  1. This is what I’m finding on the Moroccan consulate site. Do I have to do this before I can register at the consulate and renew my passport?

"The family Book or “Livret d’Etat Civil” has to be issued at the place of birth of the father. A money order of $18.45 payable to the Consulate of Morocco to cover the fee for Wakala & certified documents. If you were born in the USA it will be issued by this Consulate General othrwise, please send the following documents to someone in your place of birth along with a certified power of attorney (please download wakala below) to get you one. You need to send him/her the following documents that should be certified by this Consulate prior to sending them:

    • Moroccan or Islamic Marriage certificate.
    • Birth certificates of both parents.
    • Copy of CIN of both parents
    • 1 Passeport photos of the Father
    • Fees for returning your mail are not included in the fees above. To ensure the reception of your document, please include a prepaid express mail or priority mail envelope obtained from the post office. Please note that this is the only mailing method accepted. Thank you."

consular card number is passport number (upper right )/your will not keep the same number when renewed

family book number is lower right

send these and return overnight envelope

all goes to the embassy and onto Morocco and back to embassy

they ail the new and old one back to you in the envelope you provide (says expediate mail -overnight by US standards)

Hmm, I’m not finding the family book number on passport..

  3. I need to renew my Moroccan passport through the Moroccan Consulate in NYC. I’m a bit confused on the process/how to fill out paperwork. Anyone who’s done it willing to help me out, specifically with the consulate registration form?

    Consular Card Number?

    Family Book Number?

    Thank you!

  4. We talked to tier 2 today and asked when our case was transferred to the AAO office. She put us on hold for a few minutes and said the update she sees is the case was approved and we should get the card within 4 weeks. I asked about it saying it's "sent to the appropriate appellate office" and she seemed confused by this info and said the card is in production and we should get it within 4 weeks. I'm not sure where we're at.

  5. Our status changed to this today. Does this mean our approval is not official yet? Can anyone shed some light?

Case Approval Was Certified By USCIS

"On September 18, 2016, we certified the approval of your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, and sent it to the appropriate appellate office. That office will send you a final decision. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

  6. PaddyGirl, we should stay in touch. My husband and I are also mid-March filers (March 11 PD) with St. Paul as our local USCIS office. According to the online processing times, it does look like we're in for a 7+ month wait under "normal" processing times. Le sigh. Our online status has been stuck at "your fingerprint fee has been received" since early April...but I've heard that several others who had that status for several months received their GCs in the mail without interview. Fingers crossed...

Our local is also St Paul. We filed in March, RFE end of April, returned RFE July 8. Now we're stuck on "Response to USCIS' RFE was Received". Hopefully we all start hearing something soon! Best of luck!
