Where in Atlanta will you be living?

My husbans and I live 25 minutes away from Downtown Atlanta. It's okay and traffic is normally not so bad.

      Thank you.

We'll see but I think I get one in the mail. But I already have the paperwork ready to send it to USCIS.

Let's keep in touch with each other. You can message me if you have a question about K1 or AOS.

      That's correct.

If you send it with USPS, it's  $6.65 for the Priority Mail envelope(arrives after 2 business days). The $6.65 include an insurance of up to $50 and you can track the package.

If you send it with UPS, you have to pay extra for tracking your package.

Yes you can do that. Make sure that the eligibility category on your I-765(Work permit: number 16) is C9 and that you submit 2 pictures for each application. And don't forget to submit the 2016 W2, 2016 tax return, a letter of employer and some pay stubs from the US-sponsor. That's SO important. We only submit 2 pictures and my husbands 2015 tax return. I might get an RFE.

I thought you applied for AOS too.

Well, we got married on February 3rd (Friday) and paid for the certified marriage certificates afterwards. The woman at the Court House told us that the documents are ready for pick up by the end of the following week. We picked them up on Thursday. I have 3 originals.

Haha...I'm kinda used to how they process applications. The bureaucracy in Germany is very similar.

      Hey,

I went to the SSA office in Norcross because it's the closest one for me.

The first time I went there was on February 21st, so almost 3 weeks after I got married. I went there(with my original marriage certificate) and was told that I can apply for a SSN but my maiden name will be on the card.I would have to come another time to get the name changed. Didn't understand why but okay...

Came back a week later and I was told that I cannot change the name until I have my EAD. Spent almost 2 hours there for nothing..

. Then, on March 15th, I went to the office for the THIRD time but this time I had my 3 NOA1s with me and BAM. They said that they have to verify the documents with USCIS and if the documents are okay, they will send me a new Social Security Card with my new last name. Received the letter  with the new card10 days later.

I had the impression that they had absolutely no idea how to handle people with a K1 visa. I guess you just have to tell them that you applied for your GC and that's it's always better to take the original NOA1s with you.
