Will Abu Dhabi schedule the appointment? If so, how did they contact you? Did you provide them with your details?

I have created an account and paid online but cannot schedule an appointment, calendars are locked.

if you cant see the dates then there is no available schedule yet. Check again after a week or call the US embassy call center

Hello, please wait for the US embassy letter maybe your case is not yet in their system thus you are receiving the error. I would also suggest that you call or email them to verify your case status.

  2. I get laid off from work due to redundancy on 19 Sep 2016 and did not consider taking the new job offer received from a different company as it would oblige me to serve a 2-year contract. My fiancé visa status was received by Abu Dhabi embassy on 15 September 2016 and i was under the impression that it would be completed 1-2 months. Then I came to know that Abu Dhabi embassy is very slow in processing the visas and would take several months. I can only extend my UAE residence visa till 19 November and I don't think it would be completed by then as till now I haven't heard from AUH US embassy.

Do you think it's okay to continue processing the Fiancé visa in UAE me being on a visit visa in case it takes beyond 19 nov?

Or shall I continue it in Philippines or yet find a job and just pay the penalties in case I wouldn't be able to serve the full term of the contract

    Please help

Hi, i think you can continue here since the embassy you have stated in your 129F petition is Abu Dhabi. If you want it to be transfered to Philippines i think thats another process for transfer. Pls email Abu dhaby embassy before scheduling your interview so they can advise you. Goodluck

  3. Hi

I was able to secure a police clearance while vacationing in Philippines last month but it's not being attested. I am already back in Dubai and got my police clearance in dubai where I stayed for more than 10 years. Is it really mandatory to have an Attested police clearance from Philippines?

    Need your help please. Thanks

Hi you dont need police clearance in ph. you need NBI clearance thats what they accepted during my interview.

  4. The Abu Dhabi embassy received our file on 15 September 2016 but till now we haven't heard from them yet. I know a friend's friend who got approved of fiancé visa last year and she processed it for 3-4 months only with Abu Dhabi embassy too. She said she was the one who set up the interview date. But I researched online it says that we should not set up the appointment from our end, and we need to wait for the embassy to set the interview date.

Shall I wait it for the embassy to contact me or shall I submit the d160 form and set up interview date online?

Hi, you can go ahead and create ds160 and set your interview. You can also email Abu dhaby Embassy to send you the packet3. Are you Filipino? Please join K1 visa journey group on Facebook it will help you a lot. tnx

  5. I agree with Sukie, the tax return transcripts are BETTER.

    thanks :)

You are better off bringing the transcripts to your interview. If you bring the 1040 instead, you will also need to bring all the schedules and W-2s that accompanied the 1040 when it was sent to the IRS. The tax transcript includes all that information so nothing additional is required.

Glad to know :) Thanks for the response.

  6. A 1040 is only 2 pages. (Looks like this https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf )

A complete return must have the 1040, any other Schedules and forms that are part of the return, and the W-2 (or 1099) wage statement.

Other things that might be part of a tax return

    Schedule B https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040sb.pdf

    Schedule D https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1041sd.pdf

Do you think it might be a transcript? See an image on this page of what a transcript looks like http://wp.stolaf.edu/financialaid/irs-tax-return-transcript/

If it's a transcript, then you don't need anything else with it.

Hi, my Fiance sent me transcripts only of his tax return from 2014-2015 as he can no longer get copies of his 1040. Are transcripts accepted for K1 visa interview? Thanks

  8. I had the interview on 31 July and they didn't ask for it, neither did they at the medical centre (Mideast in Deira), I just had to tell them that my interview is scheduled for so and so date I need to take the test (they would ask you for the interview appointment but not the letter, reason being the test must be taken 2 days or a week before the interview so the results are current).

  9. Hi VJer's,

We need your help. Does anyone experience here that their case has been sent to a wrong Embassy? Our case should be in Abu dhabi UAE. But by mistake it was sent to Riyadh which i feel so stupid. This are very important and how they send the cases without checking the place properly.

We called NVC and advise us to contact Abu Dhabi UAE which did already. We sent email since its hard to catch them thru phone. This is so frustrating. Anyone can give us good advise? Is it right to contact embassy and not the NVC to rectify their fault? I believe our case should change as the code in it is refers to Riyadh and only NVC is the one doing that right?

    Please help. :(

omg :( sorry to hear about this. how did you find this out? was it through the nvc letter? Hope it will get sorted out soon.

  10. One more thing. I just said that my fiance can pay the visa fee for me through CC.But i just realize, is that possible coz i dont have any cards to use for online except his card. Or can i just pay cash and if so, what is the procedure? Its just confusing me also coz as per below link, it says we have to pay 140$ prior to our interview and then pay 210$ upon interview? total 350$.

Thank you so much for your response Guys.

I think the site is not updated. you can no longer pay in the embassy. all payments are done online. pls call the embassy to give you a pieace of mind. and yes it does not matter who owns the credit card as long as it gets paid ;)

  11. Hi Thank you again for your response.

I want to know how much did you pay for visa and what is the procedure? Is it online and cash or cc? If cash, can we pay dirhams? Do you know if we still have some other fees to pay upon interview?

    Thank you.

Hello, visa fee is paid online. you will create an account online for you to pay and schedule the medical. After you filled up ds160 you can go ahead and create the profile here: http://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

amount is $265 or AED900. you need to pay it via credit or debit card. another payment is medical. I heard NMC is the cheapest around AED750.

  12. Hi VJ Members esp to those from UAE,

Our case status is 'in transit' now. So i believed NVC has been sent already our case to Abu Dhabi USEM. And i want to get our packet 3 so i can start preparing all the documents needed to proceed for interview even i already have an idea which are those but still i want to make sure. And i guess i can ask them through email. So i tried to email them on this email. 'abudhabiIV@state.gov' using my personal account but got feedback answer that i should follow the below link. But i cant find the right option or box to where i can send email. Can anyone guide me please.
