  1. Hi Guys,

I am I-751 Dec, 2015 filer, I HAVE NOT received my 10 years GC, and I called them, they said i am still under FBI background check.

However, I just received an email from USCIS that indicated they are starting to schedule my interview for N-400 application. I have a couple of questions,

1, Usually, how much time they give you to prepare for the interview, for instance, on May 23rd, they said that they starting to schedule my interview, and I will receive a letter, so in the letter, what time is the interview gonna be, in June or Jul based on your experience. Thank you!

2, So is this strange or normal that I received the notice for the interview of my N-400, but have not received the 10 years Green Card, based on your experience, will the green be delivered before the interview take place? thank you!  By the way, I filed the N-400 based on 3 years marriage.

Thank you for your advice in advance.

that one can be found at USCIS processing times webpage. Downside living in NYC, its field office is among the slower ones. I believe current waiting time is around 8 months for NYC. You need to wait little longer for that one to come up. Keep track of other NYC filers at the N400 monthlies.

Regarding your ROC hopefully that higher level officer will have some good news or at least would give you an idea what's going on. If you're not satisfied with his answer, contact your congressperson's office for assistance.

    thank you

That's probably where you filed your N400 application. N400 interviews are held at local USCIS field offices. Find your field office here; https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

Each one of them have a different waiting time.

Thank you so  much, to be more specific, i sent my N-400 application to dallas, texas. I will have my interview in local uscis field office, which will be in NYC, but i did not see the different waiting time on the link you sent me.

L2 is Level 2 office. Who can see all the progress about your case on the computer. I think that's what they refer to that higher immigration officer in your conversations. I hope they call back as they say. Right now all is fair for you since you're officially out of normal processing time. You could ask assistance from your congressperson if you'd like to.

What's your field office for N400?

    Texas

I saw you filed your N400 in January. That's good. Since you are officially out of normal processing time, do an inquiry. Either Service Request/Customer Service + L2 office/ or infopass.

What's the status of your N400? Were you placed in line for interview?

Regarding my N400, i finished my finger print in Jan, i am waiting for the interview now. With respect to my I-751 case, I just called the service center, and the lady took all my information and said a higher immigration officer will be reaching out to me in the next 3-5 days. Hopefully, i will have some positive news. What do u mean by L2 officer? Is there anything else I should do right now? thanks

  7. Does any here who filed I-751 application in Dec, 2015 in Vermont Center has not received any feedback from them?  Unfortunately, I filed my case in Dec, 2015, it's been 15 months. I have not heard anything form them since my finger print, very frustrating.

I noticed that the processing time for Vermont Center proceeded to Feb, 2016 already. I dont know what's going on with my case.

If any one in the same situation like me, please let me know. Thank you so much!

  8. hi all,

I filed my I-751 application to remove my condition on Dec 31, 2015, and I did my fingerprint on Feb 1, 2016, it's been over 13 months, no news at all. I am so confused right now. So I did my E request for inquiry on USCIS website, however, after I filled out all the information, the website said below:

"Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."

So what should I do right now? Should I call them? If I call, which number shall I call?

Thank you for your advice in advance.

  9. anyone still here?

I used USPS priority mail 1-3 business days with tracking number and mailed it to "USCIS Attn: N-400 2501 S State Hwy 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067".

I saw USCIS mentioned if you use USPS, then don't mail to the above address. U should mail it too USCIS P.O. Box 660060 Dallas, TX 75266.

Will USPS return  my package? Whats gonna happen?

BTW, I just tracked my package, now they saying expected delivery date is Jan 4, bc of the holiday? TAKE that long?

Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

  10. I found it so frustrating. I mailed my package on Dec 29, used USPS priority mail 1-3 business days with tracking number.

I mailed it to "USCIS Attn: N-400 2501 S State Hwy 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067".

However, some people said as well as I saw USCIS mentioned if you use USPS, then don't mail to the above address. U should mail it too USCIS P.O. Box 660060 Dallas, TX 75266.

So does any one have the same problem? Will USPS return  my package? Whats gonna happen?

BTW, I just tracked my package, now they saying expected delivery date is Jan 4, bc of the holiday? TAKE that long?

Thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

  11. I just filed my N-400 yesterday, have a silly question.

I wrote "U.S. Depart of Homeland Security" on the check, in stead of "Department of Homeland Security". I just checked the USCIS website, they said don's use initials. Will they reject my application because of this? Am I over concerned ? Have any experienced this before?

Thank you for your answers in advance.

  12. Hi Guys,

I have a question about the Part 10 about your marital history.

The marriage between me and my spouse is the first marriage for both of us. We are never married before.

So Part 10 question 3 "How many times have you been married?" Should I type 1 or 0? Does it include my current marriage?

Part 10 question 8, how many times has your current spouse been married? Should I type 1 or 0?

    Thank you so much!

  13. Thank you for your reply. I just got confused by this in the N-400 form.

"I have resided in the district or state in which I am applying for citizenship for the last three months."

I live in New York since I received my GC, its been almost 3 years. The confusion I have is if i APPLY FOR N-400 form on Jan 5,2017, do i have to live in New York through OCT 4, 2016- Jan 4, 2017. Does this apply to me or not? Because I am outside USA right now visiting family, won't be back until Nov, so i want to know when I can apply N-400.

    Thank you!

  14. Hi guys,

I have a question regarding the N-400 application. I found below in the N-400 application form.

"I have resided in the district or state in which I am applying for citizenship for the last three months. " which means I have to reside in the state where I apply for citizenship for the last 3 months?

I am outside USA right now. If I apply for N-400 on Jan 5, 2017(within 90 days prior to Mar 25, 2017), I have to reside in New York through Oct 5, 2016- Jan, 4 2017? Is that correct?

Also, I will have my GC for 3 years on Mar 25, 2017 (under 3 years rule), which means I can apply for N-400 within 90 days prior to Mar 25, 2017, is this correct?

    Thank you in advance.

  15. Hi All,

I flied my application to remove my condition on GC in Dec, 2015. They cashed my check, I also received the 1 year extension letter as well as finished my finger print.

However, after that, no further notice and information, it's been over 6 months, no RFE notice , no interview notice, no approval notice. Is there anyone in the same circumstance as me? Should I be concerned about this right now or it's normal?

Also, I may travel to outside USA in Aug, if I still did not receive my 10 years GC that time, can I travel with my old GC and 1 year extension letter?

Thank you so much for your reply in advance and have a nice day.

    Thanks

  16. Hi All,

My green card will be expired in the end of this Mar and I filed my I-751 last year and i am now still waiting to get my condition removed, also, i received my one year extension letter already as well as finished my fingerprint.

My question is can I travel outside USA and stay for 1 - 2 month by the time I am still waiting for 10 years card? if yes, i just need to take my 1 year extension letter and expired green card with me when I return to the USA, is there gonna be a problem? Or I have to do anything else in order to make sure that I have no problem to return to the USA?

    Please advise.

Thank you so much for your help.

  17. i don't quit understand your questions, :) you have a joint account but your wife did not make any purchase/deposit on this joint account? why does this matter? you are married, you are supposed to share everything, i don't really think it does matter who made more purchase/deposit on this joint account as long as they are active and have many transactions.

Any other opinions? thank you :)

  18. Well here's a good a place as any to resume our trek on the forum. After the disgustingly long and arduous process to the conditional GC, it was nice to take a rest. But the rest is over. Our lawyer submitted our rather thick and heavy I-751 package on 12/28. So it begins again. Not looking forward to it. Looks like we dodged the new form (though after how many billions of dollars trying to digitize forms, this new one still is not - but hey we're talkin' 'bout USCIS here).

I don't expect this to be much easier than before, but maybe they'll surprise me...Yeah right!!

you submitted your application on Dec 28 too? great, :) keep us informed, did you receive the receipt yet? thanks

  19. Hi Guys,

Happy New Year and holiday!!! I have a couple of questions want to ask and need your advice. :)

1, I filed my I-751 on Dec 28th, because we have so many paper work, bank statements, utilities bills, thats why I stapled every bank statements, utility bills by month (I thought it's easier for them to check month by month) we have over 50 months combined, which means there have over 50 staples they need to take out, i am so sorry.. After I mailed all the stuff, I just realized that they prefer us to use paper clip or ACCO fasteners... I want to know anyone here ever used heavy staples and been through just fine? or they will reject my application because I use staples? I am so sorry!! I would definitely use paper clip or ACCO fasteners if let me do it again! Thank you!!!

2, I filed my i-751 on Dec 28th with certified mail and return receipt, checked USPS, it was delivered on Dec 30th, I understand it is holiday season right now, i just check my bank, they have not cashed my check yet, i want to know usually when we can receive the receipt or they cash our check after they receive the packet?

Thank you again and Happy New Year !
