Ours took about a week. The whole process has been going quite quickly so far.

We used personal cheques. I think it is the way to go as you can quickly see if the ceques have been cashed by using your online banking.

Thank Cali- you may be one of the few who actually read the USCIS instructions on filing,
We 2 hole punched our applications as weel and used ACCO fasteners,
We even color coded cover sheets for each form.
Addie we did the same, I have the interview documents bound and tabbed and coded. I also have made a second copy for USCIS in case they want to keep anything. My husband thinks I am going overboard (must be the teacher in me lol). I just rather be way over preapred than under.
In reading the experiences of other posters they tend to have quicker easier interviews when they arrive prepared and organized.
Good Luck to you all!

My wife was on an H1B visa. Can we send all the paperwork to the Lockbox? (I-130, I-485, I-864 etc)
Yes, that is where you need to send all of your documents.
I am also on a H1B married to USC. We already have an interview in a couple of weeks.
Good Luck!

You can check others timelines. It seems theybeen waiting anywhere from 1-2weeks to get notices.
I hope you hear soon!
Good Luck

yes, just send a copy of all documents.
Bring the originals to interview.

I agree with Addie...send in more than required!!
We apppliend I-485, with I-130, EAD,and AP etc altogether.
I sent all required documents and included a cover letter for each application. (This meant makind several copies of the same documets)
(They appreciate if you already have application 2 hole punched with ACCO fasteners). We may have oversent and been overprepared but I think it helped. ....We have received our interview with no RFE's and are experiencing a quick AOS process.

Ours is August 30 in California.
Good Luck everyone!

Your list looks great Please let us know how the interview went, mine is August 30 in California.
The only thing my husband and I don't have is joint bank account. I entered on H1b visa and met him when I was down here. We had different banks and because of direct deposit and other bills coming off we just left as is. We do have a joint savings and added eachother to our individual accounts. We have been married two years ( I know we were slow filing) and can show evidence of joint health ins., apt lease, bills, joint car ins., joint credit account, beneficiary on life insurance and photos, and my name change on driver licence and at work. We also had a large formal wedding and have invitations, receipts of payment, and honeymoon. Do you think it will be ok that we never had one main joint bank account.??

Hi,
KarenCee
I know I added engagement photos into the package I have put together for interview, however, I entered on H1B visa and therefore need to prove how we met and that our marriage is real. We all know how real our love is but we need to prove this to the IO who has no clue about us. If you entered on a K1 you have already had an intial interview and suppose no need for some of these items. My AOs interview will be my first and only interview. (at least for a few years)
Anyways, I guess you can never have too much information. I'd rather be over prepared than under. I think hikaru posted a very complete and useful list.
Good luck with the process !
I see you you are from Canada, I am origianlly from Ont.

I have just put my package together in a binder using clear photo and document sleeves( I made a second copy for the interview in case they want to keep anything) My Interview is August 30. Also, let me know if I should add anything to my list attached.
I hope this helps!
Good Luck!

My DO is in California as well. I thought it was LA , but for some reason my interview is in San Bernardino.
(I actually reside between these locations) If you look at my timeline you will see they are moving quite quickly. I think you should check the DO closest to where you reside. Remember the dates you see are not always accurate because my DO says processing Dec., 2005 and I have Interview already with July 16 RD.

When I came on H1B my SSC says only valid with ins authorization. I assume this will be the same when the Green Card arrives. This means you need some form of authorization from USCIS. I appllied for EAD in case H1B expired before I received Green Card.

Hi,
I've got one question here: I did my medical (I-6whatever) which includes all what they ask for and they copied my international vaccination certificate since I had all necessary shots, my TB was negative what else, and CPR and HIV came back negative as well. What I am wondering now: people talk about a vaccination supplement which is requested later somehow. Do I need that since I got that sealed enevelope? Do I have again to spend money on another sheet of paper which again states that I am perfectly immunized????
And I'm sorry for asking so much, but does anyone know when I have to get my second varicella shot? I just did it in November on a routine check back home, and I heard from a colleague that it takes two shots to be actually immune (I remember my doc back home said so too, but I so forgot how many months later it must be done)......
Thanks guys!
Maja
Hi
My understanding is if you are up to date on all vaccines you do not need the supplement form. They use this if a person can not provide evidence or is not fully immunized. I had a supplement form with mine as I couldn't show evidence of a second MMR. The supplement form has a section called the blanket waiver whcih allows the doctor to check age not approriate if the vaccine is not appropriate for age( ie hep B is only needed for those 19 and younger.. others can use the blanket waiver) There is a chart the doctor has to determine what vaccines are to be given for your age. For my age required vaccines were 2MMR, tetanus, proof of varicella.

I just had my I-693 physical last week. Do not worry if you can't provide evidence of vaccines. There is a chart/Table1 that is provided by ins . It states "Requirements for routine vaccination of adjustment of status applicants examined in the U.S. who are not fully vaccinated or have no Documents" Below this is a table outling required vaccines for your age. The age bracket 18-64 need to have 2 MMR, upto date tetanus, and proof of immunity to chicken pox ( I just told the docotr I had as child and that was good enough) The hepatitis B vaccine is only required if you are 19 and younger. The doctor I saw provided me with a copy of this chart and of the I-693 and supplemental page that were sealed in the envelope. I ended up having to get 1 MMR vaccine as me records only showed one for some odd reason.
Good Luck!

It depends what documents you are referring too. Weave my interview in a couple weeks you can view the attached list of the items We bringing. If you are referring to the origianl tax forms that use to have to be nortarized (I did this for my application) I beleive jsut a copy is sufficient for the interview. We are bringing copies of all forms previously sent to USCIS and origianl documents of support. Our interview package has been bound and coded and a second copy has been made for USCIS in case they would like to keep anything.
Good Luck on your interview!!
