Thanks! Did you by any chance get a tracking number for this or you just waited for something to come in the mail?

Yes, I did get a tracking number once the status changed to “the post office picked up mail containing my card”, which happened on 8/7/19. So, assuming the card actually was collected from USCIS by the post office that day, it only took a day for it to arrive.

FINALLY APPROVED! After an RFE, repeat fingerprinting I got an email this morning saying the new card was in process. Cannot explain how relieved I am!!!

Question - how soon after receiving the initial alert online, did you all get the card and notice in the mail??

Also--- any of you that have successfully filed the forms and info for naturalization care to share the process and what is involved as that will be my next thing to do.

    Congrats!

My status updated to card in production 8/1/19, approval notice arrived 8/5/19 and card arrived today (8/8/19). So 7 days from where you are now.

Yeah I lost faith in the ‘new’ site a long time ago. For me - only the old one ever worked. Ideally they would invest all the time into actually APPROVING cases and not updating two databases because it’s a waste of time. But wait.. that’s USCIS so I’m not surprised!

Why 5 year mark specifically? Lol just curious. I’m also thinking when to apply for N400

Only the new one worked for me... but stayed at case received (still says that).

Im not entirely sure I want to do citizenship at all, plus less paperwork in 5 years. So I may as well wait and decide later.

  4. Finally, some progress. The new site has been stuck at “case received” the entire time and the old site never recognised my case number until today when it updated to “card ordered”.

    CSC, WAC18195XXXX

    - Mailed 4/27/18

    - NOA 6/4/18

    - Biometrics Waiver (Feb 2019)

    - Biometrics completes 5/9/19

    - Card Ordered 8/1/19

No interview (but was interviews during AOS).

    No RFE.

Did NOT file N400 and won’t bother until the 5 year mark. We are over sending documents and justifying my marriage.

Of course until the the card is in my hand, I’m not at the finish line yet.

    Good luck to those waiting!

Just got a biometrics notice after receiving re-use notice in february, appointment isn't until june 4th. I was really hoping for an approval. In everyone else's experience that got late biometrics notice recently, how long after biometrics did you get approved? Will I get moved to the back of the pile now? Is there still a chance for RFE after this? I'm a late april/early may filer 2018 and can't track my application online, new website just shows case received and old website shows validation error. So frustrating all because of the snafu last year! Also I feel the other poster who posted about renewing your drivers license multiple times, I've probably renewed my driver's license 4/5 times by now and will have to again :(

I feel your pain. My status is stuck at received as well.

I received the biometrics waiver around Sept 2018 and was send to a biometrics appointment which I attended 3 weeks ago (May 2019). Still no change for me.

Hi, do you have the fingerprints review completed status after you received the bio waived letter in February?

My status hasn’t updated since my first NOA, even though I received the 18 month extension in August 18 and the reuse letter in Feb 19.

    Old site - case received.

New site - cannot provide information about this case.

    Just patiently waiting.

  7. If your husband does not hold residency status yet, then you you will likely not be able to file jointly anyway. We went through a similar situation just last week and the accountant did the math on both just to show that would have been worse off if we were able to file jointly.

The following is directly from the IRS (link is below):

"Nonresident alien or dual-status alien. Generally, a married couple cannot file a joint return if either one is a nonresident alien at any time during the tax year. However, if one spouse was a nonresident alien or dual-status alien who was married to a U.S. citizen or resident alien at the end of the year, the spouses can choose to file a joint return. If you do file a joint return, you and your spouse are both treated as U.S. residents for the entire tax year. See chapter 1 of Pub. 519."

  8. I wonder why they are so slow in processing. Today is day 76 fo me so i put in my service request, here is to hopping we all hear something, its really frustrating especially when you want to start getting things taken care of. And congratulations to everyone who have received progress with their cases

I'm a few days behind and just submitted my service request. Fingers crossed those of us waiting see some progress soon!

  9. There is no need to do the medical before you file. Some prefer to get it out of the way, some wait - its up to you. After talking to several civil surgeons I discovered that I can get in to have it completed with just a few days notice so I decided to wait. One month after I filed I got a letter from USCIS reminding me to bring the completed medical with me to the interview so it hasn't held my case up from I can see.

  10. Request for Evidence

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

See Racheal & David's post regarding initial vs additional evidence :)

  11. Try to find anything else you can join. Go on the website to find what they accept. Send two more evidence if you can find any.... or call. Maybe they are giving you a hard time... and you can resolve the problem by talking to someone. Good luck !

I would make an infopass appointment in the meantime as sometimes there can be a bit of a wait. That way if you can't get the answers you need, you will be able to take everything you have to a USCIS officer for clarification. If you get it sorted beforehand, you can always cancel it. Good luck!

  12. Hey guys so I finally called the USCIS and found out that my application has been processed and the NOAs were sent but I have not received them yet. But atleast I was able to get my receipt #. I have another issue at this point. I was told by the USCIS officer that they never received my I-765. I had co-filed I-485, I-130 & I-765 in the same application package. I got receipt #s for the I-130 & I-485 but not for the I-765 as they don't have a 765 for me in the system :( I was asked to resend my I-765. Is the biometrics appointment for the I-485 or I-765?

The biometrics is required for both the I-485 and I-765. I have heard of some rare cases of people getting two seperate appointments - one for each, but I think most of us only do one biometrics appointment for both. When you receive your biometrics appointment, it will state which applications it relates to (mine listed both the I485 and I-765).

If you get a biometrics appointment and it only states the I-485 on the letter, then I would plan on the fact that you will have to do a second one for I-765 at some point.
