  1. #kaze Check out this video I made I think it has some helpful info for you. Actually two of the three websites I cite in it I think will help you a lot. Watch till the end because I show pics of the website that will answer a lot of your questions. Some of it is Philippines specific but the majority of it is applicable to any K1. Hope this helps! Take care and good luck on your LDR!

  2. @Ben&Zian you are so right and i totally forgot about the agencies! lol Thanks for watching!

@MyMistaLovaLova I agree. We also were able to get a lot of questions answered on a k1 visa Facebook page that we were invited to.

PSA Im sorry if in the video it sounded offensive that we don't even need a High school education to file a K1 Visa. What I was trying to communicate was that we don't need a 7 yr degree like a Lawyer to accomplish this task.

Take care everyone and hope you close the distance soon!!!!!

  3. ok so update for anyone who is not at this step yet. I called nvc back for due diligence that I have the correct case number. Number was correct. So then I started googling this topic. What I found is although K1 is a nonimmigrant visa, when you plug ur case number into the ceac tracker you have to do so under immigrant visa NOT nonimmigrant. Im in! Time to pay fees and schedule medical and interview! WOOHOO!

  4. Curious if anyone experienced the same as we are. Our case left NVC 6/3/16 headed for Manila Embassy. I checked the ceac website today and it says our case number is invalid. Not sure if thats generically what it will say when they haven't received your case yet or if it really is an invalid number. I read it back to the NVC personnel on the phone when I received it so I have no doubt I wrote exactly what she said. It could be possible she gave it to me wrong not sure. Jst wondering did anyone else get this same message when checking your status? Debating if this is normal and to give it a few days and maybe their system will update vs calling NVC back to clarify this case number.

  5. I agree with pch1! I also wondered if we should hire a lawyer. But then realized the lawyer will ask me for everything anyway and I will pay him for what, his secretary to type the info? I gathered all the necessary stuff and made 3 identical binders in one day. One for USCIS, one for my fiancee and one for me as a backup. We have been approved and now only have to complete the medical and interview. We filed 2/2/16. My fiancee also has no numerical address. Hers is like "blue house jackson st" lol and we had no issues. Immigration knows things are different in SEA than the US. Don't worry if you can read and don't mind asking for help when in doubt you will be fine and it will save you 1500-3000. Good luck!

  6. I am currently waiting for NVC case # also. I was reluctant to call bc the I-797 specifically states do not make contact unless it has been more than 30 days. But so many people have said that they recieved their number by calling within 10-14 days and NVC was not rude about it. So I gave it a shot. I called on day 14 and was told they had not received anything and that it could take up to 30 days. My next call was at day 20 and they again had not received my case from USCIS and that operator stated it could take up to 45 days. Its baffling why some cases get there in 10-14 days and assigned a number but others can take 30-45 days? Good Luck!

  7. If you have any doubt I would measure it. If its not exactly 2x2" I would make them redo it or pay for a new one. Our I-129F is on hold (RFE) for new photos. Im not sure if they lost ours or if hers was too small as I did notice it was slightly smaller than mine. They did not say what was wrong only that they need new passport photos. The next ones I send in will definitely be exactly to specs!

  8. Ok I have RFE follow up. So as I posted before Feb 2nd mailed I-129fF. Feb 11th NOA1, April 13th RFE notification online (which doesn't specify why RFE). April 18th received RFE hard copy in the snail mail which states they need two passport style photos for both of us. The hardest thing about this is I sent them with the I-129F. The easy part about it is it could be much worse. But to know that I did include our photos and our process is on hold jst makes you scratch your head. I did call them because I thought how lucky would we be if I told them it was there and they looked and said oh never mind we have them right here. Lol I know thats too easy. So during my conversation with them I asked A. did the pics we submit not adhere to guidelines, B. are you saying you see none in my packet or C. did you maybe over look them? Because Im thinking if they did not like the ones I included I definitely don't want to go back to the same photo shop and submit the same ones. Well they weren't able to tell me anything. I thought maybe if something was deficient they would attach an electronic note to your case like photos missing or photos not to specifications etc. All they said was "we need passport photos". So heads up to everyone no matter how diligent or prudent you are about putting your packet together by the USCIS guidelines your chances of getting RFE are greater than you think. I have a friend who is now here with her husband and received RFE during their process for items that they too had included in their original packet. I believe I have also seen people on here say they were RFE'd for items they had already included. Not sure why this is happening but everyone jst be ready for it. Hope this helps. I plan on getting new photos out in the mail this week so hopefully we will be out of RFE status by the end of next week. Good luck to everyone still in the holding pattern!
