  1. You can't call CSC. All you can do is phone USCIS, but even they won't be able to tell you much if anything at all, and mostly it probably not even be accurate.

CSC is now the only processing center for K1s, as a result you can expect that things are slower there than they used to be. The USCIS' blanket goal is a processing time of 6 months, and that's all they will tell you (regardless of if it goes over that 6 months or goes faster than 6 months).

very accurate. To sum things up:

USCIS is clueless as to how long it takes to process a petition.

USCIS can tell you what day they're working on (you can ask both tier 1 and 2 reps to look into this)... but that's useless because they don't do them in order. It's more of a general/vague idea of whether or not they skipped you when they get to you.

USCIS cannot give you a single phone number or email or contact for any of the processing centers. And they don't know anything before 6 months/will not even create an inquiry.

USCIS will not create inquiries more often than every 30 days (there goes my plan of one per day...).

USCIS considers "your petition is pending and we have no timeframe of when it will be completed" as a valid "inquiry update".

DACA processing requests have shot processing times for I-130 and I-129F through the roof. Basically, illegals "kids" of up to 31 years old get processed before us citizens trying to bring over our loved ones.

Because of all of this, you can only hope they don't skip you. If they don't, it's fairly fast. If they do, it seems you have to raise some alarm bells (writing senators, inquiries, ombudsman complaint, mandamus lawsuit, etc), before they will magically assign someone to look at your case.

My PD is Jan 28th.. There are others who have been waiting even longer.

  2. Have you tried a congressional inquiry?

If by congressional inquiry you mean writing congressmen and senators, I have filled out the release of information forms, and letters addressed to my 2 state senators and district congressman, and I will be mailing those out tonight.

I'm not holding my breath on these, but I made copies of them and will be using them as support evidence towards a writ of mandamus lawsuit if it comes down to that.

Wish there was a way to hold government employees accountable... I'm sure my application is lost in some clown's drawer for the past 6 months.

  3. Potomac is not a blessing. It may be for some, but in my case 6 months just passed and I am quickly running out of patience with these lazy do-nothing/know-nothings.

I sent email inquiries, I have them call me back with the tier 2 support, I have just filed an ombudsman complaint yesterday, and am seriously considering taking them to court filing a writ of mandamus against everyone from James Comey and Loretta Lynch to Leon Rodriguez (USCIS director), and Jeh Charles Johnson (secretary of DHS).

It is unbelievable that after 6 months my case is still "pending" and they cannot give me a timeline. if the IRS was contacting me about taxes, and after 6 months I told them their letter is still pending consideration and I can't give them a timeframe when I'll be able to get to it, I'd have people with guns knocking down my door.

What other steps have you guys taken, besides Ombudsman complaints and writs of mandamus lawsuits? Any other options/avenues to go through?

  4. Good to know, keep us updated!

Guy today was a bit more helpful, and a lot nicer. Didn't ask for my alien registration number (even though I had about 20 PDFs open and ready with everything I sent to them), just name address and receipt number. He said the same line as the tier 1 guys - that they can't do anything before 6 months, but he can check to see where they are processing wise for my "type" or case - and that was January 8th. I asked how come others - on the forums (not that i would ever enter other receipt numbers to check  ) - get theirs in 2-3 months, and basically he said it differs from case to case what type of category they go in. So if you're in the unlucky bucket with me... hang in there. Government employees are working.

Since they are on January 8th right now and we are on July 6th, I guess they are 2 days ahead of the 6 month mark. Procrastination level: Government.

  5. That is crazy. Did you try calling back?

Yep, but got tier 1 support and they said it was too late to transfer me. So I called this morning and now waiting for a call back again. I have now started recording my calls. Arizona is a one party consent state, so if you plan on doing that (which I would recommend if anything for archive/reference purposes) make sure you check your local laws.

And I'm going in person to the local office tomorrow, gonna try and find out who that person was and see if I can get a call recording...

  6. They will call you back just be patient

They called back, call went something like:

    Are you the applicant?

    Yes.

The information didn't get transferred to me, can you give me the receipt number?

    Yes <xxxxxxxx>

Can you give me your last name?

    Yes <xxxxxxxx>

Can you give me your first name?

    Yes <xxxxxxxx>

Can you give me your social security number,

    Yes <xxxxxxxx>

    Are you a naturalized citizen?

    Yes

Can you give me your alien registration number?

Yes, give me a second to look it up.

I don't believe you're the applicant, are you a lawyer or representative? (this came in not one second later, no wait or anything)

    Sir, I am the applicant..

    No you're not, click.

Unfortunately I didn't get to write down the name and number when he did answer the call, mainly due to how fast he said it and his accent made it difficult to understand, but lesson learned, I am now recording all of my calls. I will also follow up with them and the ombudsman to try and find out who this was and if I can get a recording of the call, as this is simply unacceptable.

  7. YSC1690060996 PD 4-19-16 Approved 6-28-16

    YSC1690060995 PD 4-19-16 Approved 6-28-16

    YSC1690060966 PD 4-19-16 Approved 6-30-16

    YSC1690060963 PD 4-19-16 Approved 6-30-16

    YSC1690060960 PD 4-19-16 Approved 6-30-16

I stopped looking at those numbers... it's really depressing since my i130 is 10x smaller than that, PD of 1-28-2016 and still not approved. counting down to the day 6 months are up - july 28 - and if I don't have something a week later, it's lawyer up time and starting to drag them through the courts. I pay enough taxes every year to pay the salary of one of those officers... I should not be behind all DACA illegals... sigh.

  8. We just got approved as well. I did not receive any notifications, however when I went to check the status online it said our case is approved. Thank God for no RFEs and a quick process. For those who are still waiting, hang in there. Your time will come.

    PD: Feb 11

    NOA 2 - 5/13/16

Congrats! I sure hope you are right... NOA1 is Jan 28 and still haven't seen anything... :(

  9. Noticed ppl are talking about receipt numbers quite a lot. Which numbers in the receipt are ppl referring to? After YSC there is a 10 digit number (pair of 5 digit numbers). Which pair are folks referring to - the first 5, or the last 5?

How're you tracking these receipt numbers?

The last 5 are the ones that change, chronologically based on the date they receive it. however, the processing date apparently has very little to do with the order they come in. My I130 is in the 6000s and was received late january, and no movement yet; whereas my I-129F was early february, in the 12700s and again no movement yet... and I see others mid-late february or even march with approved cases... To track those I just punch in increasing numbers to try and gauge where they are at.

  10. I noticed that too. My assumption is one of the following: 1) They are probably doing thorough search or making sure the documents are all complete (depending on who the dealing officer is) or 2) there is the difference between USC and green card holders in this case so maybe that makes a bit of difference for some cases. I heard that for USC beneficiaries, the process is a bit faster.

This is just my idea, I do not represent or know anything on how this whole system works with them.

    Yeah, 1 is a definite possibility. 2 - I am a USC, so hrm... :\

  11. Hello everyone,

I've been trying to follow the process at Potomac - since my petition got shipped there directly from the Phoenix lockbox. Something is rather confusing about the way they do things, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on their process:

I've sent my I-130 in late January, they got it Jan 28th. I got the NOA1 shortly after as well as text/email to confirm it.

At the beginning of February, as I got the NOA1 I sent in my I-129F package. Got the receipt number for that one shortly after as well.
For up until March 12th I was not able to track the case online. On March 12 I was able to see a status of "received".

For over a month, I've been going through the various other receipt numbers to see where they were in processing, and things were not moving.

At the beginning of April they started moving and I see a lot of YSC receipt numbers are either approved, or sent to the state department. This is where things start to get weird.

They skip past my I-130 receipt number (low 6000s), and I figured oh, it must have met with the I129F along the way and they're processing it then (that's in the 12700s).

There were no updates between April 14th (when it was stuck at 10480), and yesterday April 26th. Searching the numbers yesterday I noticed 10481 was "skipped" and there were quite a few numbers past that with Approved messages. I got to 12600, that was approved, 12700 (and most all of the numbers I tried between 600 and 700) wasn't. Figured ok, maybe they haven't gotten there yet, fingers crossed they'll get to mine this coming week. Then for the hell of it, I put in 13000, and sure enough that one is approved. So that kind of blows my theory out of the water in that they're taking it in order of the last communication/receipt number on the case.

So question is, anyone else know what's going on with these "skipped" receipt numbers? What's causing some submissions from February being approved/rejected/etc (essentially moved on) but yet January or older ones being in "received" status still?
