  1. They say on the list of requirements for the interview that they need proof of payment for the visas at the bank.

What does the bank give out as proof? Is it just a receipt?

    Thanks

From what the instruction say they stamp the DS156 after you pay the bank the money for the medical and interview. Haven't done that yet tho.

It's ok, I'm bored tonight. I'll do a few.

    It's not DS-156 it's DS-157 based on my experience. :)

Best of luck to brittanique on Aug. 8 and to djcess and rustyash on Aug. 9. Give us approvals!

    Updated sweety's timeline.

    Thanks PW.

What's are the original documents that they will get from me?

I just want to make sure that I'll have photocopy of those.

And.. God Bless to djcess and rustyash.

Please pray for us guys :D

  2. Problem is, they still have not updated it for anything past august. they may be replacing that list with the case number lookup but that doesn't work either according to some other people and I verified myself it's not working.

I think the best thing that Yna can do right now is to call the customer service hotline, that's where you can get the most real-time info from your case.

  3. One and a half days are needed. First day is for physical exam (x-ray, eye exam, vaccination interview, urine test, etc.), second day is for vaccination.

It's quite weird... because based from what I experienced I had to spend half day during the first day and second day was longer than I thought... I ended up waiting 2-3 hours in the releasing section.

  4. Sorry I wasnt able to go online the past several days. I am approved!!! :) I just asked friends, family for prayers and God heard them all (Praise God for His faithful deeds!). :D(L)

    Wow! that's a good news...

What's the probability of being denied? What's the reason?

Can anyone share their experiences pleaseeeeeeee....

  5. Yes you will have to bring a copy of your fiance's latest year's W2 and income tax return for the interview. The US Embassy website says fax copies are fine. The more proof of your fiance's financial standing like bank statements and employment certificate the better.

The 156K should be included in your packet. You just need one copy for the interview, 2 copies of DS156 and 2 copies of DS-157. If you did not receive it in your packet, you can download it for the internet, and fill out the form from there. DS 156K is the fiance visa application form while the DS-156 is the nonimmigrant visa applicaiton form.

And yes, the medical exam takes two days. The first day for the tests and physical; the second day for immunization and results.

    Hope this helps.

    Audrey :)

    Thanks for the response peeps.

I'm done with my first medical exam today. I went there at 8 AM and was able to finish the 1st day process at exactly 11:20...

    Not bad :) .

I'll just go back tom for the results and the immunizations.

About the financial support my fiance already sent me one. He just forgot to attach it but it's part of what he submitted in the USCIS.

    P.S.

Did you notice that the X-RAY staffs of St. Lukes are not friendly? They are arrogant and vague in giving directions. When I was there, one of the patients(he's around 70+) get hauled over the coals by one of the staff because he forgot to sign instead of explaining it calmly... Man, they're talking to 70+ guy and I don't think he deserve that kind of treatment... we're all paying there and part of their salary comes from us. Grr....

Can't wait to fill up the comments and suggestions tom.

I'll make sure that I can get the name of that girl and some of her co-workers on the third floor.

  6. Hi peeps,

I'm preparing the documents that I will need for the interview and notice that I dont have yet my fiance income tax return. Although I have with me his employment certificate (stating his salary and position), I-134 (signed by an administering officer) and bank statement. Do you think its enough? or my fiance still need to send his income tax return? If yes, can he just scan it and send it via email?

What's the diff between DS-156 and DS-156K? Bec based from the packet4 instructions there should be DS-156K enclosed in the packet but seems like its not included.

One last thing, How many days should I allot for my medical examination? 2 days?

Response will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks a lot.

  7. I gave myself that "nickname" when I was in the Phil this past April. As you may know, everywhere in the Phil there are signs saying "ULING FOR SALE!" Since I'm Black, I thought it would be a funny joke. So while I was in the Phil, I introduced myself as "ULING!" LOL! As far as your third question, once I receive my NOA2, I will gladly add myself to the waiting list.

    Ahmari

    That's funny

What part of the Phil did u visit?

  8. In my case, I did not use the forms that were in my packet. I filled up the forms on-line and had no problems at the embassy. When you print the on-line form, the space for barcode should also come out as blank.

    Hi folks,

I was supposed to ask that question yesterday but I didnt find time to do that. Anyway, I just did the online filling up of forms (DS156 and DS157) last night but there's a generated barcode in it. I downloaded the file from this link.

Where did you download your forms PW?

    Thanks.

  9. I will be going back to the Philippines when my fiancee has her interview. I plan on attending the interview with her. Does anyone have any experience with this? Anything you could share with me would be greatly appreciated. I have found lots of embassy interview experiences here and on asawa, but none seem to have any experiences where the filipina had her fiance with her.

    Hi Dean;

As lira says, you as the USC peitioner present on the interview date of your fiance will be a "BIG" advantage to make it approved. As my husband did, he was more been asked throughly to prove all matters about affidavit of support, also weve been asked all about relationships and trips weve been together.

gudluck! & welcome visiting phils again.

    Hi peeps,

I'm just wondering what would be the causes that they will delay the issuance of the visa or review more your case?

    Thanks in advance.

I found this link. It got some sample insterview questions.. quite neat :) .

    Hi Dean iWait,

During my interview, my fiance was there. You yourself is a big proof being there and has a big chance to get approved aside from the papers you submitted. Good luck....

    Lira

It will be good if anyone from here and who's already done with their interview can post their experiences here. It will be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking that they really going to inquire about the relationship like how did it start? why? where? when? and how?

  12. Hi guys,

The appointment letter is with me.

The customer support from the local number was right about my appointment date. I can't understand myself why did I doubt it in the firts place hmmm... I shouldn't have question the power of God :) .

    what was i thinking???

i shoudn't wish for an earlier interview date coz i still need to apply for my Dubai Police clearance.

congratulations again brit! way to go girl!!!:thumbs::thumbs:

    Thanks...

    Everything has a reason :D

Although if I will be able to surpass everything without any problem I'm still going to go there by Sept because I still need to tie some loose ends here in the office :) .

But still the result is still AWESOME :).

We called three times (twice here in the local number and the other one is in the dept. of state).

After my first call I still doubted if I heard it right. So I asked my fiance to call them and the answer was the same. After a while PW posted an advice about calling the Dept of State and my fiance did that; we still got the same sched. Finally, after 3 confirmation I went to st. lukes to pick up my appointment letter, this time with appointment date :D .

  14. Sorry to butt in but im just wondering if anybody knows how long does it takes to get an NBI clearance in Manila??? My husband cant get his police clearance not unless he got an NBI clearance they said...Thanks!!!

If you use a "fixer" you can have it in 1 day.

Fixer is not necessary because NBI is already computerized and he can get it the same day.

Is this his first time to get NBI Clearance? If yes, he needs to go to the NBI Building, Taft Avenue, Manila and bring his birth certificate. Otherwise he can go to his nearest NBI kiosk like in Park Square I, Makati City SM Mega Mall (Bldg. B. Basement), Mandaluyong City Gotesco Grand Central , Monumento Caloocan City

Tutuban Center Mall 1, and Divisoria. He only need to bring his old NBI clearance cert.

  15. hi brittaniquec!

did you call the customer service number first before you called St. Luke's and requested for your packet? I'm no expert but like PW said, the embassy might not yet have an interview date for you that's why you got a packet with an appointment letter that has no interview and medical date.

In my case, I called the customer service center first and only when i was sure that i have an interview date already did i request for my packet at St. Luke's. I got my packet with the appointment letter stating my interview and medical date.

Nope. What I did is I called st. lukes and asked them if I could make a request to them that I'm going to get my packet from their end and not to have an early appt date but their response to me was to call the next day to check if my request is possible. I did that; and after calling them they told me that I can pick it up last thursday and I'm soooo glad about it (that's a natural reaction I guess  ) but I didnt think that I will receive an appoinment letter without an appointment date. Actually I did wait for a couple of days before going there just to be sure that my packet is already there and it's there but appointment letter has no appt date.

The customer suppport from the call center mentioned to me that my appointment date is still blank and told me to follow the instructions of the customer support from the local number. The mind boggling thing to me is why their dbase is not in synch, quite unusual huh!? and that leads me to the idea that the customer support of the local number got messed -up somehow and gave me the wrong interview date.

Anyway, I'm just going to call st. lukes tom afternoon to ask if my new appoinment letter is already there just to save time.

    Thanks sillygirl.

  16. I picked up my packet 4 this morning from St. Lukes Ext Manila, but to my suprise it doesn't have the appointment date and medical date in my appointment letter. x x x Now I'm starting to get confused because I think the main reason why they are giving you the appointment letteris to INFORM you your APPOINTMENT DATE and basically medical date(w/c I was also told that I can do it after receiving the papers). Please enlighten me with this one. x x x

    Hi Brittaniquec,

Your appointment letter did not contain a date since you wanted to get an early medical ~ ahead of what the NVC wants to schedule for you. The blank date means you can show up at your own convenience.

Your interview date was also left blank because NVC has not set the date yet. Asking for early medical or advance packet does not mean that the interview will also be scheduled ahead of time just so the appointment letter can show a date.

Remember, what you picked up from St. Lukes is "advance" packet. The reason why the "real" packets are not delivered months in advance is because the embassy has to wait for the appointment set by the NVC so the embassy can input those info in our appointment letter.

    Thanks PW.

Actually I didnt literally ask for an early appointment date I just asked them if they can drop the packet to st. lukes instead of sending it to my home address :(. Bdw, I did this through calling st. lukes .

I called the ff number 528-6300 ext 5184 and 1-9097-101-7878; they gave me different feedbacks. Based from the customer service call center if the support from this 528-6300 ext 5184 told me to go back to st. lukes for a new appointment letter then I should follow the said lady. Actually the customer support from the 528-6300 ext 5184 gave me a very surprising date which I'm thinking that she got confused with the details (bec she's not real happy of me calling to this number; according to her this number is just for other countries and I admit that it's my fault :hehe: ). Now I'm still at lost. I think a wise decision should be going back to St. Lukes tom morning without any assurance of getting a new appointment letter with appoinment date. Sigh!? waste of time and waste of money in the name of love. :(

  17. Hi guys,

I picked up my packet 4 this morning from St. Lukes Ext Manila, but to my suprise it doesn't have the appointment date and medical date in my appointment letter. Is this common?

I asked one of the staff and he told me that I need to call the Embassy call center. Now I'm starting to get confused because I think the main reason why they are giving you the appointment letteris to INFORM you your APPOINTMENT DATE and basically medical date(w/c I was also told that I can do it after receiving the papers). Please enlighten me with this one. As much as possible I'm trying to avoid calling the call center bec its causing me a penny.. (I'm not stingy but Im just to be wise ).

    Thanks.

  19. Hi peeps,

I just want to ask on how to have an early medical appointment?

    Thanks!

hi! do you know you interview date already?

i would suggest calling st. luke's and tell them that you would like to pick up your packet. the number is 521-8647 / 521-0020. i was in malacañang yesterday and since i fnished early, i decided to go to st. luke's to pick up my packet and i was told that i have to come back today bcoz they don't have it yet and they have to request it from the embassy. that will save you one trip. :) calling them will be a real challenge though, they won't pick up the phone! or maybe i didn't try long enough...

anyways, i went back today and got my packet! the lady there told me that i can have the medical right there and then... but since my interview date is on september, she adviced me that i better wait and have it on the last week of august.

patiently waiting, kindly update my timeline. packet received today, sept. 29.

Nope. i'm not calling yet, I'll do that next week just to make sure that I will get the info I wanted and to save some penny too :) .

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried calling the number you posted and all I'm getting is Mr. Busy-Tone :P . It is indeed a real challenge to get through to their number.

Anyway, are you all set-up and ready for the interview? :)

If you know your Manila case number, you can just show up at St. Lukes.

    Thanks PW.

Like what DANOCO mentioned how's ur case doing?

  20. [hi patiently waiting!

just called the embassy and i now have my interview date!

the lady said the packet was sent on june 21 and my interview date is on sept. 28. it was sooner than i expected. i have resigned on having my interview on mid to last week of october.

wow! that's awesome... where did you call in the customer service or to the local number? We have 6-day difference I'm hoping that I can be scheduled around 1st week of October. I'm so happy for you silly girl! Bdw, did you go to the CFO seminar? I'm planning to do that this week since their going to change their rate next month from 250 to 400.

    thanks! :D

i called the customer service number. maybe you can try calling by tomorrow or on wednesday, maybe they'll have your interview date by then.

when are you going for the CFO seminar? can you do that even without the visa yet?

yes.. I'm going to call them on friday.

I'm planning to do it on wednesday morning. Yes,I called the CFO and I can have it even I dont have the visa yet. I just need to bring my birth certificate, NBI Clearance and of course money :).

hi! when are you going for your CFO seminar?

Hi! I went this morning... The seminar starts at 10 AM and finished at around 1:30 PM.

  21. [hi patiently waiting!

  22. We just saw our interview date posted on the Manila website http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwfvisa.pdf for August 8 but we don't know when the medical examination will be. What is the best way to find out? I heard that you cannot rely on the packet 4 or whatever it is they are supposed to send turning up in time? I tried calling an 888 number for the Manila consulate but they had some voicemail message saying something about buying an $18 pin. The explanation was so garbled I could not make out whether paying this would actually get me the help I need. Anyone been through this and can explain the procedure?

    Thanks!

That's the first time I heard 888 number. For information or details of your application the best way is the customer service of US Embassy manila 1-909-101-7878. They also have local number but the lady there will just tell you to call the customer service which is way expensive  .

How much does it cost to call this 909 number? I just asked SBC operator and he didn't even recognize it as a valid number so he wasn't able to tell me. The other number is 1-888-877-9888 but as I say you get some message about buying a pin which I have no idea what it means. Is that the same thing you get on this 909 number? Someone else told me you got to pay $$$ to get through to find out anything - what a scam this is.

Also can someone tell me how long it normally takes for them to send out the packet with the information about the medical exam? can we expect that to be sent in a timely manner or not? or is it up to us to schedule the medical exam ourselves anyway? somone must know this information

First, where are you calling from? If you're calling from Philippines you should use 1-909-101-7878. The cost is 53 Philippine pesos per minute. Take note, the number that I mentioned is for PLDT subscribers only with IDD. If you're calling from US the number is 1-888-877-9888 and have you credit card ready. The card will be charged $18 per transaction. After the card is approved, a nonrefundable personal identification number (PIN) will be given. The PIN may be used to call this number back just one more time, which will allow the caller to speak to an operator, at no charge.

All you inquiries will be answered by the operator. If you dont want to spend money for that then just sit back and relax while waiting for the arrival of your packet and just read the instructions from there :) . I think they are the one who's assigning the schedule of the medical exam but I'm not 100% sure maybe someone from the forum can clarify on this. :)
