  1. For the NVC stage I submitted the following in one email electronically. I thought I read they only wanted one package. This is all i submitted before my interview.

    Document Cover Sheet

    AOS

    Tax transcripts for 3 years

    Applicant birth Certificate

    Applicant Marriage Certificate

    Unexpired passport bio page

    Police Certificate

I know I answered yesterday your question about the tax transcripts and people replied saying that W-2's were not needed. I agree they shouldn't have been needed since tax transcripts reflect the same as the W-2 but I also stated that the officer was not going to approve my case without last years W-2 copy.

  2. That is what we did. I will tell you though that when my wife went to the interview in Montreal she presented just the tax transcripts and they did not approve her case at that time. Luckily before she left Montreal I emailed montreal and was able to email a copy of my latest W-2 and she was able to re-drop off her passport that day for case approval.

short answer for us it was okay to use the tax transcript for our initial packet support but we needed to have a W-2 at the time of interview.

  3. Can I ask if you sent your packet 3 info immediately after submitting documents to NVC? I was wondering the same thing if I could just send the packet 3 documents as i just submitted the larger package to NVC last night. I appreciate any feedback you might have.

    Thanks

  4. Can someone help me out with the documents i need to send in to the NVC and what checklist i follow? My wife will be interviewing in Montreal. The welcome letter gives a document cover sheet that is barcoded and lists several documents you need to send in and check whether it applies to your case. On the department of state website it indicates i will be receiving an immigrant packet 3 and packet 4 after or at the same time immigrant visa fees have been invoiced. I downloaded the montreal packet and it is slightly different from the welcome letter document cover sheet with one big difference that the montreal checklist appears to require DS-260 barcode. I would like to submit my information as soon as I can. If there is anyone who interviewed with Montreal that can speak to their experience I would appreciate it. Thank you!

also two other questions....as a petitioner for my wife do i need to submit a copy of my passport? I think the answer is no

second question is I was previously married do i need to submit a copy of my divorce decree? I think the answer is no as this stage the info is mainly about my wife who has never been married?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Is it normal not to be able to get access to the CEAC site after entering in case # and invoice #? My case# was just assigned today and when i try to enter in the information to start filling in the choice of agent form i get an error message saying unable to process. Does it take another day to get into the system to be able to access this form? or should i call them? IT just simply gives me this error message below after i hit enter and have the case #, invoice # and typed in the robot random generated #'s.

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error.

  6. NOA 2 date from Nebraska is 06/10/2016. My case status still just says approved for my I-130 and not Sent to the Department of State. Just curious if there are any other June approved I-130's from Nebraska still awaiting their files to be actually sent to NVC? In looking at the timelines there isn't many that have NVC date received filled in. If this process doesn't teach you patience then i am not sure what will :)

  7. I know we have a few Canadians on this thread....I was wondering if anyone has applied and received their police clearance letter? We went in and simply filled in the online application and it didn't have a recognizable place for a middle name so we just simply filled in Surname with her married name and then her maiden name in maiden name. For Given name 1 we filled in just her first name with in the comments specifying her middle name. The check came back fine but it only references her first name and both of her last names(maiden and married). In speaking with the records department in Toronto they specified if i wanted a search on middle name i should have included it on Given name 2 or included in in given name 1 area. I thought i would get others thoughts if they have gone through this already. Here is the link of the form we used.

  8. Well I have been on a mission all morning , I was able to confirm that Nebraska is working on 1/4/2016 cases a few were sent for RFE's and I found 1 that was sent to another USCIS center..

Can you explain how you are checking in on progress of applications? I would assume typing in on the egov site but i don't understand what all the numbers mean. Or is it via another site or app? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  9. I am an American citizen and have filed an I-130 for my Canadian wife which is being processed at the Nebraska Service Center. She will eventually be going to the Montreal consulate for an interview. I am trying to prepare and have as much information as possible completed to avoid delay so I have been looking at the DS-260. A little background is my wife's family won an immigration lottery about 25 years ago when she was 10 and went through this whole process. They ended up just abandoning their US residence and moving back to Canada after about 6 months.

    Here are my questions:

*Previous US travel.....her parents live in a border town and frequently travel over the bridge to the States for shopping etc. Should I record these small visits as counting towards the 5 we have to detail out?

*Has she had any of her visas cancelled or revoked? Since she simply abandoned her residency several years ago is that deemed as being cancelled? I assume not but just want to verify.

*How important is it for the correct dates for places where she lived?

*Is there a way to register for an account before my file is approved at USCIS and sent to NVC so I get notified right away when NVC received the file and passes on to Montreal? Or do i just have to call every few days to see if they processed my file so I can began the DS-261,AOS, and DS-260 part of the process?

    Any help would be appreciated!
