  1. did you send the aos, iV document via physical mail ?

if yes then you are not eligible for email processing

for CR1 in Canada , we get the option to chose between physical mail vs email

once selected we cannot change back

i am assuming you sent you aos,IV documents via physical mail

then you need to send the RFE documents via physical mail only

FYI email processing is much faster as compared to physical mail ( 2 weeks processing )

I wish I would have known about the email processing before. I submitted all my other documents - AOS, IV etc via physical mail.

  2. if your spouse is in Canada and your consulate is Montreal then you can just email the scan document

i got a checklist too and emailed them the next day , they review it every two weeks .

I got the document scanned and emailed it to them - I received this email this morning :(

    "Dear Sir/Madam:

You cannot participate in email processing because you already submitted a form or document to the National Visa Center by mail. This means you must continue processing your case by mailing your forms and documents to this address: "

  3. No that's the basic email they send everybody. They tell us that so that we don't call them in the first 2 weeks of them receiving the petition. But I was approved on the 5th of May. They emailed me that it was sent out on the 9th of May. NVC received ours on the 11th of May. So I called on the 26th an they told me my case & IV numbers. So give them about 2 weeks then call for your numbers.

thank you for the quick response! We sent in our AOS & IV package and I heard it takes them about 30+ days to review, I was just hoping this didn't mean it wasn't going to take even longer!

Getting closer to the end of this process and I cannot wait!! lol.

  4. I'm hoping someone can tell me if this email I received from NVC is normal or if it means my wait is going to be extended even more! I just received this early this morning.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 27-MAY-16. We are experiencing a high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow 30 days from the date we received your mail for the NVC to review your documents. We are diligently working to reduce our review time and appreciate your patience. The NVC will notify you after our review if there is additional information required or if we are able to schedule your case for an interview overseas.
