How well will the CO believe that I speak Chinese and my wife and I communicate in Chinese?
My wife doesn't speak English at all (aside from a few basic sentences), so she'll have to do the interview in Chinese
The VO don't care if you speak Chinese or not.
The VO is not interviewing you.
He/she is interviewing your wife.
Interview in Chinese is no problem, They will ask.
Though sometimes they do ask how do you communicate with each other.
I would say: Pocket translator for now or QQ.
Worked for my wife.

There is a sealed envelope? Do you mean the medical envelope she takes to the interview, or is she supposed to have a sealed envelope for POE? What if she opened it? I better ask her haha.
Hope she did NOT! open it?
It says right on the front of the SEALED envelope DO NOT OPEN!
Could cause problems at POE if opened.

First of all, I realize this post is four years old, and it was recommended that the posting should be moved to US Embassy/Consulate Forum. I checked the Sub-forum and no specific discussion was noted. NVC has our case going on 80 days with review and case closure pending. US Embassy assigned is Guangzhou, China
That being said; I have two questions and read of varying opinions on both subjects.:
1. Will a translator be available and provided at the interview for my Chinese speaking wife? She speaks only limited English.
2. Can I attend the interview?
Thank You
1. Most if not all VO speak chinese and most will ask what language your wife wants to speak during interview.
2. No, You can not attend interview.

***Moved from Tourist Visas forum to China regional forum.***
**Moderator hat off**
It's not possible to apply for a Chinese tourist visa online. You either have to go to the Consulate that has jurisdiction where you reside yourself or have an agency do it for you.
I have always used Oasis china visa there the best, Very fast and reliable (and safe) i have been using them for years with no problems.
I have my passport with them now getting a new visa.

We had case complete on 02/06/2015
one week later NVC assign/gave us interview date of 03/02/2015 in GUZ.
We did EP and everything came through email.
Now would be a good time to call NVC and or GUZ.
That CGI web site is a waste of time.
I never did get it to work for me.
Call NVC and GUZ

Sorry my friend for the bad news.
This would not be the first time NVC dropped the ball.
The only thing you can do at this point is send them what they ask for.

Well i guess it's time for me to post.
Long time member and second time going down the visa journey.
I'll update my timeline later when i get time.
My wife and step son are Chinese.
We started the process back on 08-01-2014
Got through USCIS in 32 days.
been at NVC for little over a 5 months.
Paid all the fees and jumped through all the hoops that NVC likes us to do.
Waited the 60 days (Scan date 11/28/2014) and on the 61st day the CEAC site shows 3 N/A.
Case complete and NO check list.
I'm not even going to bother calling NVC for i know how it works by now.
I'll just wait until this time next week when NVC sends me the email.
Good luck all, I'll be headed off to Guangzhou soon.

It's called a misinterpretation. Lying would be if you purposely did it to achieve something. That doesn't answer my question...
misinterpretation is the same as lying in the eyes of USCIS,NVC and the VO during the interview.
First rule is to NEVER lie or as you say misinterpretation on a visa application.
IMO: A check list is very possible and if NVC don't catch it the VO during the interview will!
A check list is the least of your problems for you have misrepresented yourself on a legal and binding contract.
Good luck my friend.

I would pay the wife's fees and send out the documents ASAP. There is no point in waiting for son's fees to get invoiced and delay the wife's process.
If i pay for the wife IV bill will both cases stay together? (As they have so far)
Two I-130 and Two differnt case numbers.
-
Sorry, it's not letting me type.
I WAS SAYING THAT U NEED TO PAY ONLY FOR UR WIFE, child is included.
Thanks for the reply.
The thing is, there are two different case numbers from NVC.
One for wife and one for step son.
Though stepson IS! listed on wifes I-130.
From my understanding, Two case numbers, Two IV Bills.

Question about IV fee bill:
I have taken care of the DS-261 both for wife and step son.
No problems paying the AOS fees (Online at NVC)
Then yesterday received email from NVC for IV fee bill for wife only.
I log into NVC For wife case and it shows paynow for a fee of 325$
But for step son it shows nothing.
Should i pay the wifes IV fee now or wait and see if step son get IV bill/
Thanks
Anyone?

Maybe you just need to wait, I heard people waiting for more than one month, just be patient ,it will be ok
Thanks for the reply.
As luck would have it i received a IV fee bill today (NVC Email) for the wife BUT NOT for step son?
Should i pay the IV fee now for wife OR should i wait and see if i get IV fee bill fot step son?
Thanks.

Well folks, It looks like im going down the china road again.
Long story... but doing it again.
So far everything is looking good.
Our case is at NVC for wife and step son.
Ds-261 has been taken care of and now just waiting to pay IV bill.
It seams as though there is some delay in paying the IV bill for i can not pay it in the NVC site.
I had no problems paying the AOS bill about a month ago but the IV bill still does not show up.
I guess i need some help from the pros here on VJ.
Not sure what to do with this new system that is in place now?
The first time i went down this road it was all snall mail???
This is all new to me now.
