  1. Hello guys,

I came to the US as a K1 visa holder and we got married in January 2017, in Oklahoma. Submitted my process for Adjustment of Status with Combo CARD and got my NOA1 in January 30, 2017. I have done biometrics in Oklahoma as well, in 23rd February I believe. My husband got a job offer to move to Pittsburgh and we moved out here. So I moved the address as it is recommended through the online form and he also submitted his change of address via USPS to the USCIS in Vermont. Everything okay. Oh, I also received my combo CARD in May while we were still in OKC. My question is: My process has 179 days since last status change, and now that I moved the address from OKC to Pittsburgh, PA, is it supposed to take longer because my process would be transferred and go to the end of the pile again? Or can I expect same time frame because the change of address doesn't change the actual USCIS service centre that my process first got in?

    Thanks in advance guys!

P.S.: Also, I am asking this because we might need to move again, so I don't know what to think in order to act properly.

  2. Hello guys,

Just wanted to update you all with my current timeline of No-Objection Statement J1 Waiver, even though I am extremely disappointed by this time/energy consuming process.

    • All documents received by the DoS: June 2, 2016
    • Received Favorable Recommendation: July 5, 2016
    • NOA1 from USCIS: July 12, 2016
    • Online Inquiry Sent to USCIS: August 25, 2016
    • Answer about inquiry: September 2, 2016
    • USCIS Approval Notice: September 21, 2016

It took 72 days for them to simply approve my I-612, it was frustrating. On my inquiry, I stated that my process was taking longer than expected, which actually was, and they answered me saying that on September 2 they were currently processing applications from July 10 (??????????????). If I can count right, they took 19 days to go through applications of July 10 to July 12 (day that they got my process), and that sounds extremely disturbing. Anyways, my last move was to contact the Consulate of Brazil in Washington in September 15, which had a perfect assessment of my case and they contacted USCIS about it on the SAME DAY. They got an answer 4 days later and the USCIS said that my case was currently with an officer and that a decision would be issued within 30 days - that sounded really bad at first.

Along side that, I am filling for K1 visa, and I had my interview without the answer of the Waiver Division. I had the exams done and the interview done as well. I sent them my waiver via email (a copy of the internet page), which was pending, and I am hoping they can finish my process soon. Once I get the actual letter, I will send them a copy, if they haven't processed my visa yet. Let's hope for the best. Wish you all good luck.

I will keep you guys updated,

  3. Dear alexvandv and plinioandrade,

I have filled for the K1 along side with the Waiver too, and my interview is scheduled to 15th September. My plan was to go with the final decision in hands already, but that seems more difficult to happen. I changed the address and the USCIS didn't confirm it yet, which worries me. Also, I hope that the American Consulate accepts the scanned letter (if I ever receive it).

Please let me know if something happens,

  4. Hello plinioandrade,

I did change my address there, but the confirmation is still pending. Weird. And also weird this time that they are taking to give their final decision, I noticed people receiving it after 2 and 3 weeks, or even days after the receipt letter. Let's wait and see. Any news, I will tell you. I will try to call them this week to check it out, but I don't think it changes anything.

  5. Hello Plinio,

I am also a former CSF student, and we are in the same boat. I did get the DoS letter via email, though. Let me share my timeline with you, and I am still waiting on USCIS as well, really stressful.

    Recommendation Sent July, 05 2016

    Fee Received June, 02 2016

    Form DS-3035 Received June, 02 2016

    Form DS-2019 Received June, 02 2016

No Objection Statement Received June, 02 2016

Passport Data Page Received June, 02 2016

Statement Of Reason Received June, 02 2016

I recently got the letter from USCIS and another one from the DoS, that just says what we already know. The USCIS received my process on July 12. Until now, I haven't heard anything, and it took about 20 days to get those two letters at my Brazilian address. Hope to come here with good news soon.

Trying to answer your questions, I don't know what they do with the self-addressed envelopes, but don't worry, they will send all the mail to the current address that you provided them. The newest person that I know that got the waiver is also from Brazil, and she waited 33 days between the DoS Favorable Recommendation and the USCIS decision.

  6. Hello Tassia,

If you maintained connection with him for more than two years, and you can prove it by conversations, for example, you should be fine. Just one picture is concerning, but do not stress yourself unless necessary. And you can go to US, just read the main forum about it, you just may or may not enter the country according with the immigration officer that talks to you, if you have a house, work, car, that is a big step to prove you need to come back to Brazil, which is their biggest concern during your visitation.

  7. Hello,

My fiancé and I are about to submit our application for the K1 visa. However, I am submitted to the 2 year home-country physical presence until october 2016 - 7 months ahead. Since the application takes time to be evaluated, we figured we could start gathering all the information necessary for the petition. With that, if we apply at the end of this month or earlier march, in october I will be actually able to get the visa.

Our inquiry is: Is it actually okay to submit the application still being subjected to the 2 year-rule in this case?

We have read this forum and saw that the actual visa is just provided at the interview, so that is why we started prepping everything, and just wanted to make sure this move is okay.
