    Sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately, it will be a problem and I would highly suggest not hiding this from the interviewer.

Her and/or your asset has to be three times the amount listed in I-864P for your household size.  Only assets that can be converted into cash within one year will count. See page 8 part 7: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864instr.pdf

Alternatively, you will need to get a joint sponsor. See forum below:

In the sense that it is basically material misrepresentation, then sure if you are into that kind of thing.

OP, you are going to need to provide the embassy with an updated I-864 with correct information.

The answer depends on whether you are specifically asked about your wife's current employment.  If your are not, and she qualified as sponsor on the date the affidavit of support was signed, losing her job is a non-issue.  If asked though, you must answer truthfully.  If she disclosed and documented enough assets to qualify, then you would still be OK.  If she has the assets and didn't disclose them, I would get an updated affidavit of support disclosing and documenting sufficient liquid assets and carry it to the interview in case it's needed.  No need to volunteer it if the subject is brought up by the interviewing officer.

I think that not giving an updated I-864 if your spouse’s income changes comes very close to misrepresentation. The law says that your US spouse must meet the financial requirements for their household size to sponsor a foreign spouse or get a joint sponsor. If your spouse just got terminated, she no longer has a salary and hence cannot meet the financial requirements.

Also, one of the main questions they seem to ask at the interview is “what does your spouse do for a living”.... My suggestion is to bring a new I-864 supplemented with either assets or a joint sponsor.

I want update you guys that my wife she back to her job before my interview  so It was fine when the officer open the subject but after the interview he gave me form called Supplemental Questions for Visa Application it is information to fill about my phone numbers and social media accounts and siblings information and travel background and another paper say administrative processing paper . My interview was in egypt .

i filled this information and sent it to the embassy any idea about that paper and when will they respond me ?

Thank you all for help . I think because there is no time to get updated form i will go to the interview and if they need  updated form  then  We will do one and send it to the embassy later  after the interview .

    You are sending only 1 Year Tax Returns (2016) ? I guess 1040 , 3 to 4 Papers

Thank you for your reply - we are sending the prior three years. We just called the NVC center and confirmed they currently want the full federal tax return with all worksheets included. Hope that will be a helpful update for anyone wondering.

Get transcripts online and print from here : https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

Each transcript is about 3-4 pages, I sent for our AOS all 3-4 pages plus a copy of that years W2.

Thank you - thats good to know.  For us we do not have the tax transcript because my wife ordered them weeks ago and they still haven't arrived. We don't want to wait sending our package any longer so we choose the other option in the instructions which is to instead send her federal income tax returns with her W-2 .  So my question is do I just send the first two pages of her tax return which is called the 1040?  Or should we include all of the paper she completed to complete her federal taxes ( like all the worksheets)?

  8.  When sending proof of income with the I – 864EZ,  it says to send a copy of your federal income tax returns and W-2 --- ( or a tax transcript which I will not get in time  so I will do the fee tax returns and W-2) .

My question is do I send just the 1040 portion of my tax return or do I need to include all of the other worksheets that go with your return.

I would think the 1040 is the main thing they want with the accompanying W – 2,  but I don't want to make a mistake and have them request the other worksheets.

Has anyone completed the steps that can confirm?

It can take 3-5 business days, sometimes more for it to clear from your bank and for NVC to process the payment. It also depends on when the payment was made as usually the weekend it tends to be slower. Don't worry any day now it will show 'Paid' and then they will send you an email stating you can pay your IV... once you pay IV and it clears, you will then be able to complete the DS-260 (IV application)

Thank you so much : )

  10.

two days ago we have  submitted ds-261 Choose an agend and we have paid Aos fees.

My question how long does it take to show (paid) next Aos  because now show in progress ?

and how long will take  IV Bill to be available ?

and is it okay if i pay  the two fees and then send the two packages  together or i have to send Aos and the IV ?
