  1. Thought we'd receive the actual interview notice this weekend but we only got junk mail. So I'm hoping it's in today or tomorrow's mail so we know how long Benny has to study.

I received the in line notification on the 25th of June, interview letter was sent on the 27th, it was nearly a week after that I got the letter so you should get yours any day :) I posted a link to a site that has all the questions and answers (hidden till you click on them) - great site, I have been studying for a while, just a little at a time - it helps :) Get that man studying starting tonight - you can ask him the questions like the interviewer will.

My date for interview is late August :( I was hoping sooner but ... the end is near :)

you are eligible to apply "88" days before your Anniversary date (3) or (5) years .. look up the citizenship calculator smile.png

Well aware of the process, you would not get the letter until your 30 days is out - look up people's histories. Always helps when you give all the information, someone could have told you you would receive it today instead of making a fuss about contacting senators.

  2. Testing and Interview

On July 8, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address

That good news smile.png .. sound its exactly 30 days before my 5 years ceiling which is Aug/08 smile.png .. it will be very nice and memorial if the interview day on the 8th next month ..happy memories smile.png

Gosh John, you were jumping around wanting to write to senators etc and you were not even eligible?

  3. With all the things we've been put through, my mind turns into jell-o too! Haha! I'll check and make sure, then I'll gather the strength and courage to call USCIS, wait on the phone for an hour+, then speak to someone that asks me the same questions 10 times, and gives me a vague, changing, inaccurate response and decides to transfer the call to the Tier II supervisor with the story repeating itself from the begining and finally get the answer: "just wait!!! The notification we sent says 30 days, but the computer says 90 days!!!" Arrrrggghhhhh!!!!! Two hours of my life lost forever in a black worm-hole!!! Lol!!!! smile.png

Is an interview at infopass easy for you to get to? When did you become eligible?

lol glad I am not the only one that goes to jello - seriously I am an intelligent person, always been confident, have no reason to feel worried, I have never done a thing wrong in my life according to the law - but when I see that sign - jelly-brain lol

  4. Unfortunately the projection didn't work for me. My status saying that I was mailed a notification o get my biometrics taken hasn't changed online, and I have not received any notifications via email, text or regular mail about my case being on line for an interview. Hope I get it soon. wink.png

Did you sign up for the email notification on the USCIS website? I know you can call and ask and I think that is 90 days after your biometrics are taken. I was told that from when the letter is sent for biometrics the background checks start, this is a part of the process that really can't be hurried because of so many outside agencies, involving those in our own countries, doing the checks.

If you didn't sign up online at the USCIS website I recommend that you do :) I hope you hear something soon ... I notice there are a few on the list stuck where you are but some of those probably have forgotten to update.

  5. Well , What I need a "Sample Letter Format" to be sent to the Senator for Expedition purposes , I dont have promise for a job from any employer as current time , I have to get the citizenship first to be able to apply ! ,

Question : Can I hand the Senator Letter to the Immigration officer through the Info pass appointment instead of mailing it ??

There is no set letter to send to your senator and if you are married to a US citizen it is best they write a letter if you do not have a job that requires citizenship. Citizens' letters hold a lot more pull than from a non citizen.

Infopass is a great place to hand a letter over :) but you should cc it to a senator at their address. All you need to write is what you have been doing, how you now have the opportunity to apply for a better position which requires citizenship and would like to be considered for a expedition of the naturalization process, in order to apply. Given that it is not taking long for the majority (they aim for under 6 months processing and seem to be achieving this) I doubt it could get through much faster but I do wish you luck.

The infopass will take the letter to the powers that be at Homeland security - not the senator. That is why it is important to contact your senator by mail. Sadly there are not many short-cuts, and even though I am waiting to start work after citizenship, I understand this. First in best dressed I guess.

  6. I am working As Langauge Instructor for the Special Forces ,Linguist and Culture Advisor , I hhave been serving the Department of Defense in the United States and abroad for over 10 years. I did Got my green card on the 1st 10 days from my entry to the US (Special Immigrant VIsa programme) I really deserve to expedite my citizenship process for all the service I have done and proudly I am still doing it .. I really need help for a sample letter to be sent for the Senator of the State of TN to expedit the process , I am looking to be citizen asap as there is job where my service will be needed on daily bases but unfortunatly without citizenship I won't be able doing it , so if you can help me out for a sample letter for the Senator , I would highly appreciate it .

    God Bless

Good luck, I am in the same position. My future employer wrote a letter for me - I don't think it worked though but at least I tried. You need a letter from them to say they are holding a job for you and that you have passed the interview process. You send a letter to the senator and USCIS. My senator was great.

  7. dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif Guess the letter should show up any day now I hope ......

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

I was inline 25th and the letter was dated the 27th (of June, received it a few days after the 27th) for my interview (August - longer than I expected) so yep, not long now. Interesting looking at April filers - many went really quick and some were soooo slow.

  8. Actually you can set it to email/text you when there's an update. So I personally DID receive an "in-line" email. no text though for some strange reason.

I did not get an In-Line email either, is that normal?!

The text messages apparently stop after they send it to say they have received it. You can sign up on the USCIS site to get emails if they stopped after receiving. I have received an email for everything too.

I was sure I read that the paperwork to give permission to email/text stopped after they received it - could be wrong though, anything I read on USCIS makes me nervous lol

  9. Got the letter today goofy.gif along with N-659 Interview Document Check List.

It's interesting they kept wanting us to bring the same documents again and again. Will they take the original copies away or just for reference only?

Not sure how this forum works for quotes - sorry. they won't keep originals, they will compare them to the copies you sent in. I have found a lot of people that apply right on the three year mark for marriage always seem to have to take absolutely everything in again and again - I guess that is to verify that it is a legit marriage and not a marriage of convenience.

Not long for you now ! Congrats!

  10. Hey, thanks Kanga for the quick reply, so I will receive the email in a week time for the schedule ?, yes I have already signed up for the email and text.....so will be checking the updates every day now...thanks again. bye

I honestly don't know sorry :( It seems some that applied a while before me have not heard anything or they may not have come online to update. I have been eligible for a few years now, I am not sure if that is taken into account or not (I could have applied in 2009 I think) I think it depends where they are lodged too and the field office. Some of my friends waited months for an oath ceremony yet San Antonio have them every month it looks like. I have also had a whole heap of background checks done prior to sending in my application for high security jobs that I applied for that required in depth background checks, not sure if that has anything to do with it either.

Just remember, they are saying that they aim for 5 month processing time so you are well under that. I hope it happens quickly for you, but let them dot their I's and cross their Ts ;) No one waits forever now.

  11. Hi, I went to get Bio done today(6/26/13), so please! let me know how much more time to be in the line of interview, my field office is Houston TX, so actual count down begins now?....good luck to every body. take care n bye.

I have no idea how this all works, I just send in what they need and panic in between lol BUT I did my biometrics just before you on the 21st of June and today received an email saying that I have been scheduled for an interview and they have sent details in the mail. i highly recommend signing up for the emails. My field office is San Antonio.

  12. Here is an update for my husband's N-400 - he has his interview on July 23rd! We've been praying and so has our pastor so we are very excited to get the appointment notice so quickly!

Congrats! That is very quick isn't it? I got an email saying I was in line today, getting excited now. So your hubby didn't get an in line email?

I was chatting to a friend today that became a citizen in 2004 - it took her 20 months for everything to go through. USCIS have certainly improved :)

  13. sumer,

Let me know the date you become eligible to file for N-400 (better still your "permanent resident since" date on the green card and whether yours is a 3 or 5 years period for naturalization eligibility) and I'll let you know when you will be placed in line for interview.

Anyone else who needs this can give the same info and I'll give you the date for in-line!

PR since January 20, 2008. Filed 5-year eligibility.

    Thank You in advance :)

  14. Didn't hear anything yet after my Bio on 5/28 sad.png its annoying.

Have you checked My Case Status on the USCIS site? Waiting is the worst.

I think USCIS will be just as happy to see the last of me as I am of them lol I have never had a bad experience, everyone has always been very pleasant but as soon as I see the USCIS sign I turn into a blithering idiot! It is like it has a way of stopping my brain lol They must think Aussies are all dopey :(
