  1. Yes. He has been divorced and I know in Canada you need to do an extra step. I am most concerned about how long it takes to register the marriage. So the post telling me that Canada is slow to register is very helpful. Thank you. We are looking at Cyprus. The rabbanute in Israel is too difficult.

  2. Hi.  I am from the US and my fiancé is from Israel.  We are trying to decide whether to get married in Cyprus or Canada.  He does not have a visitors visa to the US.  Does anyone have any experience?  My concern is to marry in the place that will register the marriage quickest so that we can file our petition as soon possible after the marriage.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.  thanks.

  3. Hi. The same thing happened to my fiance and we are still waiting. This is at the Jerusalem Consulate. After he gave them everything on November 15th they called him and told him he would have the visa in 2-3 days. we are still waiting. The CEAC status changed from Ready to Admin Processing back to Ready and now Issued. But still no visa. I am going to email them today. But this is so frustrating and putting such a strain on the relationship.

  4. I am sorry to hear that and I understand your frustration. Did they tell you that you were approved and that they were doing final processing? We were told that the the visa was approved but then on the CEAC website the case went from administrative processing to ready which is backwards so we emailed them. They replied that everything is ok and that it takes time. I would email the embassy to find ourt what is going on.

  5. My fiance had his interview and submitted his passport on November 15 at the Jerusalem consulate. The status on the CEAC was updated from Ready to Administrative Processing. Then a few days ago it was changed back to Ready so we emailed them to ask what is going on. They said that they are in final processing of the case. And then said it can be 2 weeks or longer. From what I have read on this website, most people seems to get their visas within a week to 10 days from when the embassy has all the information. Can anyone give any insight? This process is so frustrating and difficult. We are a very straightforward case. I would think all of the issues are addressed prior to the interview and that the interview is the last step.

  6. We are after the interview and my fiancé received a call from the consulate advising that the file was complete and they are processing the visa. On the CEAC website the visa status has changed from "Administrative Processing" to "Ready". For delivery method, we have chosen to have the envelope couriered to a post office where my fiance will pick up the passport. My question is - How will we know when the envelope is at the post office and ready to be picked up?
