  1. A student visa is not that simple. Especially with a parent, who recently has immigrated to the US.

The OP mentioned they are already at the Embassy stage. A K2's birthday is in December. So, they have plenty of time to be done with K1/K2 process and enter the US BEFORE a K2 turns 21.

Besides, Kiev usually has "the next day availability" for both, medical and interview. So, they could be done within next 2-4 weeks..

I know it's not the same but better this way as nothing. Yes you right until December they have plenty of time.

  2. This may be the wrong place to post but I am curious about a technical detail. My fiancée and I are at the embassy stage(waiting on the papers to get there) Her son is coming with her. However he will be 21 soon, he was 20 when we started the process but I am wondering if we do not finish everything by the time he turns 21 will that affect his entering the country

    Thanks

Don't worry you can also try a studend's visa for him.

  3. Be sure you go the dating website "terms and condition" and print out a copy that shows this is not a marriage broker. This is very important cause from reading around VJ, some people got an RFE to prove that the dating website is not a marriage broker.

It was a year and a half ago. Already a long time we do not have any account there. How then proof that?

  4. It's possible. It's also not possible.

Please understand that 5 months is the standard processing time that the USCIS claims routinely. They claimed this when one service center was taking a year, and they claimed this when another service center was taking a few days to a few weeks.

They still claim it when petitions take a couple of months.

No one can tell you how long it will take to get to NOA2, merely a guess of a few months is a possibility.

Yes right, I did reconnaissance between those persons which have already received NOA2 and statistically waiting time is 2 up 3 months. We received NOA1 in 14th March and yes I know is so hard to wait

  5. I think this is a good idea. His family lives on the west coast and I'm on the opposite side so he has no direct family near me but if we have to do a hotel then we will. I really don't think it will take long for everyone to feel comfortable. My children and him already have a great time talking and laughing on the phone/Skype. He is very involved in our day to day routines and activities. He even skypes in for the kid's sports activities. Saying all of that to say they already have a good foundation and everyone is comfortable from conversations I've had with each separately.

We spent a holiday, together with the children in my country. Pretty cool time and nice merorys for kids too.

  6. Hi all,

I wonder on what basis is defined processing time for K-1 and how do you know which day petitions are just made, open? And what about statistic? There are statistics based on what they write registered people here? I'm trying to count how many petition was in February, and froem 01 to 15 March ( my fiance received NOA1 14 March) and how much falls a day. My results lean exclusively on the information contained here, hence my questions. I do not know how much time on average is spent on a K-1 petition. I'll be grateful for an honest answer.
