Thanks for the answer! What travel documents would be needed?

I know for residents and citizens u need a drivers licence or Id card because I dont think the federal ID (real and enhanced)  come into effect yet since all states don't have them yet, for your wife who wont have any of those she needs her passport, to board that's all they dont accept out of country Identification no more

    Hi,

I am going to be getting married in April to my fiance who is from Norway via the K1 visa, and I was curious if we would be able to travel to Puerto Rico for our Honeymoon? I talked with a man I know that works in immigration and he said it shouldn't be a problem but I wanted to make sure of this and get others opinions on it. Since it's a US territory, it shouldn't be an issue, but I really don't know. I was curious if anyone else has done this or what. And I'm sorry if I've placed it in the wrong place. Wasn't real sure where to place it.

Any opinions or answers would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Yes you can it's actually a domestic flight because they r usa territory so u wont have no issues once u have the required travel docs

I still only have the temporary 6 month stamp in my VISA. I have yet to cross the border and immigrate with that 6 month stamp. I was wondering if I can visit the US with that in there without jeopardizing it when I intend on moving in April

You can cross, once you cross you will be admitted as a permanent resident, and ththaththat stamp passport will act as a green card until the plastic one comes in the mail. This also means all the rules of a permanent resident applies so you cant stay outside the country for more than 6. months

Same situation almost 90 days no green card for wifey . Should I just wait till 5 months before start calling? When we went to security office even they did not receive anything from usicis

Keep calling them until they open a case on your status and then keep tracking them for updates, they normally give a time period in which they should reply to you for eg 30 days etc. If no response by the 30 days call them back

Hello Readysetgo1. I have an update that may be useful to you. I finally got my wife's GC to be processed. We should receive it in the mail within the week.

So, as I mentioned earlier, we'd been waiting over 5 months since my wife first arrived on her I-551 CR1 visa. After many calls and emails, we made no progress.

So last week, we called again, and I got someone on the phone who was awesome and fixed our issue. He said that, when a CR1 first enters, their picture and finger prints should be taken at the immigration desk at the airport. This would serve as the "biometrics" for DHS as all prior encounters were with the embassy overseas. Anyway, he said sometimes, the pictures and/or prints aren't taken at the airport or aren't transferred for whatever reason. He created a new biometrics appointment for my wife and faxed us the appointment letter immediately. Appointment was for 2 days later. Attended the appointment last week where her picture and prints were taken. As of today, our status changed to "Card is being produced".

So call USCIS and ask to have your call escalated to a "second level". If/when you get someone, don't accept "we are working on your case, and we'll let you know". Instead, politely ask if your biometrics transferred from customs/border patrol at the airport. If not, request they create a profile and send you for a biometrics appointment at a nearby Application Support Center.

Hope you find success as we did.

Thanks much work have me tired being peak season and all, but I did receive my card in the mail last week. After basically 5 months and few weeks. Also glad you got an update and hopefully soon the card will be in your possession. Its always helpful to keep up with uscis call them and ask for different time lines so you can always call back.

I've been waiting atleast a month before you entered and still waiting my last response was that they will respond in 90 days. The passport stamp does serve as the green card for 1 year after the date it was stamped upon arriving in the country, she dont pay the expire date no mind on the actual visa it's the stamp that matters after your first arrival

Yes she can travel just dont pass the 6 months rule

    Hello all

We are desperate. My wife received her CR1 I-551 visa on 06/29/18. We paid the $220 GC fee online the very next day on 06/30/18 before entry. Received the receipt from Pay.gov. We entered the US approximately 1 month later on 07/26/18 with an endorsement. We understand this began the 120 day clock. It's now been 125 days and nothing has changed with our case.

The online case status simply says "On June 30, 2018, we received your USCIS immigrant fee payment...". We called the toll-free number a couple of weeks ago, and they promised that someone would get back to us within 15 days. It's now been 15 days, and nothing. I submitted an online form for "missing card", and it says to wait till 12/20/18 for a response. Our lives are on hold!

    Here are our questions:

    a) Has anyone experienced a delay this long? If so, how did you eventually get it resolved?

    b) Beside the online form and calling them, what else can we do? Hire an attorney?

    c) The I-551 in my wife's passport has an issue date of 06/29/18 and an expiration date of 12/11/18. Below that, it says "Upon endorsement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year". We are confused about the actual expiration date. Can my wife travel and return till 12/11/18 (expiration date on stamp) or till 07/26/2019 (1 year after endorsement)?

    PLEASE HELP!

I would definitely try to get a hold of someone. I also entered through JFK (and it seems like JFK takes a long time to process things) and received my green card almost 2.5 months after POE. Since you entered on June 2, this is too long. I would call them or make an appointment to inquire further.

Numerous calls once was told was an issue with my address, then after that was told they need more time to find out why I havent received the card as yet

    Hi all!

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting an update on the mailing status of their green cards. We submitted an inquiry since we are already way past the 120 day mark from entry and payment, but they simply sent us a letter saying that they needed to do further research? I have tried calling but they never seem to be able to help. I'm planning on calling again today hopefully I get lucky with a nice agent this time.

Our entry date was 05/04/2018 and payment was made on 04/20/2018.

Thank you all for your input!

Same issue here been waiting since Poe June, now wondering if theres a backlog

    Hi All,

My husband arrived on an IR1 in April and we still have not gotten his permanent resident card in the mail. The fee was paid before we left and so far, USCIS hasn’t been able to tell us anything. They said they’d get back to us in 2 weeks with some kind of update “on our case” in the mail. Also, my husband received his social security card a week after our arrival so I know they’ve got the right address!

USCIS case status still says they’ve received the payment of the fee necessary to print the geeen card and will begin processing it at some point. It also said to contact them if we hadn’t received the card in 120 days.

Anyone have similar experiences or idea of why this might be happening?

    Thanks in advance!

Been waiting since arrival June 2nd same issues been calling n no favourable response

My husband got approved on June 23,2018 we entered the U.S on July 7,2018 and made green card fee payment on July 8,2018. I’ve seen that some people receive their green card within weeks of entering. I want to travel for the holidays but his visa will expire around that time. Anyone have an idea of how long it usually takes?

yeah been waiting since entering June 2, 2018 paid my fees etc and still no card

Soo I got a response from the US Embassy after inquiring as to why our status says refused online. The officer reassured me that our petition was still under review and is in administrative processing. I understand that the government website states most cases are resolved without 60 days. But does anyone have a firsthand experience as to how long this process can take in Jamaica??

it just took me two months to be exact with updated dates about 5 times. its just a waiting game,

you should be able to see a copy of the form here. also the same site you used to pay the fee should direct u to filling out the form.

  15. I just some more information on this topic, wasn't known to me all along.

Did interview and received this form (221G) and they asked that my wife submit newest tax return, which was emailed the said day.

    Been in Ap since

    1. How often do they update the website about your visa? as mine still shows the interview date (3 weeks now)

    2. how long does this process really last for particular to Jamaica?

Let me hear from some of the other persons who been in this situation.
