Hi,
My fiance has her interview on November 6th.
She still has not received her packet from the embassy.
I wrote the embassy on October 30th requesting to reschedule her interview.
I thought that I would get a response by today. But, it's a holiday in Russia.
She has not been able to gather the required documents for the interview.
And her son is ill right now. Caught something at kindergarten:-((
What experiences have you had rescheduling interviews?
Sincerely,
Ed
-
Thank you Norrin.
I think that is exactly what I am looking for.

Already emailed the embassy.
Just trying to make it easier for her.
Any suggestions on where to get police certificate?
Thanks

Hi,
My fiance has her interview on Nov, 6th.
She has not received anything from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
I've emailed the embassy to send the packet again and to possibly
reschedule the interview.
She needs to do get her police certificate and she isn't sure where
to go exactly. I thought any police station would be fine.
Can someone advise on where exactly in St. Petersburg she can go
to get the certificate.
Also, is it possible to get her medical in St. Petersburg?
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
My fiance has an interview date at the Russian embassy in Moscow.
I am gathering everything that she will need.
The affidavit of support may be difficult.
I work for different people at different times of the year.
Same people same times every year.
I am paid and given a 1099 by some at the end of the year.
I am able to take plenty of deductions which can make my income look much lower
than it actually is.
What are my options for showing my income.
I have bank statements that show my deposits.
Would this be sufficient?
I don't want to redo my taxes and get killed by the IRS.
I don't have anyone who I could ask to sign on as a sponsor.
What exactly will I need to provide?
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
I received an approval notice for the K-1 visa.
I read the guides on this site and everything went very smooth.
What do I do now?
Do I need to mail anything else to someone?
Or just send the documents to my fiance?
I read that you can look on the Embassy web site in Moscow
and see when your interview is scheduled.
How do I find our interview date?
The numbers are different from USCIS.
We are in Ukraine on vacation.
She may have a notice in her mail when she returns to Russia.
But, we are here and impatiently waiting)).
Thanks for any help,
Ed

Hi,
I just received an email that the K-1 application was approved.
I am going to Ukraine to meet my fiance for a vacation.
I know that I should bring some things to her and that she must do
some things now also. But, my head is spinning now. I don't want
to forget anything. I am flying later today.
Can someone tell me exactly what I need and what she needs to do.
Thank you,
Ed

Thank you for the advice.
Unfortunately my s/o is in Saint Petersburg.
All she knows about Evpatoria is from her childhood.
She seems to have her heart set on a sanatorium or pansionate.
I think a pansionate is a Bed & Breakfast. Which would be fine, in America.
At least the food would be ok. I am nervous about Ukrainian food.
Anyway, I'll be there on Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi,
I am curious if credit cards are accepted in Ukraine.
I am going to Evpatoria and would prefer to pay my hotel
with a credit card.
Also can anyone recommend a web site to book a hotel on.
The popular American sites don't have anything sans Kiev.
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
I am meeting my fiance and her son in Simferopol Ukraine.
She will take a train from Saint Petersburg. Then we will go on
to Evpatoria.
I will need a hotel for one night. Since her train arrives at 3a.m.
and I arrive a day earlier.
Simferopol is not like Saint Petersburg or Kiev, where it is
easy to find info on hotels online. I have found some, but they seem
far away from the train station.
Can anyone recommend a hotel near the train station in Simferopol?
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
I filed for a K-1 in February. I never received a letter from USCIS.
I called and was told that they are scheduled to start processing my
application on 4-23. So I have been logging into my account everyday.
My question is. When I log into my account on USCIS. I noticed for
the last two days. The date has been changed in the last updated column/
to that days date.
Does this mean that they are working on my application or just that
I logged into the account
Thanks,
Ed

Hi,
I have been calling to Saint Petersburg for 3 years. I am using Peanuts LD.
With peanuts you can print out a record of your calls. But, the quality is awful.
It wasn't always that way. I call to a mobile phone.
Is there a calling card that has very good quality?
I don't really care about the price anymore. I just want to get and keep a good
clear connection.

Hi,
I am getting my K-1 package together.
I just mailed my passport in to have more pages added.
So I can't send a copy of all pages.
I have a photocopy of the first page of my passport.
Will that suffice as proof of citizenship?
I don't have a copy of my birth certificate.
And It's likely that I will have my passport before
I could get a copy.

My fiance and I filled our paperwork out in June.
Now I am getting ready to send them off.
My concern is that they are 5 months old.
Will this be a problem?

Hi
If I file for a K-1 and do not marry. Then marry in her country.
Do I need to wait 2 years to file for a K-3 visa?

Hi,
I just returned from Saint Petersburg. My fiance filled out the forms necessary
for the K-1 visa. I am living in Kentucky right now and have been intending to move
to New York. I am not sure if I should have her redo the paper work with the New York
address or just send everything in as is.
Also my fiance is divorced. She filled out the forms online. I didn't notice until I was
filling out my forms. But, the date was changed to the date when she was filling out
the paper work. The only reason that I noticed is because the dates were changed on my forms too.
Thanks for some advice,
Ed

What exactly does my fiance need as proof from her sons father.
Just a letter giving permission for him to immigrate to the U.S.
Does she need a copy of the fathers passport also?
Thanks,

Well she works as a sales rep. ( I think )???.
They buy from foreign companies and try to sell
to Russian companies. Anything from washing machines to
pasta makers.
She runs her department and earns around
$900 per month. Also since she has such a large
salary. She has two students that she tutors in english.
Each two nights per week for an hour each. Another $40 per week.
She considers herself to be ambitious. I don't want to tell her that
she can make $900 per month in the U.S. standing on a corner with a can
and a sign. It's true! My brother did it before.
One of her co-workers has an ex wife. She is in the U.S. now.
She could only find a job selling jewelry.
I think between the Russian forums and all of the nay sayers.
She is only getting negative advice. She speaks excellent english.
Which I tell her is a huge advantage over people who don't.

Hi Everybody,
My friend from Russia has been to some Russian immigration forums.
The concensus there is that you can only find a good job in the U.S. if you are a computer programmer.
What is your wife or husbands experiences in finding a good job in the U.S.
My friend does not want to work at Dillards or J.C. Penny's

To explain what I feel is inconsiderate.
Leaving in the morning without a goodbye.
Going to sleep without a goodnight.
Driving around St. Petersburg without knowing where
we are going.
And she drives like a nut too!
Everything possible to make you feel unwanted.
The lady watching her son is from the north
of Russia. Where my friend is from. Her best childhood friends mother.
They are constantly talking. I ask where are we going?
Answer.. To an interview, I have to meet someone. ?????????
Today we went to a shopping mall.
She says lets go this way... Then she disappears!!
The lady... Galina. Is frantic, I am pissed. I found her an
hour later shopping in a store. I asked why she left us?
She offers to give me one of her cell phones to give to Galina.
Galina is a very nice lady.. We comunicate through a dictionary.
She is constantly apologizing to me about my friend. She says
that I am a good man))
Her son is great also.. I am his best friend))
But, she is a complete different person than before.
I said today to her. " You seem different than before "
She says... " I am different, I don't know why. Maybe you to "
She says that I probably need a fat ugly wife that will sit home and
worry about when I will be home.
All I want out of anyone in my life is to be considerate!!
What is wrong with saying.... I am going to shop. I'll meet you wherever
in an hour???
I told her to find a flat and I would send money to pay.
Guess what!! I did!!
I guess I am asking to much from this one((
We have known each other for 7 months. We talked regularly on the
phone and emailed at least 3 times per week.
I had a great time in July with her and her son.
She was a relaxed and caring person. Now she runs around like
a chicken with it's head cut off and doesn't seem to care about others.
I am sorry if this doesn't make sense. If I was in a country where I
could read)))). I would have a good time anyway. Since I paid for the flat
I will continue to stay here...and suffer))
After my relationships with American woman. I thought alone was the
way for me.
By accident I saw and wrote to this girl ( she did not have the most beautiful picture )
She just seemed like a nice woman. When I saw her for the first time I was amazed
at how beautiful she was.
Now she wants to marry a rich Russian man and she will reimburse me))).
Any advice on where or how to meet a nice considerate woman??
Again I am sorry about the rambling letter.

Thank you all so much!
I really appreciate the view from the other side.
I think she IS the one. So I should be more supportive.
She does not know what I have been thinking.
So I appreciate all of your help.

I am right now in St. Petersburg. My second trip to see the same woman.
I had a great time on my first trip
This time sucks!)) It's like I am visiting a different person.
I am here for two weeks. Until the 20th of October.
My friend needs to find a job. She was living in a communal flat
until September 15th.
Instead of spending thousands on a hotel. I gave her $700 for first
and last months rent on this flat. So I am staying in her new flat.
All that she can think about is finding a good job. She thinks she is a loser
now since she is not working. I understand the need for a job. But, she
has know when I was coming back for two months. You would think she would pay
some attention to me. I have no problem paying another $350 for her rent.
I have told her so but, she is very proud. Just my luck!
That is nothing compared to the money that I feel I am wasting now.
She has a lady living with her to watch her son all day. She speaks more english than I Russian.
Thats not saying very much. I am ready to go home now.
Any advice is appreciated.

I am about to file the K-1, K-2 visa.
I am required to earn $22.500. I make plenty of money.
But, I am an independant contractor. So I write off everything possible.
By writing off everything. I have my taxable income below the required $22,500.
Do I need to re-file my taxes to increase my taxable income?
Thank You
Interview in 3 days.

Hi,
My fiance has her interview on the 20th in Moscow.
Her son is four years old. He goes to daycare and gets sick frequently.
We had to reschedule her original interview because he was sick and she
is afraid to take him on the train to Moscow.
Now he is sick again and won't be going to the interview.
What are our options if she is approved.
Would we need to file for a different visa for him?
I know that you must wait two years before filing another K-1.
Would that apply to a K-2?
P.S. His health is fine until he goes to daycare.
Sincerely,
Ed
