  1. Beatriz,

I'm also from Brazil and I was super worried about not having all the vaccines but when I went to the doctor's appointment I did not have to take any new one. I believe MMR should be 2 doses (in Brazil they didn't give 2 doses in the 80's when I was born, so I had recently taken another dose---you can get one for free at posto de saude). I got the flu vaccine and remember that flu season is a different time in Brazil than in other countries!! You can find a 'quadrivalente' flu vaccine that protects against influenza A and B (H1N1 is a subtype of influenza A) and this vaccine will work for immigration. In Brazil a lot of people call this vaccine as H1N1 but it's actually wrong, since H1N1 is only one of the 4 subtypes that it will protect you.

Yay! you're a life saver! I went to a private clinic yesterday and they told me about that one, I was just not sure if the "quadrivalente" was the right one cause i haven't heard the name anywhere else. I even got the "triplica" at the posto de saúde, cause that's the only one they got. But i'm going to look for the correct one now! Thank you so much!

Information about the process is so easy to find before it actually hits a certain point where each country has different rules and procedures!

  2. Hey guys! How are you doing?

while I wait for the process to go through I'm taking care of my vaccines. The list i got from the consulate doctor had 4 vaccines as mandatory for my age: TD (tetanus), MMR, Influenza and varicella. I got some questions about a couple of them. I already got the TD and varicella, those are fine, but I cannot find the Influenza one, because it says it is the seasonal one, which here in Brazil is H1n1, and the doctor says its not this one. Do you know if theres a specific name for that shot? And also, MMR, i got the shot when i was 1 year old. Do I need to get it again or its once in a lifetime?

I know each consulate and doctor is different, but I keep asking about this "flu shot" and everybody says something different! I need assistance!! lol

    Thank you :)

  3. Hi everyone!

So, I was just looking at Igor's list, and it looks like they are almost done with April and may have already started on May cases! There were 4 or 5 May cases that claimed to have received either an RFE or their NOA2! Really hoping this is true, but even if they aren't finished with April yet, looks like they could be done by the end of this week! :)

im sorry if thats a stupid question, but... which list is that?

    hopefully thats true though! yaaay!!

edit: never mind. i found it. sorry!

  4. Hi everyone!

We're about to send our packet tomorrow (yay) :luv:

I won't lie, we're kinda nervous about all of that, any last hour advice?

    Thank you in advance!

we just sent our file last week, so we are on the same boat!

just think that this is the first step of your future together and get excited cause this is part of your story and you'll be able to tell generations to come!

for the package per se, triple check everything, all the signatures and dates. get a signature required delivery and just try to be patient.

btw, just noticed you're also from brazil! hahaha we are literally on the same situation! :D boa sorte!!

  5. Hi guys! How are you?

This can sound as a silly question for you guys, i'm sorry in advance, but me and my fiancé finally submitted the folder to file for the k1 visa (yaaaay!!). we sent to the correct address and all, which is a PO Box, and we kept on tracking the package all the way til it got to the message "available for pickup". We are not exactly sure how the PO boxes work, and if that is normal. We requested for a signature confirmation, but this "pick-up" situation is making me nervous. the package moved zip codes today until it got to this message as well "Your item arrived at the DALLAS, TX 75266 post office at 2:51 pm on June 22, 2016 and is ready for pickup." I feel really silly asking this, but does this mean it is just sitting there at the correct spot waiting to be picked up or it got back to the actual post office?

    thank you!

  6. Hi guys!

Me and my fiancé are filling up the K1 visa in June and we are wondering about the service centers, mostly which one our file will be sent. He lives in Florida, and I've heard that could be sent Texas or Vermont. I also heard that they transfer some to California... The last list I got here on the website was posted in 2013 and doesn't include Texas as a service center, and states Vermont being the responsible one for FL applications. I tried other visa and immigration websites but you guys seem to be on top of it better than anyone else.

Can anyone explain us exactly how this process work? We are a little lost and would like to make plans (work and financial), at least a possible date, for the interview, since he is coming for that when it happens.

Thank you so much for all the help! you guys are great!

  7. Hey guys!

I'm from Brazil and am gathering the docs to send to USCIS. My birth certificate is in portuguese, do I need a certified translation? They don't even require my brith certificate to file the petition, only my american fiance's, but it also states that all documents have to be translated if not in english, so I'm confused. I would like to send as much information possible so it doesn't come back requiring more data.

Also, there are some forums around facebook also stating that if your interview is in the country that the documents were written, therefore same language, you don't need to translate them at all. Besides birth certificates, police reports and such. Will I need that translated afterwords for my Adjust of status?

Sorry I had too many confusing questions and thank you for any help you can get me!

    :)
