  5. Well, we thought we'd share a couple of happy updates with our lovely vj family. We got an e-mail yesterday dated 7/6 that the welcome letter was on it's way. We're assuming that means the green card was mailed out the same day. This is really great becuse we plan to travel in just under 2 weeks and hope to cross the boarder into Canada and won't be able to do that without his greencard (they took his I94 at the interview and told us not to travel out of country until we get the green card because he might not be able to get back in). Our other exciting news is that we are pregnant.:dance::dance: We both want kids so bad, but planned to wait 6 months at least so we could live together alone and get to know each other in our space better. Well, we waited just about that (well, 5 month isn't bad). The due date is March 1. We are just so thrilled and excited and overjoyed and wanted to share with everyone. (L)

:star: CONGRATULATONS!!! And blessings on the baby!!! (L)

  8. So believe me this women did not go through months of IMMIGRATION HELL to just call off a marriage over a misunderstanding!!!!! God rewarded her by sending her a HUGE present to get the HELL out before you get in too deep. Let's pray that her emotions don't get the best of her and she succumbs to the "Baby I'm Sorry's, You are everything to me!!!!" Not as much as that damn GREENCARD!!! Excuse my French. Again NO attitude if I stepped on your toes, just PM me. "cause if it don't apply to you, then no attitute is necessary, and if it does, SUCK it UP, and MOVE on 'cause most times the truth HURTS!!!!

I just want to add one more thing, This is to the Christians on this board, mainly the ones who do the deceiving and swear they ARE Christians. You gotta stop thinking that God is a WHIMPY God!!!! God forgives you for your wrong when you repent! (CHANGE) Not when you do something KNOWING you gonna keep doing it! He don't ROLL like that!!! Did you not read how He punished His people in the Old Testament? Surely you don't think that WE are so special in this day and age that He won't do the same to US? God has not changed, we have changed Him to fit what we want in our lives, which is to have a form of godliness and still party with the devil. Can I get an AMEN!!!?? My point is, you may get away with your devilment on earth or maybe not, He may give you your just desserts early, but remember, you will not be able to SWEETTALK your way into heaven!!!!! So just think about that before you start playing on peoples emotions to get ahead. You are only telling God that the place HE put you in is not GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!

 AMENNNNN! PREACH IT!!! Trust me GOD will issue justice and keep the eyes open of the one trusting him. Like i said too...no woman going through all of that and putting off a wedding. Its sad but I know not a bit of good come to anyone who does another deceitfully wrong. I dont care if its years down the road. I seen it with crazy ones in my life. "Whatsoever a man(woman) soweth, that shall he reapeth".. They must miss that part in their "Study of christianity"..Imma leave it alone...but I tell you what.. One thing that Jesus say and we all gotta take heed in this thing. "WATCH as well as PRAY"...Im a advocate that GOD will show us the signs, its up to us to follow them... I just pray that the woman be fine cuz its so heartbreaking. :crying: Ok im out..PEACE

  9. Now Valentine, I don't know what to believe anymore. Word has it that you supposedly lied to your fiance about being a preacher. SHAME ON YOU!!! Now if you did in fact do that...well yeah, she needs to let your but get sent back home to Naija. Im for trying to keep the peace, but if you just blatantly lied like that, well you can't really be trusted, therefore sistergirl needs to call off everything. If you gonna lie like that, then its no telling what else you will lie about next. Boy, u got some "splaining" to do!!!! :o:o:o

    Sweetee

    Whoa! :o

    **CORRECTION**

    Pastor...

    Whoa is right!!!!!

Lord im trying to keep my mouth shut...but im over here  thinking on just what seems to me is strange...Now I dont know both sides..but Im sitting here thinking this thing out as a woman who going through process. Let me see now..I travel thousands of miles to see a man, spend time and money with him, go against friends and family for him, help him get to states, he move in with friends, I go to his house and take everything and call wedding off and he only been here for less than a month.

...WELL that lets me know she is TICKEEDDD OFF  and to me..im leaning more towards the whistle blower..it appears a lie been told and this woman is devastated..This the actions of a woman who hurt.

Now I see you (Valentine) saying things not being done for religious reasons, which validates that religion is tied in...so maybe you did portray something or being someone you not. Like a Pastor I dont know for sure..This just my opinion.

Ok im babblling but my heart go out to this woman. Im really starting to see more of her view and have not heard it...I cant believe a woman go through all that just to call it off. This woman hurt and if you did hide behind the name of God to get over here. You need to repent to GOD for that...Go back home and leave the woman with some dignity. Lies before marriage? PLEASE thats a shame..and its making it harder for those honest men of GOD who really living right..but then again.....THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE and it ALWAYS will be revealed.

Im praying seriously for folks..cuz this a shame... and Im speaking as a REAL MINISTER..its a shame when ministers of all people go out and decieve..i just think they curse. Ones who suppose to be leaders of people, to protect them spiritually and teach them the ways of truth..Living a lie...well let me shuddup before i get more :( Its a shame..

    Im through on my soapbox.

  10. Well........ A little "birdie" told me that Valentine misrepresented himself, and professed to be a preacher...However, fiance recently discovered that this was a blatant lie...:whistle::whistle:

:help: THE CROOKED CHURCH  FOLKS JESUS  !! I gotta laugh from crying for some folks..if thats the case..thats a sad shame. And God will fix it and ummmmm..i think sistah will too..but ummm..I hate  seeing folks play with folks feelings and worse God..goodness..*shaking head* :o

Molly pass the popcorn and extra butter please...lol..but seriously my heart go out to anyone being hurt...sad..sad

Yo Tari..ummm..when you start working for the ENQUIRER :P I had to go there B) roflmbooo

  11. If U're both as religious like U say then why don't U guys go down to the city hall right immediately U got here and get married then U can plan a bigger wedding for later. How can U both live without being intimate with each other after going thru such a difficult process with the visa???? What is the essense then? Be true to each other and being religious doesn't stop U from doing the right thing at the right time.

 KUDOS Lekan...Im like ummmm..Justice of the peace here I come. Togetherness to me after all that is the key...Talk it out and then my brother..Marry if thats what God leading you to do. Separation with friends and she somewhere else  ummm...nah..thats not good. Do the right thing is all I can say and take your time overall in realizing the commitment that comes with it. As everyone has said marriage is a give and take and many times you giving alot but many just want to take ;) OK im off the soapbox! I pray all works out! (L)

  13. Think positive, positive, positive  All the best with the interview

 I AGREE WITH AUSSIE...Positivity breds so much better results...always think the best..i can relate to you though at times i do the same thing think "the worse scenario in case" but Speak life to your situation and see how God works it out...blessings to you on the interview.

  14. I just thought I'd share with our VJ family that we had his green card interview yesterday. It seemed to go just fine. I'll post details in the AOS section, but wanted to let everyone know that it went smoothly and we expect the card soon.

 CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR HUBBY!!!! :star:

  15. Although I don't doubt that there is scamming going on with men and women of all countries, I half to add that I have had my share of ex boyfriend loosers / scammers from the good old USA. Sure the scam is a different type, but hurts all the same.

Also, just a comment. It never fails for someone to connect Nigeria with Scam. If I had a nickle...........Romance scammers are from many different countries.

 EXACTLY what I been saying..Hurt is hurt...regardless, its no difference whether its for a green card or a new car, money a house..and they come in all colors and countries, sexes and ages...just gotta use common sense, instinct and wisdom regardless..Guard you heart, pray and enjoy life..So yeah im feeling ya sistah on that comment.

  16. Uchegirl,

So if he's gonna be the man in your household in the US, then he needs to show you NOW that he is a man of the household in NIgeria. You should not send him money, and if he guilts you into doing so then that will tell you the kind of man you are going to get, and I say run like HELL!!!! If he is your man and your fiance then he should be sending YOU money to prepare the household for his arrival. Don't let your longing to be together cloud your judgement.

It's hard, but love is worth the fight, but if you're not a fighter then you better take some time and know what you're doing. Part of this is my opinion and part of it is fact, take it or leave it. If it don't apply to you or you're in denial don't get an attitude with me. PM me. But, if that knot is welling up in your stomach because you can relate, you feel me, or you're scared cause I struck a nerve, then listen, PRAY, and take your time in your relationship. In the end it will be worth it! And that's all I have to say on that subject.

 VERY WELL SAID MY SISTER!!! :) TRUE WORDS!!! :star:

  17.:yes::yes: After months of gathering information and waiting on paperwork and not being certain of timing because of a situation my sweetheart is facing, we have finally filed for visa. I want to thank my naijasisters for the encouragement and prayers, with that encouragement I was able to" FOCUS ON THE PROMISE"! I now wait along with my fellow VJ members going thru the process :whistle: ! I am just happy it is done by the grace of GOD!:dance:

 OOOH Laawdy me...time for me to get on my church lady shoes and do my  YOU GO GURLLL!!!! Im sooo happy for you...God timing is the perfect timing....now watch him move!!! :innocent: Yanno Im here for ya girlfriend....BE Blessed.. (L)

    uchegirl

Hey Uchegirl sis, I wanted to add another one of my two cents on relationships. Each relationship in life is one we take on chance, i prefer the word on good faith. We do this many times in life without looking into the situation, however life experiences soon teach us how to discern the rights from wrongs.

My thing is keep the faith if you doing whats right in your heart. You can't answer for anyone else. Life may be bliss or it may bring sorrow..its all in taking a chance. The key thing is you can enjoy your relationship in knowing your heart in the right place, pray that God keeps your eyes and ears open and enjoy yourself. Never let fear steal your chance of a loving relationship by dwelling on suspicions at the same time don't have a foolish heart and ignore warning signs. If you go on common sense and instinct you will be fine. Anytime a person do wrong to another..They reap what they sow. Just know you doing the right thing

Now i know all relationships some have had may not have turned out right. It dont' matter if its a Naija man or a man from Kansas...People will do what they plan on doing...regardless, you can't stop the motives of a person, all you can do is look out for yourself when the signs develope. I feel that the hurt is no different than helping a man get a green card than marryin a man and he goes off cheating and he a American citizen..Pain is pain...My thing is it dont matter if he from Nigeria or not. No one wants to be hurt.

But my thing is...we all been hurt (if you old enough or live long you will be)..the key thing life is not over if fate turns it that way. When you find that peace within yourself and know that you are going to be happy whether a man in your life or what then your focus is clear. Many times I see men being blame, but what about the women who doing things to get a warm bed or have someone help pay their bills. My point is the table can be turned many times. People dont' always show their motives, but soon time will. So are good..Some folks are bad.

My thing is...live your life in happiness and not walking around with fear in your spirit. That steals the joy of what may be a blessed relationship. Keep your mind and trust in God, even if the enemy may try to fool you..GOD NEVER will forsake you and will keep you going. He will give u the strength to carry on. Each day is a learning experience my sister and enjoy it.

One key thing...talk to GOD..talk less to folks in your business...Develope a relationship with true friends who care about your well being, through the thick and thin. I am blessed to have a few..Few the key word...Keep your eyes and heart in check. You will be fine..Now girl go enjoy your man!!!!

NOW THATS MY TWO CENTS IN THE BANK!!

  20. If my Uchenna wasn't here with me, I would probably assume that you were referring to my husband! Common unisex Igbo name...

 TARI im on da flo. girl imma send you some meds..you got me cracking up..its funny though ..i was like dang they are similar..ahahahh :hehe: but yeah common names..it was funny though... :P ahahahhah...*SIKE*..ok now where you been hiding?? lol :)

  21. :help: OK Folks..its getting near that time..I need to make a "DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT LIST" Well I know about the insect repellent for mosquitos, Skin so Soft, allergy med..(rummaging through bags)..Anything else anyone suggest?? THANKS A MILLION!!! :P
