  1. I am self-employed and I am falling behind the adjusted gross income. So I am planning to add my assets. How much should be the difference for married couples? As far as from my understanding, for example, if my adjusted gross income $13,000, and I am falling behind $8,000 poverty guidelines,  $8000 x 3= $24,000. I should have $24,000 in my bank account. Is that right? I just want to make sure if I am on the page.  If I have $13,000 adjusted gross income (line 37) and have $24,000 cash in my bank account would I be okay?

"In order to qualify based on the value of your assets, the total value of your assets must equal at least five times the difference between your total household income and the current Federal Poverty Guidelines for your household size. However, if you are a U.S. citizen and you are sponsoring your spouse or child age 18 years of age or older, the total value of your assets must only be equal to at least three times the difference."

  2. We just got an update with uscis. The interview has been scheduled.

I know that they dont tell us the date of the interview but I know, we will receive an interview notice in the mail soon.

Two weeks ago I asked the congressman to expedite i -131 and wrote a long letter that my wife is sick and needs to go to Turkey for treatment. They denied and asked for evidence. SInce she feels better I did not go forward.

Two weeks later, received the interview notice. I guess this has kicked something. Just want to let you know.

  4. We are all at the same boat! Spoke with congressman and she said uscis is messed up and over 60 percent workers resigned from their job. And they are not hiring! She said a lot of political stuff going on. However one of my friend got the interview letter last week. Less than a year he is going an interview but he was married at 2015. He waited his wife to become a citizen. Wait that’s all we do.

  5. I need an advice. My wife is very very sick. We went to doctors but we can not get much help. They gave my wife one of the most strongest controlled substance painkiller. Once she takes it she is okay. But is she doesn’t take it she can not even walk. It might be fatty liver but they said no they can’t say anything. They keep giving controlled substance. However if she goes to turkey she will get a treatment next day. You don’t need insurance in Turkey. Also our insurance doesn’t cover everything in here.

I haven spoken with senator and she emailed them about my case. The interesting part she did not ask any evidence. So if I get denied from expire I 131 can we apply again.

Seing my suffering like like this is killing me everyday. I have never seen her this bad before.

Congratulations! Isn’t it a relief when the wait is finally over!? I know though that the relief won’t let hit until that card is in your hands..

Ours took less than a week to arrive so fingers crossed yours is in your mailbox within a week!

I guess the real relief would be the green card. Who would think the green card interview will take over 15 months?

We got a letter from the Ombudsman saying it was approved on the 13th. Update from USCIS on the 14th stating review of biometrics was approved. We forgot to update our congress man about the Ombudsman case reply and they replied to us as well on the 15th stating it was approved on the 13th(oups.) Every letter said we needed to wait 30 days for the card though....

We figured if we didn't get the card before we need to leave we would take all this to an infopass and get an emergency stamp though based on all this 'approved' language which they should be able to see. However yesterday we got the notice stating the card was approved and it would arrive separately. I am hoping that means the card should arrive within 14 mailing days of this letter based on everything else I see! Feeling much better and we did tell everyone it was back on now.

How long did it take to ask the obdusman get involved in it. Our AP is expiring next month and still did not get the card yet. Also looks like the interview is gonna take more time too.
