  1. Hi Lyndel,

I supplied my financial status instead of the I-134 supplied by a fiance/spouse. My fiance was going through a crazy busy time at work and was too slow in getting together the I-134 supporting documentation for my liking!! I'm not known for my patience so I decided to show them I have my own funds (one of the options on the Packet 3 paperwork).

    Michelle

  2. Congratulations on your interview date Lyndel!

I just got back from Sydney - K1 AND K2 APPROVED!!!!!

Flights are booked - leaving Australia for Los Angeles on 26 January - I feel like a bit of traitor to be leaving on Australia Day!!

Thanks everyone for your support and advice. I read and re-read the Sydney consulate reviews so I knew what to expect. That was a huge help. :)

  3. Hello again everyone!

Another quick question for those who have already been interviewed at Sydney.

I have attached my 2 photos to the 2 DS-156 forms in the place indicated. Is this wrong? Just noticed in the embassy review page that several members have said they were given separate and the consular officer attached them. I know emphasis is placed on putting things in the right order and following the instructions.

Will I be getting off to a bad start?

Probably a silly question but getting really nervous for Monday!

  4. Hi everyone!

I've just finished putting together all my paperwork in the correct order - I have my interview on Monday YAYYY!!

I've read the embassy reviews and people state paying the fee. Does anyone know what the fee is?

I'm fed up with fees! I have to fly my daughter and I from Perth to Sydney for this interview (school holidays aren't cheap)! Our medicals cost $600 (seems a bit on the high side to me!). Just paid our 2x $130 at the post office. What's next??!! I sound like the Mastercard ad!

  5. Ok I've come to the UK forum because I've heard a lot of UK applicants do this.

For the sake of expediancy I would like to show financial support using my own funds rather than getting my fiance's I-134.

Is there a form / template to use for this?

I will have about US$180K to take with me when the house is sold but I do not intend to work when I arrive. Will that get me over the line?

I would really like to book my interview appointment ASAP so any comments / advice appreciated :)

  6. In Western Australia you have to use the Australian Federal Police and make the money order out to them.

WA Police refuse to do fingerprint checking so I had to wait 5 weeks for an appointment with AFP!!

I can't wait to be in the US next Thanksgiving and do the big roast dinner for my hubby - I just need to learn how to cook!!!

  7. Hi all,

I haven't been in the Aussie forum much as I spent a lifetime waiting for the I-129F approval!

I received my packet from Sydney and I'm currently collecting all our documentation.

I've got a question regarding 'applicant's own funds'. Is there a prescribed form to use for this?

My fiance is providing a I-134 also, but as I have to fly from Perth for the interview I want to have more than enough evidence on the day of interview.

    Any pointers appreciated! :)

  8. The main thing is to have an NOA2 in the mail (in hand). The USCIS is not known for being real good about sending out notices promptly and accurately on their web site. As long as you have an NOA2 in your hot little hands that is the most important. In my case they finally posted the notice on their web site more than two weeks after I had received the NOA2.

Now that you have the NOA2 finished, get the remainder of your paperwork together. Someone else is waiting too, you know.

What is the content of NOA2? I received an email on Oct. 27th that my I-29F case was approved but the actual letter is MIA.

    Thanks

The NOA2 IS your approval. You should receive the snail mail copy any day now.

  9. (F) Congratulations Michelle!!!

I felt so bad for you when you announced your denial. Glad you survived all the pitfalls.

Hopefully the rest of your journey will go smooth. Good Luck!!!!

I think you have me mixed up with someone else - we were never denied (although lately I had feared it)!

Hornet & E&K - check your mail! We were touched on 11th and then received approval by snail mail on 18th! It took a week to get to my fiance and he lives 40 miles from CSC. Yours could be close.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. :)

I thought I had updated my timeline but I'll try again if it didn't take.

  10. I can't believe it - we've finally got our approval!!

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice and support through this process.

I haven't been online this week - I'm on vacation in Queensland and then next week I'm flying to Los Angeles to see my baby. Ironic that the week I didn't bother to check is the week it finally happened!! To all the other approvals this week - CONGRATULATIONS!! My thoughts are with those still waiting.

    xxx Michelle

  11. :(

I was going to agree with the OP that perhaps as CSC is now getting some approvals from August/September in under 90 days their focus may have been directed elsewhere. And that would be understandable - if there wasn't people still waiting from March, April, May and June. But they can't (shouldn't) just throw all the pending files in a box to work on something else.

We all pay our $170 which is supposed to cover all USCIS costs so they don't need additional funding (apart from backlogs). But any backlog initiative from 2001 would not have been targetting IMBRA backlogs.

As usual $$$ rule the world! I still think it's wrong that an employer can pay the premium processing fee but a fiance can't.

I know Kitkat and Kristen are well informed, but God I hope they're wrong! The thought of anymore delays is just too depressing.

  12. I didnt got any response from anybody so it means its only me who been so long waiting for NOA2 still under waiting 170 days gone and i dont know how much more days to go and which day will i have my NOA2

Umm sure it's only you. You waited a whole 35 minutes for peeps to reply before you replied to your own post. You are actually at day 162. I'm at day 161.

Yeah I noticed that too! See his last post - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35217

If Faal can't wait for us to respond I don't know how he is managing CSC!!!

  13. Background checks on K1 level - not always..that's mroe for AOS or CR-1 or K-3s.

NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions after they are received from Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security (CIS) and retains them until the cases are ready for adjudication by a consular officer abroad. Petitions may remain at NVC for several months or for many years depending on the visa category and country of birth of the visa applicant. When an applicant's case is about to become current (a visa number is likely to be available within the year), the petition is forwarded to the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate overseas.

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...types_1309.html

I have read somewhere on the State Dept website before that due to the AOS intent of a K-1 visa holder these visas are treated as immigrant visas which is probably where I came up with the assumption that they would go to NVC.

I don't think we'll ever get anywhere close to understanding USCIS's processes and procedures - it all appears to be hit and miss!!
