if your spouse is in Canada and your consulate is Montreal then you can just email the scan document
i got a checklist too and emailed them the next day , they review it every two weeks .
I got the document scanned and emailed it to them - I received this email this morning
"Dear Sir/Madam:
You cannot participate in email processing because you already submitted a form or document to the National Visa Center by mail. This means you must continue processing your case by mailing your forms and documents to this address: "

Got Checklist today
Does anyone know if I can just email them the document they have requested (long form birth certificate) or does it have to be mailed in?

We filed our I-130 at the end of November 2015 - My husband is a USC and I am a Canadian Citizen, we are currently at the NVC stage, they received our documents May 27th..
We have been together since 2006, married 2010 and have 3 children together - another on the way! I don't want to crush your hopes but I don't think your case is going to get done much quicker.

Hi, my son is 1 year old (born abroad and residing abroad with me and my husband). Does he need a form I-864 as well?
If he is the son of a USC you can apply for a consular report of birth abroad for him - all 3 of our children were born in Canada - my husband is a USC and we got them all the consular report of birth abroad.

Did you send via EP or regular mail? I submitted via EP and it took a fair bit less (19 days), though I'm not 100% sure if there's a firm correlation.
We sent it via EP. Hopefully we are as lucky and it takes less time than the 30 days as well!

No that's the basic email they send everybody. They tell us that so that we don't call them in the first 2 weeks of them receiving the petition. But I was approved on the 5th of May. They emailed me that it was sent out on the 9th of May. NVC received ours on the 11th of May. So I called on the 26th an they told me my case & IV numbers. So give them about 2 weeks then call for your numbers.
thank you for the quick response! We sent in our AOS & IV package and I heard it takes them about 30+ days to review, I was just hoping this didn't mean it wasn't going to take even longer!
Getting closer to the end of this process and I cannot wait!! lol.

I'm hoping someone can tell me if this email I received from NVC is normal or if it means my wait is going to be extended even more! I just received this early this morning.
Dear Sir/Madam,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 27-MAY-16. We are experiencing a high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow 30 days from the date we received your mail for the NVC to review your documents. We are diligently working to reduce our review time and appreciate your patience. The NVC will notify you after our review if there is additional information required or if we are able to schedule your case for an interview overseas.

I wish I would have known about the email processing before. I submitted all my other documents - AOS, IV etc via physical mail.
