We're all still waiting, so doubt we have nuggets of wisdom to share about interviews!
In all seriousness, just be yourselves! Take a deep breath, look the officer in the eye, smile, and enjoy the last step of the process! (Well, until RoC, haha).
Good luck! If you can, write a post about your experience for the rest of us. Will keep you guys in my thoughts tomorrow!
The taking a deep breath part is the part that I am having a problem with. We are both so nervous. And for us this is the last step. This year will be our 5 year wedding anniversary so no ROC necessary.
I just wasn't sure what extra stuff I should take....pics and insurance docs....so we decided that our 3 year old is coming too
I will post about our interview. Thank you!

Just came to check in on everyone else's cases and found the other thread closed!
Our interview is at 8:15 tomorrow morning.....
Anyone have any last minute words of advice??

Amazing news!
Fantastic! Congratulations.
Thank you! I feel like we have been holding our breaths for months just waiting for this!

Just got a text and email today that our status updated. Checked it online and we finally have an interview date of January 20!
Fitting that it would be inauguration day, as my husband filed as one of the few DACA recipients who is eligible to adjust status, but would have been ineligible if the next administration gets rid of DACA.

Where do I check for updates on a service request?

I've heard (thanks google) the date processing encompasses a 30 day window as well, so here is hoping!
Oh I really hope that it true! We are just getting impatient!
-
Filing date was march 21....processing time for our local office just went from march 22 to April 20. Our inquiry about case outside processing time that has been unassigned for almost three weeks came alive and got assigned today. Crossing fingers and toes that we get an interview notice soon.
Congrats. Our offices processing time just went from January 19 to February 19.....SO CLOSE!! But still 19 days off!

Hello,
Hubby filed March 11, he was interviewed Sept 28 and got his GC after a week. We were able to travel out of the country already. We were interviewed in the Santa Ana office.
Our fingerprint fee received date is March 9 and we still haven't even gotten an interview date! We are also the Santa Ana office!
-
Completely ridiculous! I follow a group on FB and people from California, Arizona and many other states applied in August and they already had their interviews! Some people applied in the Summer and have their GC in hand. Unbelievable!
Which FB group do you follow? I haven't been able to find may CA March filers and I am trying to find people who are near me.

The mail truck is outside my house... today is day 30 since my EAD was produced. If the mail person doesn't deliver my card today then I'll be on the phone with USCIS. My green card interview is a week from today...
After being at You card is being produced our status on the USCIS website changed to "We mailed your new card" and then to "My card was delivered to me by the Post Office" on the day that it showed up in our mailbox. Has yours only said that it is being produced? Or has it changed to being mailed out yet?
-
You are right, I just called and says Lee Summit, MO for mine as well - March 25th Fingerprint Fee - is that where you are too?
Our fingerprint fee received notice says March 9th. Nothing since then.
-
that can't be right? can it?
Field Office Processing Dates for Santa Ana CA as of: March 31, 2016 Form Form Name Processing Cases As Of Date: I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status September 3, 2015
I said Sept 15 from memory, but actually looking and seeing Sept 3 makes it worse. But that cannot be right anymore because they have already schedule interviews for some April filers at the Santa Ana office.
Plus when I call and listened to the info they automatically give me with our receipt number, it says our app is still in Lee Summit, MO at the NBC office, not our local office.
-
I know I can't wait aaahhh. Santa Ana is also my local office, waiting impatiently
Santa Ana is our local office too. Their timeline just says Sept. 15, 2015!
-
I'm on day 63 and I still haven't heard about my EAD or AP. However, the status for my I-485 did change to "ready to be scheduled for interview." So it looks like the timing is totally random!
It has to be random. I have already found 2 people who filed their AOS packets after us, have the same local field office, but have already gotten their interview date. Its driving me nuts!

So opinion question.....
At what point is it alright for us to start calling USCIS to try and get information out of them on the I-485?
We got the EAD/AP approval on day 46, and it arrived in the mail on day 53...now we are on day 81 and we have gotten no word on the I-485, case status still reads Fingerprint fee received. I just wonder if it is too early to start harassing USCIS just yet. What do you think?

Happy for everyone that got updates and approvals!
Jealous of everyone that got updates and approvals!
And I am actually really nervous since our AOS isn't a standard case. I was hoping that since we have been married for almost 4 years, it would be approved quick. But I guess going from DACA to GC is not going to be easy.

Wrong. Fraud is an absolute pleading for divorce in every state. It is one of a few grounds for annulment in the U.S., as well as abandonment - applicable in this case (maybe). The pleadings for fraud will vary state-to-state, but suffice it to say that it encompasses a plethora of legal arguments. To procure a contract (such as marriage) through fraud will usually lead to a void/voidable contract.
Saying that fraud is legitimate in every state for divorce is actually false. In CA, where I am...and have studied law, the courts do not recognize any fault based reasons as grounds for a divorce. Fraud IS, however, grounds for an annulment.

Yes...I got the same msg for my EAD/Ap combo card. My card was sitting in the mail box when i checked.
I was just wondering because we have gotten the EAD card before but didn't get this notification back then.

Has anyone else received a delivered status update?
I have not checked the mail yet but our case status changed to this:
Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post OfficeOn April 29, 2016, the Post Office delivered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx, to the address that you gave us. The tracking number assigned is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. You can use your tracking number at www.USPS.com in the Quick Tools Tracking section. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschangeto give us your new mailing address.
In all of our 4 other cases we have never gotten a delivery notification like this. I am happy about it but just haven't seen it before

I had the same thing happen to me but mine was for my AOS I am going crazy because I like to know things haha! its like they are torturing us now as if it wasn't enough to make us wait ages they are giving us false hope.
If it had happened on our AOS I would be dying right now trying to check the status every 2 minutes!

Thank you for clarifying! And yeah, I heard that if you have a co-sponsor, we can bypass the financial hurdle. We do have enough saved for the application ($2000). I was just not too sure about the income. I will definitely read the guidelines!
Also, how does co-sponsor thing work? Are the details of that in the guidelines?
Yes there are details in the guidelines. Read the instructions for the I-864 and it will tell you the guidelines and requirements for a co-sponsor.

Something weird to note about my USCIS account. I got a text message letting us know about a status change on the EAD today but I kept checking throughout the day and the last status update was 2 days ago still. No email, only a text. It had me worried as the status update 2 days ago was that the card was mailed.

I have my passport (my last point of entry to the US) with the proper stamp.
Also, as I apply, would getting the I-765 be a better alternative to the DACA?
I-765 isn't an alternative to DACA as it is a work authorization card, and you get that with DACA as well. I-130 with concurrent I-485 is definitely better, as that is for permanent residency (with conditions for the first 2 years in your case) as opposed to DACA, where you have to renew every 2 years regardless of how many times you have done so and you don't actually have legal status. My husband got his renewal DACA application approved last year so he has applied for it twice now, but thankfully we filed his I-485 in March so hopefully that will be approved soon.
We also did the I-130 and I-485 packet ourselves. Although, according to some, I sent in a lot of evidence.
For the income requirements, if you can find a co-sponsor that will always help. There have been people in the March I-485 group that are getting requests for more evidence because they only make a couple hundred more than the income requirements. If you make well over the $20,025 requirement you should be good. But you cannot include any income that you may have, as you are out of status.

Hey everyone,
I don't know how many of you know, but the USCIS website has an account sign up page just below the case status tab. If you guys don't have an app like most of them, maybe you can signup for the web account and signup with your email add your case numbers(receipt numbers) and have you email notification and mobile alerts activated...
I made an account with USCIS and activated both email and text. I know a lot of people go with the apps to get account updates, however, with the USCIS account I actually got the notifications of status change about 8 hours before my app notified me about them. Definitely recommend signing up with an account for USCIS.

I had a whole thing about our interview on Friday and it apparently never got posted.
Our appt was scheduled for 8:15 am. After going through the metal detectors, security and checking in, we were sitting in the waiting room by 8:00 am.
We finally got called at 8:45 am. She apologized that she was running late, got us situated and jumped right in. She never separated us and just ran through the standard questions that are on the initial application. She could tell my husband was nervous and told him not to worry because she had no reason not to approve him. She then informed us that she wasn't going to ask us for relationship proof, as we had submitted plenty with our initial application. Apparently our only hold up was the fact that they had been waiting on our I-130 approval to come back from the embassy that it had originally been sent to (we filed it a year earlier for other reasons) and she had finally received it.
She printed my husband a welcome letter and we were out of there by 9:20 am.
The only thing that hasn't happened yet is for our online status to update to approved.
Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!!
