Hey all. I was one of the 1100- and am feeling like I've been waiting and waiting for my RFE- like some others- for ages, and guess I'm getting a little skittish. When my case was reopened, below was the update. Has anyone else gotten this message? Is there anything to worry about? Is this there anything else other than IMBRA that might be triggering this- or is this standard?
Here is the update message:
"On June 27, 2006, this case was reopened on a USCIS motion, and the case is now in process. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."
No mention of RFE, nothing
If anyone can lend a word, I'd appreciate it!

Here's mine, guys. To be honest, I'm more than aggravated with this whole process. It's unjust, unfair, and really just creates tension and stress unnecessarily. Why doesnt USCIS address things in a manner that "feels" right and addresses concerns? All we're doing is marrying the people we love, for crying out loud.
My prayers and thoughts for everyone here who's in this boat together. Just keep strong, things will come through for us all, and we'll be with our loved ones sure enough. Just a little tired of feeling helpless- we all are, I think.

Hey, rlt- I hope this turns out to be good news for you- and for me. My fiancee was scheduled for a June 6th interview in Rio- travelled a few hundred miles from the Sao Paulo burbs to be interviewed on that date as well. Was notified AT the interview of a "procedure change"- i.e. this IMBRA debacle- which they didn't explain.
I've yet to recieve touches or e-mail updates, but, best of luck to you- and hopefully, to me too!
PS- do they update you via e-mail automatically at the address you use to register with USCIS.gov??

CONGRATS!!!! Best wishes for a smooth entry and best luck with your new life! You're almost there!!!

Hi all, got ~another~ call, unsolicited, from my senator's office- it looks like everyone's IMBRA ordeal is on the way to being resolved.
They spoke with CIS offices here AND Vermont SC. Vermont told them that petitioners should be receiving the RFEs within 3 weeks the latest. The RFE appears to be a few questions we'll have to answer and send back. I was told to call my senator back if I didn't recieve the RFE by that time. Hearing that makes me think that the plans to get everything back on track seem solid.
Hope this brings people some comfort- I know we've all needed it- and thanks to everyone who's been supportive here

RFEs are forthcoming, it seems.
Thats awesome news, best we have heard in a while!
Yep.....saw the document right after my senator called. I'm not holding my breath, but its seeming evident that things are back on track

Hi all,
Just wanted to update everyone here, and pay back the love everyone's shown during this difficult ideal.
Someone just called me from my senator's office regarding IMBRA. A supervisor there attended an immigration conference over the weekend, and she informed me that word will be coming out to petitioners within the next 1-2 weeks concerning what we will have to do!! While I wish it happened TODAY, its better news than none.
She said it seems most likely we will need to just answer 3 questions, and submit them to CIS. I also spoke about any possible backlogs, and she said that it appears that the Vermont CIS will be expediting existing recalled petitions, and that there shouldn't be too much of an issue. I'm not holding my breath on any of this....but am happy to hear the news
If anyone else has heard this, I apologize for the repeat. For anyone who hasn't- keep the faith- resolution is on the way

Good luck, man. Hopefully we're all out of this quagmire soon!

Hey nearlythere,
You have my sympathies- its frustrating, sad, and unfair. Don't worry though- keep the faith, and everything will work out ok....

Canucker,
Thanks for your kind words- taking the time to express encouragement, and bring a bit of extra hope to everyone out there who's facing this problem, is truly an extension of karmic generosity!
I myself am facing this situation as well (like Luis and Laura)- my fiancee is in Brazil, and, was informed of the IMBRA changes at her interview, and then cursorily dismissed with the notice that her papers were back in Washington. This was after travelling 500 miles away from home with her mother to Rio...and after an incredibly smooth and expedient filing and approval process.
Anyways, your words really gave me a bit of sunshine this morning. Thanks for the kind gesture- it brings greater faith
