Fastruck got a reaction from Ryan H in Visa in Hand
Well it is real now. Guiying has her visa in her hand and we have booked her flight to Seattle on September 2. Once we got to the Consulate interview stage, everything seemed to go pretty fast and the visa arrived 5 days after her interview. We are both so happy. Hard to believe that we are finally through this process after months of waiting, but all good things happen to those who wait.
So I am busy preparing the house for her and she is busy doing some last minute shopping and saying goodbye to friends and family. It is a very happy and emotional time for both of us, but we finally made it!!

    Harold,
i wrote a quick review in the review section of the Consulate forums. In general it went pretty much as expected, very short. Reading on VJ helped us to prepare for what would be asked but not for the woman that did the interview, she was very serious. Guiying has kept commenting how she just stared at her the whole time. But in the end it was fine and we got the result we were hoping for.

Fastruck got a reaction from Harold_Oakland in Packet 4 Confusion appointment confusion
We tried attacking the problem on two different fronts (I am pretty proactive). My Fiance called the consulate and I emailed CGI Stanley and the Consulate. CGI Stanley responded right away in one day and requested some more information. The consulate didn't respond. After I sent additional info, my Fiance managed to get through on the phone and got things straightened out. I then sent another email to CGI Stanley telling them we had fixed the appointment. They responded that they would close the request to correct it.
If you can't get through on the phone, CGI Stanley seems to be much faster at responding than the Consulate. I would try them.
