The person I spoke to at USCIS this morning said they could have the NYC office call me to set up an appointment as my stamp was within 60 days of expiring, but I don't know if that's the standard everywhere or just for the NYC office.

In the past I've always timed it so that I get a new stamp around a month before the current one expires, and they've always just extended it for a year.

Oh cool, that's good to know!

Sorry that you've been waiting so long, that's truly a long wait you've had.

I only really think about it when my stamp comes up for renewal, or (pre-pandemic) we have travel planned, or whenever I have to go to the dreaded DMV etc. Otherwise I just get on with day to day life. It would be really nice for it to not be a consideration any more though! I have considered applying for citizenship to see if that would prod them into action, but I'm loathe to give them more money to just sit at the back of a new queue!

We'll all get there eventually....I hope! I'm meant to leave the country in early February for a family wedding, so I'll have to keep on top of scheduling an infopass appointment. It should be fine to try and schedule it before my current stamp expires, right? Or will they make me wait until my current one has run out before giving me a new stamp?

I also don't think of it too much, but I'd definitely like to be done with it! And I need to save some money before applying for citizenship!

Anyone else still waiting? Next month will the one year anniversary of when I was first notified I was awaiting my interview scheduling by the New York City office.

Currently waiting on a call back about an Infopass appointment as the stamp I received in December 2020 is set to expire again. Been advised it may take 30 days for them to call me to set up an appointment, which I didn't realize.

I'm travelling out of the country for two weeks in early November (returning on 18th November). If I'm unable to get an appointment (and the updated stamp) prior to departing for my trip, there won't be any issue with me returning to the US if my stamp expires mid-December, right?

I'm still waiting. 587 days since "waiting to schedule interview" notification....

I also didn't realize it would take that long to set up an Infopass appointment. My stamp is running out in January. Feeling a little helpless just sitting around waiting for things to happen!

I just got back from the interview,I-751 approved and N-400 approved. I am now an American citizen, it took almost 26 months. The officer did the combo interview and also my sworn.  It was pretty straight forward, my wife stayed the whole time inside the office with me and during citizenship interview.

    Good luck everyone!

    Congratulations!

Hi all! Quick update. Got notification today that my interview is scheduled for my i-751 and also received a letter for my n-400 saying they will reuse my biometrics. I went in for an infopass Dec 20th and got an extension, the officer said I will probably have a combo interview so I hope that happens. I was waiting for an interview since April 2020, applied for i-751 March 2019 and n-400 April 2020.

    That’s great news! Good luck!

Just seeing this post after searching for other people in Salt Lake City. Check my time line. Applied to remove conditions in May 2019 and it’s been waiting for an interview since April 2020. I applied for citizenship May 2020 and they will take my finger prints end of January 2021 which is over 8 months after I applied. Things are moving very slowly for my wife and I.

I’m sorry it’s taking so long for you :( I’m hoping to save enough money for citizenship this year. I was able to make an infopass appointment so at least I’ll be able to make some progress. Good luck!

  7. If I’ve been stuck at “ready to schedule interview” since March 2020 is there anything I can do to inquire as to when the interview might be? Or given that the case is now at my local office are we forced to sit and wait? Now that my extension letter has run out it’s starting to have an impact on job hunting, college applications, etc as I no longer have current ‘proof’ of residency 😢

My case is still ready for an interview since March... I submitted an inquiry in June and 2 weeks ago I tried to submit another one and it said my case is NOT outside of normal processing times. 2 weeks later received a response on my inquiry from June basically saying “ you will be scheduled for an interview when you are scheduled for an interview” Also applied for n400 in April but nothing for that either. Anybody still waiting for an interview?

I’m still waiting too. And my status is also at “ready for an interview.” I’m getting tired of the waiting!

I just did some research and turns out there are two types of updates; Hard and soft ones. Mine is soft. It does not involve any change in status. It bears saying that I sent ROC package on September 9, 2019. so I'm not expecting any kind of progress on my case.

Here is a link on LUD: Last UpDate

Does anyone have a working link to register for USCIS case tracking system? The one in that article doesn’t work anymore :(
