Just another semi dumb question, when I look at my timeline and the prediction that my case will be adjudicated by Sept 1 2006, what exactly does that mean? Will I have approval (NOA2) or will my fiancee have her visa?
It means that the forum program that we are using has taken your NOA1 date, the type of visa applied for and the service center you send it to and compared it to everyone elses that has a similar case. Then it used that info to give you a date when you should be getting a NOA2 or approval of your petition. Since IMBRA has things screwed up right now I wouldn't put much faith in it right now.
Ok thank you

Hi folks just a short message really....... I met Sue a month ago now in the states when i went to stay there, we had the most fantastic time ever!. While i was there i proposed in a Beautiful Location in Indiana and of course she said yes!.
Anyways onto my main point since i came back my life just isn't the same.....
, i don't know what i'm doing half the time , i feel i don't fit in anymore and we are missing each other so damn much!!!, we are constantly on the internet and phone each other 4 times a day.........
, But it just isn't enough!!..
How do all you people cope?!, my divorce here is nearly done, Sues won't be long , then we can apply for K1 at last!.
But how do we cope with the missing each other part?!!!...... some days it really tears us apart!, we have been planning wedding, and house and kids and stuff to try make things easier!.
Any advice Truly welcome Please!!!!..
Thanks folks and GodBless!!.... Love Youy Sue!!
Everyone knows what you are going through and we have all been there. My fiancee and I have several coping mechanisms. We like to text message each other in the morning or the evening to let the other know we are thinking about each other. Sometimes to say good morning,or sweet dreams or just to let them know that you love them. Our problem is the 13 hour time difference which makes timing a task. We also like to talk about the special times we shared, the silly things that happened when we visit. We practice each others languages on each other. Her english is much better than my Russian. But we spend time just telling each other about our days. We try to pretend that instead of 13000 miles between us we are next to each other talking when we are on the phone. It is always amazing how the must mundane and nonimportant things can fill a conversation.
We also like to joke that when the phone clicks or makes funny phone noises we say hello to the NSA or the FBI. Once about a week ago there was a strange noise that sounded like helicopters were coming and we still laugh about that. Just enjoy each other when ever you talk and dont worry about the time it is going to take. Anticipation is a good way to learn discipline. Plus you can always have phone sex hehehehe, just remember to put a condom on the phone, dont want her getting pregnant.

hello everyone,
i am finally in Kentucky with my fiance and i love him very much,he is a nice man
we re both eat in different ways, but we both try to find common food for us
i face new experience trying new food, but i am missing my native food horse meat and mare milk
may your guys advice me where in US order this food stuff,i know it is unusual for people here..
thank you in advance,
Alma
Just an FYI. It is illegal to sell horsemeat in the US for human consumption. The two slaughter houses in Texas can only sell outside the US, mostly France, Italy and Spain I think. But you cannot purchase horsemeat in the US. Sorry, try buffalo, or elk, or caribou, or mooses. I dont know anything about mares milk but I would think you would want to leave that for the little horses. Can you imagine giving baby animals human breat milk. We are trully a strange species.

Received 2 e-mails this morning (03 Jul 06) saying the RFE was mailed on 23 June 06. Are they staggering the mailings to not be "flooded" by responses? I believe this is the IMBRA RFE. Hopefully, we'll know in a few days.
Me too. I think this is EXACTLY the case - stagger to avoid being bombarded - but they told everyone they were mailed on June 23 to get us off their backs.
ugh..., agree with what u r saying Kitkat, they just want to get us off their back. ..
I am the same here, got email notices but have not seeing the RFE .. Hopefully all of us will be able to received it soon and wish that our petitions will not go to the end of the pile (I know that CSC might process our file based on the NOA1 date, but who can believe that is what they will do ..
..)
Situation identical for us. I guess USCIS requires us to send the IMBRA form
.
I got touched today saying the RFE was sent on June23, lets see seven days from the 23rd that would make the 30th, nope nothing yet.

I agree. My bet would be based on NOA1 dates and RFE responses. Also depending on how many RFE responses they get on a given day, they might just do all the RFE responses for that day together. I would think for the first few days after their sending out the RFE, they wouldn't have that many responses initially given the post/delivery lag time.
I personally would like to have some idea when my RFE will arrive, my lawyer has already prepared the amended petition but CSC said we have to wait for the RFE so that I can sign it. I could have sent in the amended petition 2 weeks ago. The whole things seems ridiculous. If the law went into effect on June first why not require every petition from that day forward to have the new form instead of going back 4 months and saying ok we will start here. They just created a lot more work and headaches for themselves.(Sorry just venting a little)

My mailbox was empty today...Heck, I would have taken a bill at this point.
Nothing here yet. NOA date March21

"touched" simply means that someone has "touched" your file, i.e., taken it from the dark hole it has been sitting in, blown off clouds of dust from it, and taken it to their desk. What they actually do when they have it, or what prompts them to take it, is anyone's guess. It is usually taken as a positive sign; sometimes (not always) it means that the NOA2 is not far off. Which is why people note it in their timelines. Makes it feel like there is progress, when there are no other signs.
Ok time for followup question how does one know that the case has been touched?

As a relatively new member to this forum and site I am not sure some of the definitions of terms used. It took me awhile to figure out NOA but what exactly does "touched" mean, I can take a guess but I want to know who is doing the touching and what it is to be "touched"

Amnesty.
Cant vote for Osama the military had him moments after we went into Afganistan. The republicans are going to parade him out right before the 2008 elections to ensure victory for whatever stiff they are going to nominate.

Hello all I have recently joined(hence Im new) this forum and so far I have lost a little sleep trying to read all the postings. I think maybe Im a little thick but is there a list somewhere that shows what all the abbreviations mean. Its almost like a new language and I am terrible at learning new languages(although I am doing better with Russian than I thought).
To tell my story.
Well it all started in a little home office in michigan. There I was posting an ad on Yahoo personals with little to no hope of anything coming of it. I had posted ads in the past with little to no results. After a month or so I was checking my email and I had received a curious one. When I looked up the persons profile it looked interesting. This woman had emailed me from Russia, I found it quite amusing. She spoke of her dreams to come to the US and meet a nice man and get married and have children. Being that I have never had much success with online dating I was a bit skeptical. After a few emails I realized I was being played, this woman claimed to have received a visa to travel to the US alone. She then asked that I send her money so that she can get through customs. Well I didnt send her a thing. Actually I looked on the US state dept website just to check the requirements for tourist visa's etc. I found an article on a russian dating scam that included a blacklist of pictures and names of individuals perpetuating this scam. I found pictures of the woman, wrote her a scathing email and felt better for not being a chump.
Included on the blacklist was a legitimate site which I figured perhaps this was kismet so I signed up and joined, besides it was free, I filled out the profile and added some of my best pictures and hoped for the best. After a couple of weeks and several how do you do emails to many of the woman I was interested in, I received a reply. I was very excited and wrote back, this was Aug 2005.
Emails traveled back and forth for awhile until we decided to make the phone call. I called her and was instantly mesmerized by the voice on the other end. We talked every weekend for a month when she asked if we could meet. I quickly put together a trip to Russia, Siberia to be exact, in November. I arrived after 2 days in airports and planes at least it seemed that way. We met in the airport and there was a comfort I never felt with anyone before. It was as if we had known each other for a long time. I spent one of the best weeks of my life with the most wonderful woman,Elena. I was reluctant to go home but the cold was begining to get to me and Im from michigan. After arriving home I thought about it for about a month, purchased a ring and proposed in january, she accepted and we began putting together our paperwork. I found a local lawyer who specializes in immigration and we filed in March. I travel to see her again in May, I stayed with her for 10 days and we had the most wonderful time. We are just waiting and waiting for the uscis to do something with our petition. I dont care what Heinz ketchup says, anticipation is not fun and I like most people here are tired of waiting, but for happiness the rest of my life I can be a little patient.
After all that my hands are getting tired so I hope someone enjoys this narrative. I look forward to spending a lot of time on this forum hearing about all the success and helping whoever I can. Thank you for all this information and good reading.

I was wondering the following?
What percent of VJ'ers met their loved ones on the internet vice meeting them in person? I would say my guess would be 70%. What do others think?
My fiancee and I met online through a strange set of circumstances, I had placed an ad on Yahoo personals with little to no local responses. One day I received a strange email from a woman in Russia who was interested in me. I know everyone is screaming scam,so was I in the back of my head. After a few emails she claimed to have gotten a tourist visa to enter the US alone, which I knew was not possible, but she told me that she was told she need $2000 to come to the US, that was what a customs official told her. I looked at the State Department website to see if that were true, found a blacklist for Russian scammers and found this womans picture, wrote her an email that what she did was atrocious(sp). On the blacklist site there was a link to a legitimate site for meeting Russian women, I thought what the heck and registered. I looked through a lot of profiles sent a bunch of email and received 2 responses, one from a woman who stopped writing me after a week and one from a woman in Siberia. We began emailing each other in late august and in late september I placed my first phone call. Traveled to Russia in late November, met, fell in love, I proposed over the phone( I would have preferred in person), returned to see her again in early May. We filed our paperwork in March and we have been waiting ever since.

I submitted questions as well.
My first was the same as everyone else, why CSC is so slow
My last question dealt with the retroactive date chosen of March 6 instead of starting with June 1 when the law went into effect. I also mentioned the added delay and cost to the taxpayers for sending out the RFE's and the processing.
