they should neither be making up excuses, nor claiming that everything is normal when it is clearly not, as your response made clear.

I hope your Senator will get the reaction this right and not stall by pointing objectives in the wrong direction. There shouldnt be any reason to PROVE others went first...instead he/she should be finding out why YOURS (and others who should be in line) hasnt been one of them!!!

Please keep us posted as to what their response is to your reply.

    davidandeli

Joseph22's comments above were right on the money. I would be very very interested in hearing what your senator's office has to say about CSC telling you to supply personal case information to them REGARDING A CASE OTHER THAN YOUR OWN. Massive violation and total bullsh*t. What are they smoking over there?

For the sake of VJ solidarity and being a team player, I would volunteer to submit my information to prove to the Senator that the CSC is full of bull roar..but uh, I HAVE YET TO GET MY DARNED NOA2 YET!!!!!!!!!! My receipt date is 3/15 so I should be on the cusp, but I am not holding my breath.

Maybe one of the June filers that got approved before the ink was dry on their petition would volunteer It would be a nice gesture and an outlet for the guilt they must be experiencing seeing everyone else suffer ;)

    March 23, 2006 - Received date

    April 4, 2006 - NOA1

    Which is your NOA1?

    Me too, thanks

NOA 1 March 15, UK, Received RFE on RFE received by CSC on July 11

    UK

  18. I think the more important question is: What did your fiance do? It doesn't make much difference how old or young he was, as much as the actual crime committed. I worried about this myself, as a fiance of a former football hooligan... :P We have not found any of his record to be detrimental so far... but then, we have not received NOA 2 yet... so who knows for sure....

You and me too, sister. Gosh darn those hooligan antics. We might all be dancing at the Waiver-A-Go-Go soon. Why can't they show enthusiasm for their teams by hiring scantily clad cheerleaders instead of going on testosterone gone awry outrages?

  19. Congrats to all of you!!

It's so weird to see early March petitions get approved on the same date as late May petitions.

Interesting description, 'weird', but I would use another few words to describe this phenomenon.

From your reference line... 'tragedy' ???

The tragedy, as I've maintained and others have supported, are the transferrees... not those who've only been waiting since March/April...

    Jen

Yes, I feel for them too, Jen. That is a class action suit waiting to happen. It really sucks!

  20. Congrats! Now what do you win? You should win something like an Amana gas range or a trip aboard the S.S. Speedy Approval.

I am glad he picked one of our questions and it alluded to the black hole of immigration that is CSC. You get a :star: gold star :star: for sure. Thanks for your efforts.

    :star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star:

It's hard to tell if you're being a sarcastic ####### or just joking. I hope you're just joking.

No, I think it is cool that your quetion got picked because it pertains to so many of us. High five!

  21. I mean why can't we talk to a "case worker?" The best we get is a "Customer Service Rep" at a 1-800-number! It's our petitions and our tax dollars that pay for it all, so why can't we find out the status of our own damn case! Why can't we reach a Service Center directly? These people are so untouchable that we cant' talk with them? We should be treated as individuals like the Department of State website claims! The best we get is a short, vaguely written Public Notice! It has taken 10 weeks for my case to be "reopened" after the "recall." It's beyond me why it needed to take that much time! I think I should be able to talk to the person (if it is a single person) handling my case. Why are they and the process they take so hidden?

Because a well informed citizenry threatens the stability of the regime. If you tightly control the message, you control perceived reality. Info is the enemy of the state. Keep 'em in the dark so you an control what they see. Do not look behind the curtain, because you will lose faith in your government...and you will see a bumbling wizard, pulling all the levers of smoke and mirrors. You will oust said wizard and send his a#s back down the yellow brick road.

I know, I know, this is SOOO circa 1983 Yuri Andropov, or 2000 Taliban.
