  1. Hello guys! We had our interview earlier today. It was quick and the IO was pleasant, very easy to talk to. ^^

Also, I got a notification that new card is being produced. Yay!

Hey JAPINATL! Our interview was at 11:45a today in ATL too. I wonder if we crossed paths? How funny..... Our interview was very quick and easy also. Our IO was super pleasant and friendly. We just went in and had a conversation and as we talked he checked things off on the application. He told us we were approved and gave us this form that he and Heem signed saying we were approved. We were SUPER nervous going in because even though I spent days preparing the folder to take we got 45 minutes down the road and I realized WE LEFT HIS PASSPORT! Our IO said he understood and it was no big deal because we provided plenty of copies.

I know we haven't posted much since the early stages of our process but THANK YOU to everyone in this group for your updates, advice and input. With all of your help and the rest of the VJ community we had a problem & lawyer free process of only 6 months. I cannot express my gratitude to everyone enough. Thank You! Congratulations to all that have been approved and with GC in hand and good luck to those still waiting. See everyone in two years for ROC.

  2. just off the phone with USCIS my i-485 is still being processed at NBC so just need to wait on that and see how it goes... my EAD got APPROVED yesterday!!!!!!! ahhhhh omg omg omg sooo happy its only a minor step but ahhhhhhh so happy.. after 6 years i can finally drive again and 6 years i can finallly work again i can finally have state and ID and a driver license which is a good thing cause my passport expires in feb 2017 and its beat the hell up with water damage!!!! They said my online status should changed to approved in a few days and i should recieve my card within 2 weeks

Yay!! That's great news. We were waiting in fingerprint purgatory too. This minor step feels SOOOOO big though, doesn't it? Luckily, Heem had an international driving permit but that expired at the end of June so we are headed to the DMV as soon as the actual card arrives (was mailed on July 10th). I'm tired of driving.... lol

  3. Exciting Update: After waiting for what seemed like an eternity (105 days to be exact), the NOA2 for EAD & AP arrived yesterday and this morning I woke up to a text with a status update to "Card was Mailed". We were so excited we did a happy dance around the living room. :dancing: Now Heem can get to work and our life together can truly commence!! Congrats to all who have reached this point (And BEYOND) and prayers and blessings to those still in the middle of this agonizing wait! Now to wait for the interview.... :clock:

  5. We are doing AOS from B2 as well, from NYC, filing i from early March. Just received EAD on June 13. And from the trend and other forums that I have been following, they are just releasing March EADs, look up threadon AOS March 2016 Filers-- we got ours a little over 90 days but have been bugging them since day 75- to no avail really. Now waiting for interview date.

We just hit the 90 day mark and called for an update on the EAD status. We were told that it was "under review" which is apparently is a good thing according to the agent, it means they are finally looking at it. So I guess we should see progress soon.... :clock:

  6. I think I saw some threads for Atlanta filers somewhere. Maybe in the progress sub-section. Each officer seems to interview only 8 case per day. So I guess the speed depends on how many cases are still pending in your local office and how many officers are actually working on AOS cases. You may see some exceptional case that is much faster than the normal ones in one filed office, my guess is there may be other one just canceled the interview and this case just happens to be the next one in the queue to be scheduled and fill the spot. Lol

Thanks Eric! I'll go searching for the ATL group....I guess that's what we get for living in the laid-back south. lol

  7. Seems like we have got the same time line .. i adjusting from B1/B2 visa too . to my own knowledge, i think Atlanta Office is a bit behind schedule because i have not heard anything since i did my fingerprint and this has been slowing me down a lot from getting a job and all.. sincerely im tired of waiting cuz every other person from another state is getting schedule for interview.. Guess we just have to keep fingers crossed.. i think soon now or later, we need to create a threat for atlanta filler because they are slightly behind schedule

Yea, watching the progress of everyone in all the other states was getting very disheartening. They are getting interviews scheduled and EAD/AP cards approved and received. Meanwhile, we are still just sitting here twiddling our thumbs. I was under the impression (based on USCIS processing times site) that the National Benefit Office handled our EAD and AP while Atlanta handled the I-485. Would all of ours be handled by ATL office if we filed concurrently?

  8. i adjusted AOS from B2 and there are several others here you can find. what kind of advice would you like ?

I adjusted from VWP, timeline in my signature. You're within normal processing times, no need to panic...

Hi Thanks for the responses. I have searched for AOS from B2 and looked through a few timelines. I know we are within the normal processing window and that I should relax-easier said than done. My main concern and area for advice stems from my call to USCIS today. I called today because its day 76 and of course I'm human and got a little anxious :clock: . My husband is such a hard-worker and not being able to contribute to the household is becoming more frustrating/depressing for him. Anyway, the Tier 2 rep gave me some unsettling news regarding his EAD. She stated that the EAD had not been approved because the FBI has not approved my husband's fingerprints (He has no criminal history, not even a parking ticket and is a university graduate and an overall clean-cut guy-so that doesn't really worry us). BUT, she stated that USCIS could not move forward until the FBI does-which in her words could take days, weeks or even months! . To reassure me she made sure I remembered that we were still within the 90 day time frame but that gave me little solace. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced an FBI fingerprinting delay and if so how long did it delay the EAD, AP and/or GC. Thanks again guys!

  9. Hi All! I wanted to start this topic because I have been unsuccessful in finding any stories of success from people granted AOS from B1 or B2 visas. My husband and I are currently in the midst of our process (Day 76) and find it frustrating and disheartening to see the "speedy" AOS progress in other forum groups of K1, Cr-1, etc visa holders. I was just wondering if there are any VJers out there that have filed recently and are in the midst of the AOS process from a B1 or B2 visa so we could compare timelines. Also, if there are any VJers who have previously gone through this B1/B2 --> AOS process I would love to hear your stories as well.

  10. Ok Guys! So we called USCIS yesterday andmade no progress but got some good insight. Here is what happened.

Heem called USCIS and immediately asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer. The lady on the phone asked if there was anything she could help with and Heem told her not at this time. She said that in order for the Tier 2 officer to effectively assist us she needed some information. So Heem told her he was the beneficiary and gave the receipt number for the EAD case in question. A recording stated that all officers were busy and we followed the prompts to schedule a call back. The given approximate wait time was 49 minutes but it took a little closer to 2 hours for the call.

So when the Tier 2 officer called back she got some information to verify identity (full name, address & phone number) then asked how she could help. Heem gave her the back story - Applied March 29th, Biometrics May 12th and no updates or correspondence since and informed her that he was wondering the status of his EAD.

Here is what she said.....At this time she cannot give any information and the earliest we can call to get info is within the last 10 days of the 90 day period-so 80 days post application date (June 15th for us). So Heem then informed the officer of a job offer he received and asked if it would be feasible to request to expedite his EAD since he is so near the 90 day mark. The officer stated that it would be unnecessary because an EAD request still would take roughly a month and just advised him to wait. She also stated that "to her knowledge" a request to expedite an EAD is usually for people who are already employed and their current EAD is close to expiration and an expedite request is not to for first time applicants to bypass the wait time.

I hope all of that made sense and can clear up some the request to expedite EAD questions and approval discrepancies I have seen here on VJ. Not saying she is the absolute gospel at USCIS but her given rationale made lots of sense to us. So we will just continue to enjoy this time together, (I am a teacher and have the summer off - YAY!) waiting on pins and needles, until he can get back out there on the road (he's a commercial truck driver). Happy waiting everyone :clock: -especially our fellow ATL filers! :)

  11. Is there an atl filer in the house ...I filled April first and i receive my first NOA on April 11..

My bio metric was schedule for May 9 ,but I did a walk in may 2...ever since iv not heard anything from the uscis ...no RFE either

Is there any April filler from atlanta here who can compare timeline

Hey! Fellow ATL filers here and we are experiencing the SAME thing! Applied on March 25th. Hardcopy NOA's for all 4 cases on April 11th. Biometrics on May 12th and since then absolutely NOTHING! Case statuses have not updated since April 18th and no RFE's. Glad to know we are not stuck in limbo alone but as you know that doesn't make it any easier. We had originally said we were gonna call for a Tier 2 on June 13th (our 75 day point) but based on your similar experiences we are gonna call on Monday and see if we can get some insight.

  12. I see most people that got a RFE usually get it in the mail within a week AFTER there biometrics appointment... The fact you've gone almost 2weeks and no RFE in the mail is a good thing... I think you may of been pushed onto the next step of "awaiting interview"... If next week comes and you still haven't got anything I think it's safe to say you're not getting a RFE... I know it's easier said than done when you can't view it online

Thanks for the encouragement. (F) I'm almost certain we are progressing well but like you said the unknown makes it a little nerve-racking. Of course I'm back to doing that crazy lady at the mailbox thing..... :clock::jest:

  13. Hi All!

It has been a while since I've posted but I have definitely been keeping an eye on the forum. Welcome to all of the new April Filers and congrats to all of those whose cases seem to be moving quickly, DefGraf & gpiper to name a couple. :dancing: Sorry to hear about all of the RFE's going around but seems like they have all been relatively easy fixes.

Heem had his Biometrics done on May 12th in Atlanta. The process itself went smoothly but the wait to get in was a bit long. For anyone that is having their biometrics done in ATL get there early. The entire process took about an hour.

Patiently waiting for this EAD because all play and no work makes Heem a crabby man. Lol!

  14. I don't know what too think! This takes way too long!! Everyone seemed to get the biometrics letter much earlier.. I've been checking the mailbox for more than a week now. And the online status hasn't changed either since March 25th..

I understand completely. I am at a loss. :crying: This seems to be taking entirely too long. I find a little comfort; however, in knowing that at least we are all still waiting together. Now if people who received hard copies after us start getting their biometrics appointments SOMEONE is gonna have some serious explaining to do. :ranting:

  15. I am so impatient today . Usually i am fine , but when i looked into my empty mailbox today, it just frustrated me. My NOA1 says "receipt date: 8th april" - so when will i be getting that biometrics letter? We wont be here may12th-28th; and i just know that the appointment will be right in that timeframe. I know it..ugh

Sorry for the rant.. Usually when i start to complain, something will happen.

    So hopefully this helps ?

I am feeling the exact same frustration. Seeing the hard copy NOA1s (receipt date of March 29th and notice date of April 4th) calmed my nerves but that was on April 11th and to date Heem still has no Biometrics letter of appointment. I have never stalked my mailbox so hard before.....
