Is this legal?

well it was the lady at the embassy suggest i sell it to make my money back.I didnt even think about selling it untill she said!

The immigration lady at the Embassy told me to sell it to someone to get my money back as they do not issue refunds.

there is no case number or anything on it.. its a basic receipt from the bank. One copy for you one for the embassy

I would never have thought about selling it if the lady at the Embassy hadn't said anything!

I got my VISA! 11th Dec is the date i have picked!!

thanks all for your advice! I got an email from the embassy today saying that if my case from NVC gets there before my interview on the 13th then I will interview for the CR1 and not the K3!!

SO i am very very pleased!

I’m afraid I don’t post on here very often, but I would like to advise you of something which I wish I had done at the time (or more to the point hadn’t done)

My wife is American and I am English, and at the beginning of June I was invited to make an appointment for a K3 visa, but at the same time we understood that our CR-1 was almost complete. So we decided to wait of the CR-1 and not continue to book the K-3 interview. Our immigrant visa did complete in mid July, and was sent to London (received on 9th Aug). But we are still waiting to be notified of an interview date (tomorrow is the 12 week point). One of our huge regrets is that we did not progress the K3, as we really didn’t expect the ‘final stages’ of the CR-1 to take this long.

If you can change your already booked interview then that would be great, but from my experience I would advise strongly not to cancel your K3 interview, as we are now nearly four months from the 'completed' date.

(My wife has had the benefit of spending a large amount of time in the UK during the last 14 months, for that we are extremely lucky, but she returned to the states at the beginning of October and each extra day we spend apart just waiting is heartbreaking.)

Thanks for the advice.. I wasn't going to cancel the K3 interview but just hope the CR1 goes quicker! I'm really sorry its taken you so long to get an interview!! its bloody awful how long they make you wait!! Maybe a congressman in the USA could help speed things up as someone has already suggested!

I 'm in a big pickle right now!! I have my K3 interview on the 13th Nov which is great BUT the NVC sent my complete CR1 case to the Embassy 6 days ago ( they dont have it yet)

I emailed the embassy to say that the NVC had completed my case and could i interview for the CR1 on he 13th instead of the K3. I sent the email over 12 days ago and have still not had a response. So I called the London embassy today and they couldnt tell me anything!! The girl was not very nice on the phone either!

To top things off I am sick from the MMR vaccination I had to get at the medical! ( which i already had)

I really dont know what to do!! I really want to interview for the CR1 and dont want to have to come back to the UK for it!! I booked my flight for the USA for the 11th Dec but i guess that can be changed if need be! Has anyone else had this problem or in the same boat??

Yay!! I got a letter in the mail from the USA embassy in London saying I have my interview on the 13th Nov!! I cant believe it!! I am so happy!! ALSO.. called the NVC to see how my CR1 was coming along and they said the case is complete and they are sending it to the Embassy. So i called the embassy asking if they can request my case from NVC so I could interview for the immigrant visa raher than the K3.. they told me to email them with all info.. so I am just waiting to hear back from them

it doesnt matter which one i get just as long as I can be with my hubby for xmas!

I just called the DOS to see if there was an interview for me yet.. and the woman said that either the london embassy has not recieved my packet 3 documents or they have not put it on the systerm i yet... They got them on the 2ndOct I sent it recorded/next day delivery!! So just wondering how long before they input my stuff and give me an interview date! have my medical on the 16th so hope the interview isnt too long behind!

Thanks for all the replies. the best senario would be if they got my CR1 stuff at the embassy and I can take the interview for that instead of K3.

Adjusting status in the USA.. Do I do that when the NVC complete the case for CR1?? I'd rather not have to fly back to the uk as flights are expensive as you all know.. Thanks for all support and words of wisdom!! lets hope we all get to be with our loved ones soon!!!

Hey there.. ok I have a question but I have to explain where I am in the whole process...

I am going for my medical next week for my K3 and am just waiting on interview date ( which will be soon i hope) However, my CR-1 is at NVC being reviewed before the case is completed and sent to the London Embassy ( they said 2 - 4 weeks) so I'm not sure what to do!!

Once I have my interview for K3 and go to the USA what happens with the CR1?? is it still sent to the London embassy?? How do I get my greencard...?? I also wondered if I have the medical for the K3 do I have to have another one for the CR1?

its all a bit confusing I hope someone knows the answers!

Thanksso much I am on hold now for a visa specialist ( 10 min wait)!! I hope its good news and they have an interview date for me!!

Hello I just tried calling the department of state on 001 202 663 1225 as I was told I could maybe find out my interview date from this number.. but I have tried several times and cant get through to an operator it just keeps giving automated information!!

Does anybody know where else to call to find out your interview date for London?? I have my medical next week and would love to know when my interview is.. it cant be too far off right???

Yup its a bloody pain inthe neck! I am still waiting on my interview dats but for my K3. I have my medical next monday and am getting the sleeper to london from Glasgow get there morning of medical and coming back the same day. Flights werent going to work out time wise and were a little bit more expensive!

Then I'll have to do the same again for the interview! Nightmare! Oh well it will be worth it when i get the Visa and get to see my love again!! cant wait to get to CA its getting cold here in Scotland!!

I am as confused as you!! I have no idea which jabs I need to get if any at all. I got MMR, polio, dip, tetunus & menegitus ( dont think thats how you spell it) all at school!! But I have no Idea about the rest on the list I got from the NVC...

I was just at the doctors today to see about my vaccinations... they told me it will take a while they have to search through my very messy looking file for all my vaccination history! btw.. do we have to get the HepB vaccination.?? My nurse said it is very costly and it supossed to be done over a period of 6 months??

Which vaccinations DO we HAVE to have??

Just found out our K3 has now been sent from NVC to London Embassy.. I know my hubby ( who is petitioner) has to fill out an AOS for the interview ( well I thnk he does anyway) Just wondered which form it is so we can have things prepared in advance.. Getting mail to and from CA is taking its time at the mo!

It seems as though alot of people have had problemss with the supporting documents (us included). He might want to try and get the certified copys from the IRS and see if that makes any difference.

Oh, and if you want to work and travel:

I-765 - employment authorization

I-131 - Advanced Parole

PS. you can find Irn bru here if you kow where to look.

Whay problems with what documents exactly!? And who fills out what.. I am guessing 1-864 is done by hubby... I already have a socail Security number from a previous J1 visa I was on in 2004 so not sure how that is going to work for me?

Any idea how long after the embassy get the K3 stuff they send u packet3?
