What’s your timeline for N-400? I’m surprised that your wait time hasn’t updated? Mine’s was stuck on “taking longer than expected" for about 1 week and then it updated from completion time September 2020 to completion time December 2020 and estimated wait time 2 months (now 20 days).

My completion time was August 2020 initially now is November. It has updated: after being stuck on "taking longer than expected"  for a month, in July it started again to count down and again went to "taking longer than expected".

I got that same message ”taking longer than expected” 2 months ago then it updated and they added another 2 months to my waiting time and now it’s down to “27 days” estimated wait time.

When I called I just got lucky I spoke to a very nice customer service representative and I told them my green card and my 18 month extension expired and that I needed to renew my driver’s license. She understood and sent my request to a scheduling queue. Then waited about 1 day and got a call back from a immigration officer and they verified some info (basic information) and then I was scheduled the earliest available Infopass appointment.

Glad to hear you got your appointment! Hope everything goes smoothly.

I don't have much hope  this process will end this year. Mine is stuck on "taking longer than expected".

Update* Got a Infopass appointment for a I-551 stamp on 9/10/2020. Also my N400 has now dropped to “29 days” estimated wait time. Hoping this time the estimated wait time is correct. (Hopefully not the “taking longer than expected message”).

    Hi

Just curious if they gave you hard time  and what convinced them that your situation is an emergency.

    Thanks

BTW my countdown went back to

"We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time."
    🙄

  4. So I was able to renew my driver's license. But this is a one-time extension and will be valid only for 4 months till December. Also the Georgia DMV doesn't give any written letter stating that they cannot renew my driver's license. So after this extension the only option will be to have the stamp in my passport.  I don't really think that my cases will be done by December so I'll need to deal with USCIS appointments again.😫😱😱

Anyone’s time increased once there timer ran out? My completion time was “September 2020” it updated today and now is showing completion time “December 2020”!!!?? This process is making me go crazy! I won’t be able to vote this year! This is ****** ridiculous!!! 🤬
my estimated wait time also expired but now they updated it showing “Estimated Wait Time 2 months”?!?!

Mine was August and now it got pushed to November. Can't believe that this process will drag on much longer.

Can anyone offer some help? I’m waiting for my N400 interview and my I751 is still pending since November 2019. My extension letter expires on August 30th.

Everything else also expires on that date like my drivers license and my nursing license. My job keeps telling me that I must renew my nursing license or I won’t be able to work. I called USCIS a few days ago and yesterday someone called me back. They gave me an extremely hard time. They would not issue an infopass appointment and claimed “there’s no appointments available”, try calling back with 10 days.

After that I had a major breakdown, what am I suppose to do? It’s looking like in a few weeks I’ll be jobless with no drivers license and no one cares. I tried to explain that my job pays the majority of the bills, but they did not care. I felt extremely hurt that they can’t just put a stamp in my passport. I’ve waited nearly two years for this I751, we’ve paid thousands of dollars into this entire process, I went to school to better myself, and at the end it’s “there’s no appointment, we can’t do anything.” I even offered to drive anywhere in the country to get a stamp, same thing “uhh no appointments”.

My N400 original case completion date was for September, but now it’s likely some time into 2021. What do I do? Not work until then? USCIS has no solution for this!? At this point I’d pay extra just to expedite the process because this is absolutely ridiculous.

Is there anyone in specific I can talk to at the 1800 number? (Already spoke to tier 2). Is there anyone that can help? Losing my mind here 😭

USCIS gives very hard time to schedule appointments. However your situation seems to be an emergency under their rules. I was told that a letter indicating a potential loss of employment should be presented to get an appointment. You can try to get one and contact USCIS again.

    Good Luck!

The info is actually on the Georgia website. Says u must have a expired or expiring DL and must show your I-797c (NOA) to only get a one time 120 day extension. I know it's not a renewal but might as well ask about the extension if your USCIS extension letter is still valid. But I would print out your receipt for n400/i751 or even the your USCIS account page to show them youre processing.

    Very bottom

Might as well get this one-time extension. Who knows maybe n400 will be done during these 4 months.🙄🤦‍♀️

I am also in North area, got my Naturalization paper and was able to make an appointment for next Friday on Norcross DMV. You might want to check which DMV might have opening around on the website.

Congrats on becoming a citizen!! 🙂

Norcross was booked for the next 2 weeks unfortunately. Need to look for other centers.

Have you tried renewing online? I just did that in NY. Not sure if Georgia allows this. In NY, you can only get the Real or Enhanced ID / driver's license if you go in person. I had 2 appointments pre-COVID at the DMV and their systems were down both times! 😭 So I gave up on the new ID / driver's license, filed my application for renewal for old license online, paid $85 fee online, went to pharmacy to take eye exam, and boom - renewed driver's license in the mail 2 weeks later.

Unfortunately Georgia doesn't allow that. For non citizens it's in person only.

What city in GA are you residing? When does your driver`s license expire?

Atlanta, northern suburb. it expires  next week.

What is very odd and also annoying is that some people claim they had absolutely no problem getting an infopass appointment without reason or even for renewing their drivers licenses and some people are getting a hard time about it.

Something seems off here, honestly. I don’t understand why there isn’t one standard procedure for an infopass/extending green cards that applies to everyone.

USCIS will eventually get sued over this especially if they keep picking and choosing who can get an appointment. They need to extended the extension again if they’re going to keep messing around. No reason they can’t approve these green cards and interview for N400 at a later date.

Yes, no clue why USCIS didn't automatically extend green cards for all so people won't ask for infopass appointments so less work for them. This whole situation is ridiculous and upsetting, each USCIS agent gives me  a list of different requirements.

Same here, my extension expires in 30 days. They did not want to hear it. I had to fight on the phone to get a call back from an officer only to be told "drivers license renewal isn't an emergency", but apparently traveling is. Go figure, traveling during a pandemic is ok with them. I guess we all need to start planning trips to be able to carry on with life.

The handling of this on USCIS's behalf has been terrible. They should've automatically extended green card/I751's that are being held up by N400 interviews so that people could still carry on with life.

now they want a written letter from Georgia DMV stating that they cannot renew my driver's license. I am not even sure I can get one. not only that there are no open dates for an appointment in DMV offices before my driver's license expires. and I was told about this letter only today, talked to maybe 5 different agents and none of them ever mentioned this.

It's just absolutely infuriating. We all paid ~1500 dollars on naturalization and 10 year green card and they won't even put a simple stamp.

  11. I got a call from USCIS about scheduling an infopass appointment and they told me there are no available dates in Atlanta field office! I need to call back again. Because renewing a driver's license is not an emergency🤦‍♀️ they are unable to open additional appointments for non-emergency situations. This is so frustrating. Btw they don't even take any steps unless your driver's license expires in less than 10 days.  Now mine is expiring next  week and still can't get even an appointment. I am getting nervous because it's very likely I won't be able to drive soon and there's no way to run errands without a car in my town.

Update on my story: today I received a call from USCIS. The officer was very nice and sounded informed about my case.  I mentioned that my DL is expiring and DMV will not give me a new one unless I prove my residence. She scheduled an info pass. I suggest calling, and if the customer service reps are not helpful,  try to get a tier 2 officer. Good  luck!

Glad to hear it. It's an amazing news.

    Hope everything goes smoothly!

Definitely going to call them soon.

I am exactly in the same situation. I called USCIS in early June, and they did not give me an info pass. Immigration officer told me to call back when my drives license expiration approaches. I did that as now in two weeks my license will expire in two weeks, and they said an immigration officer will call me back in 5 business days to determine whether they can give me an info pass. Immigration officer never called. So I called their customer service to follow up, and they said that I am no longer in the queue for a call back as they don't consider this an emergency. I tried to explain my situation, but the customer service rep hang up on me. I tried again, hoping that someone else will be more sympathetic. The second officer also repeated the same line; that this is not an urgency. All they did was to send me an online survey after the phone call whether I am satisfied with USCIS services.

    Good luck to you.

    Thanks for the answer.

That's so disappointing. How are people supposed to go on with their lives without driving?!!

I don't even qualify for an automatic renewal.

Maybe we should try to talk to a Tier 2 employee as nagylyndsey advised?

    Good luck to you too.

Hey guys the estimated wait time below is the next action on your case. So you might hear from them in a couple of weeks. Either interview or ceremonies. I’m at 18 days estimated wait time. Atlanta Field Office.

i hate to disappoint but the wait time doesn't really mean anything. On my account after counting down 30 days now it shows

We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time.

I am also Atlanta Field Office.

  15. I came to the US on my K1 visa. Now I should apply for adjustment of status

I am having very hard time to get my i963 form done.I live in Atlanta area and I can't find a civil surgeon who will just transfer my vaccination records to this form, they all want to do a med exam.

Is there anyone who lives in the same area and who did this process without full med exam?

  16. hello to everyone

I wish good luck to everyone who's still waiting for noa2, nvc number and interview :)

Last week I had my medical exam and I was told that two MMR vaccination shots are needed. first of all during my childhood when i got most of vaccination shots there were no one MMR shot in my country I had separately Measles and Rubella shots numerous times and Mumps just once. the doctor says i need a 2nd MMR shot. I would like to ask if someone of you had a similar situation?

  17. Try and write them a mail and explain that you have already booked it and so on. Maybe it's just fine and maybe not but then you have contacted them at least.

I'm sure you will be fine though since it's already there.

Dear Georgia16, thank you so much for your quick and helpful answers. i am a bit calmer now.

i think i'll wait for couple days if my appointment is not cancelled. if they don't contact me next week i'll contact them.

  18. Please fill out your profile so we can see where you are from.

Hopefully you will be okay since it's already at the embassy. Some embassies just don't open up so far in advance so it might look like there are no dates but they just have open up for those dates yet. (Maybe don't know your embassy or even country!)

I am from Armenia. I read here on VJ there were people who waited for 3-4 months. seems scary to me.

the appointment is however on 31 May so i hope i'll be contacted by that.

  19. Most embassies don't want you to book before you hear from them. Why didn't you wait?

Dear Georgia16, i read that people wait for months to have an interview date in my country's us embassy. so when i registered on their online appointment site there was ONLY ONE free day for k1 visa so we quickly paid the visa fee and booked that day because there were no free dates for june, july august.
