Hey Guys today I got my status updated online. I have not gotten the letter yet. But almost done with USCIS. I will update as soon as I get it!

I had my ceremony on Wednesday and I have applied for mu US passport on expedited basis.

However, I need to urgently travel overseas on Tuesday and it is clear that my US passport may not be ready.

Will I get into trouble if I travel on my current non-US passport (Italian passport) and let my wife mail the US passport to me and I will come back to the US on the US passport.

Please advise

I agree with rogoerdiaz. I've heard one should always fly with both passports. Some people have their passport stamp to guarantee entry. The thing is that having a round trip and flying back with a different passport can sometimes give you issues with the airline.

Hey guys I wanted to let you all know that my status just changed and it says that my oath ceremony will be scheduled. Good luck to you all. I will let you know when the letter arrives. I also wanted to highlight that it took just 10 days for them to make a desicion after I got " a desicion could not be made yet" after the interview. Good luck to all of you!

Hey Guys! Just got home from the interview. It went really good. The officer was very nice. But I was not recommended for approval, instead. It said that a desiccant could not be made yet.

My experience.

I got there thirty minutes earlier. About 1:30 p.m she called me. We went in her office and she asked me to sit down. We did the six questions such as; who's the speaker of the house? Name one the two longest rivers in America. When was the constitution written? Who was living in America before the colonists arrive? When did the Declaration of Independence take place? I don't remember the last question. Then we went ahead and did the reading part. I read who was the president during the civil war? Then she had me write. Lincoln was the president during the civil war. Then she review my files. She asked me about my son. She asked what my wife did. She also asked if we had ever separated. Where she worked. If she was a citizen. When we got married. We went through the entire questionnaire about if I was part of any criminal group, or involved in prostitution. She did skipped some questions. She made me sign a few forms stating that I agreed with the pledge of allegiance. She only asked for my two passports, driver's license, and green card. She made me sign my pictures and that was it. I was looking down and she thought I had my phone on. I replied I was just looking at my finger lol. I had brought lots of paperwork and she didn't ask any documents. Since I am changing my name, she said it could take up to 60 days ( if approved) for my oath ceremony. It was kinda sad because some people were told they could go ahead and do the oath ceremony right away. I knew I had to to go to a court to do it, but knowing that a decision could not be made is scary.

Sorry I have not written anything in a while, but it was kind of discouraging seeing people having their cases move on, and I had still gotten nothing. I did read what everybody wrote.

On May 31, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Can anybody update me?

Is horrible!!!! specially when I have to go Spain to visit my parents!! my dad has to pay almost 90 euros to get an official invitation for me, then mail it to me and I need to take that damn letter everywhere I go while in Europe. My husband and baby are process super fast plus no questions asked.

The last time we flew back from europe,my husband and baby passed through costumes in a blink while I had to stand with everyone else for almost 45 minutes. They had to wait for me in the car....I was so pissed

Im for sure throwing a party lol. These are my two cents. One time I did Miami international. My wife is from here, and we were flying with my in laws too. I forgot to sign my affidavit returning. The guy (puerto Rican by his accent) said to me "are you f*^%# kidding me? I asked why. He says. You gotta sign this. And asked me to go to the end of the line. We are talking around 300 maybe. I begged people to let me go back to my spot. I've always been nervous going thru customs. I feel like they'll find a way to tell me no, you can't come in. Lol anyhow, it took my wife and her parents 15 minutes. It took me three and a half hours. Almost missed my flight here. I try to avoid Miami as much as I can. My citizenship gift will be a European trip. Can't wait to see what it feels like to actually feel free when you fly. Going to Canada, and not been able to board, and having people looking at you, was very humiliating. I'll put it on my calendar!!! Thanks for the invite lol.

My passport will expire soon too. One of the things I long for is the freedom of traveling to places I can't like Canada. I tried a few months ago and they didn't let me fly since each airline reverses the right to say "you can't fly sorry". For GC holders starting from May. If you are from Venezuela you'll need a visa. Every time my wife and I go overseas, I stand in line with the rest of the world. I tried to the trick of putting her passport on top of mine and it didn't work. Lol congrats to you all!

That's exactly what I thought! I'm so excited! I'm guessing my appointment letter should be in the mail no later than Thursday. Honestly, the email/ text notification should come with the interview date. But I guess the wait is worth it.

I guessing for may 11-15 for my interview and oath ceremony within the same week or between may 16-23 (Hialeah is famous for having oath ceremonies almost every day). Im so happy it worked out for me cause my mom is coming to spend mother's day with me and she is staying until late june so she is going to be able to attend my oath ceremony.

If you are traveling to India, you might need to have it just in case. Some countries require you to enter the country you are from with a national passport. I am from Venezuela and I am required to enter the country with my Venezuelan passport. I don't know know how it works there though. A lot of people I know always travel with both.

I see. My green card date is after 2011. I'm using the three year rule. I'm so thankful for all you do for all of us.

Is it normal that after almost two weeks I haven't received my Biometric appointment? I'm not an early filer.
