It happened to many people you just need to wait for longer time and check it again later. Can you please keep me updated when you get you extension letter? We have similar timeline but I did not get my yet.Thank you. Also did you including a form so you get text with the receipt number? I did not get any but my check was cashed on 19.

Thank you @prok! Yes, it would be an automatic RFE for me if I didn't submit my divorce papers. That's why I waited for it.
Fingers crossed, hoping everyone of us will have a smooth process. Good luck to all

    Two things:

I believe when USCIS gives a “date the letter was mailed”, it means, the date it was processed to be printed. So, while they may say mailed on one date, it wasn’t physically put in the mail that day. That is why letters received have dates that are days/weeks before we actually receive the NOA letters.

Secondly, the representatives who answer our calls are just that, customer service representatives. I don’t believe they are actual USCIS case managers. They type in A numbers, and then whatever the USCIS processors have inputted is in the database. They are not being dishonest. They are trying to provide as much information as possible so we don’t make them have more work by calling again or submitting inquiries online.

USCIS is a government agency, and there are many levels of representatives who do all of the scanning and processing before our cases get to the USCIS agent who will make the determination about approval or not. It is just the way things work here in America. Government moves slowly. The important people who make final decisions are the last people to get our applications. Other, less important and less informed, people, do all of the less important work; therefore, they do the best they can with the limited information they have available.

It’s difficult for us because our lives are in the government’s hands, but we actually need to be patient and wait while the wheels of beaurocracy turn. I’m not saying  don’t call to inquire or don’t submit an online inquiry. I’m saying, don’t overdo it and call numerous times to check their story or needlessly worry about the length of time it is taking. Also, keep in mind that all of the calls and inquiries we make are actually causing unnecessary stress on you.

The reality is, the USCIS wait time is up to 18 months, that’s why the extension letters are now 18 months instead of 12. The reality is if you submit your application shortly before the expiration date of your green card, then it’s on you. It’s not the fault of the government.

All the service center have updated the processing times for I-751, yesterday.
Guess what. All of them have increased the adjudicating time.
    California 15.5-21.5 months
    Nebraska 19-20.5 months
    Texas 17.5-19.5 months
    Vermont 16-17.5 months.

    This is just great.

Just wanting to vent, related to the "bank" that USCIS is making...

I went to visit my dad earlier.  I was updating him and his girlfriend (I've known her my whole life) about where we are in the process and what comes next and how long it might take (2 years possible based on a post I saw yesterday).  She mentioned bureaucracy.  Which, of course, it is.  Then I mentioned that it seems like USCIS needs more people so these processes don't take so long.  And she replied well yeah.. but tax payer money, you know.  Implying, idk... that its better used elsewhere, or hard to come by, or budgets or idk... She's a republican.  And I replied, yes tax payer money goes into it, but so does the $935 we paid.  And the hefty amount that all applicants pay.  And she argued that those fees wouldn't cover all the expenses of the dept.  And they probably dont but damn, they certainly do add up dont they?  And those are funds a dept doesn't have to fight for, like the federal budget.  AND it double frustrates me because she and so many others seem to like to ignore the fact that immigrants ARE TAX PAYERS TOO!

I was getting a little hot and my dad changed the subject.

I just needed to rant to people that will understand.  But now I'm wondering how much of USCIS's budget comes from the federal budget and how much from applicant fees.  Anybody know where an answer might be found?

    I feel a little better.

Definitely...! I actually just checked to see what data is available, and I found this website: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/budget-planning-performance There is a lot there, so I would say check it out, but also they highlight the section I've added below about funding.

    Funding
USCIS is funded primarily by immigration and naturalization benefit fees charged to applicants and petitioners. Fees collected from individuals or organizations filing immigration benefit requests are deposited into the Immigration Examinations Fee Account (IEFA). Congress created the IEFA in 1988, establishing the authority to recover the full cost of immigration benefit processing. This account represents approximately 95 percent of USCIS’ fiscal year (FY) 2016 total budget authority. The remaining budget authority comes from two other mandatory fee accounts and appropriated funding for the E-Verify program. The Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990 requires that USCIS conduct biennial fee reviews for the IEFA. USCIS last adjusted its fees in November 2010. Results of the FY 2016/2017 fee review indicated that fees should be adjusted by a weighted average increase of 21 percent to ensure full cost recovery. These include the costs associated with fraud detection and national security; service and case processing; and providing services without charge to refugee and asylum applicants and to others for fee waivers or exemptions.

    Hello,

I have. We filed our application on 10/1. It was delivered to Arizona on 10/3. Our check was cashed 10/10, and NOA mailed on 10/20. We received our NOA on 10/29, think. I did call USCIS because we didn’t receive it within 10 days as it says on their website. From what everyone is posting here, there’s really no consistent time table for when they’re received. The applications are processed as they arrive to the lock boxes, and they’re very backed up.

I hope this information is useful for you.

    Guys,
I was checking through Case Tacker App to see how many apps they received today... I was blown away, I checked 500 apps prior to my receipt number all are saying fingerprint fee was received. Then I checked starting with my receipt number, another 1,000 and then I stopped. These are all at LIN. I sure the other service centers are packed too.
LOL, USCIS is making big money.

It's going to be a long wait.

I just wanted to put my information for the October filers. I sent my package in on 10/26/2018 to the Lewisville location. They received the package on 10/29/2018. Funny thing is I live in Lewisville about five miles from the location. Wish I could have just hand delivered it and asked them to process it there.

Hello, we decided to jump in October filers pool as well. Our window opened on 26th Oct and we just mailed them. We are in the middle of buying a house so we first thought to wait for a month but then we made the last time decision to file as soon as possible and then change address later. My packet is expected to be delivered on Wednesday.

I will keep you all posted about the procees. Good luck to everyone!

$595.00 for the I-751 + $85.00 biometric fee. You may send a check for $680.00.

You may also pay by credit card using form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions.
    Another option is money order.

Hi. I've also filed for my ROC this month. I read somewhere in this I751 forums that someone filed a  big package. Mine was just the main form, two most recent lease contracts, child birth certificate, 2 joint tax returns, car loan and 15 pictures of us 3, life insurance benefit for my wife, medical insurance policies for us 3, flight tickets for us 3. I didn't even include the affidavits.

By the way, I am in TN so I filed to the Texas Service Center

    Hope that works

I just printed our pictures using regular white bond paper... you don’t need to use photo papers.. The important thing is that your faces are clearly shown upon printing.. because to me, I-751 is more about the actual content as evidences... so presentation is not necessarily a must.. unlike AOS when you have that need to try and impress the IOs... it’s also cheaper to just print using regular white bond paper than using photo paper. Good luck!

S S got a reaction from curiousgeorgina in i-751 interview will be scheduled.. didn't even file for N400 yet. HELP?
I suggest searching google for example I-751 interview questions. There are a lot of websites that will provide basic questions as well as Stokes interview type of questions.  Also, try to imagine what you’d ask someone to find out about their marriage and write your own questions.

It’s understandable to be anxious for any type of interview. Be honest and practice with your husband ahead of time like you would for any job interview. That will raise your confidence level.

Also, I suggest not to worry about a hostile interviewer. There’s a field manual available to the public about USCIS personnel and what they’re required to do and look for. Parts of it are not available to the public, but any information you can gather and read will set you more at ease. Anyone can have a bad day. Think positive!

Additionally, I agree with the others about how to gather more evidence and what to gather. It does take leg work and time, but remember that it is the proof of a real marriage they’re looking for. It’s worth it!

Best wishes to you and your husband!
