  1. if i'm not mistaking, AOS has to be submitted by mail. They need the original signed copy, not scanned (electronic)

Advice needed!! I electronically submitted all my documents in ONE email on April 19. I got an email today saying that they don't have an Affidavit of Support form... I quadruple checked my sent messages and the AOS is 100% attached. Called NVC and the rep looked into it for me but she says she was only able to see 6 attachments. I was trying to ask her if someone only uploads relevant files to the cases or what not, and I think the answer is yes... so perhaps someone failed to upload the AOS I sent to my "case file." She told me to just resend it but then I have to wait another 30 days for that to be reviewed. She told me that I can get a supervisor to review but it takes up to 42 days. My question is... does anyone know which route is faster at this point? Should I ask for supervisor review or should I just resubmit and wait? My husband is deploying later this year and I really want to see him before he leaves and also don't want to have to move to the US by myself... (I also asked about expediting a case with the embassy but it seems they can't do anything until all documents are reviewed by NVC anyway).

Thanks in advance, I'm really hoping for some answers soon!

  2. Got this in the email today... anyone else got this? Scan date 11APR16

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 11APR16. We are experiencing a high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow 30 days from the date we received your mail for the NVC to review your documents. We are diligently working to reduce our review time and appreciate your patience. The NVC will notify you after our review if there is additional information required or if we are able to schedule your case for an interview overseas.

  3. I am an October filer whose file was re-routed to Potomac on on 11/9. Today I received RFE from the potomac center. However, the RFE does not state what documents to send. All they're asking for is " a photocopy of original document" What are they asking for specifically??

    See attached picture.

My case was approved and they did not ask me for any RFE. With my petition, I submitted the following documents:

Copy of my US Citizenship certificate

Copy of my marriage certificate (translated)

Copy of my marriage certificate (original in native language)

    Hope this helps.

  4. Update:

    10/18/2015—application sent

    10/22/2015—application received by USCIS Chicago

    10/23/2015—receipt number established (Priority Date)

    10/27/2015—NOA1 received

    10/28/2015—check cashed ($420)

11/09/2015—file transferred to another USCIS office (Potomac)

03/04/2016—case approved, online update (134 days from PD)

03/09/2016—case sent to NVC for visa processing

  5. FYI,

My PD is 10/23. I called on 3/1 and spoke with an officer. I mentioned that "According to USCIS, it was transferred from California to Potomac for faster processing, but people who petitioned after me and stayed at California, got approved in 2 months or less." The officer told me if don't hear anything in 30 days, call back and open a ticket. I don't know if my call has triggered anything, but I was approved 3 days later, on 3/4. Hope this helps.

  6. I submitted a congressional inquiry regarding my case a month ago. I just heard back from them today... This is what they said:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that Mr. Abedin's petition is still pending adjudication at the Potomac Service Center. The current estimated processing time for I-130 petitions at the Potomac Service Center is the same processing time as the service center where the petitions were transferred from. In this case, since this case was transferred from the Western Service Center, the processing time is 5 months from the date of receipt (October 26, 2015). Please note that estimated processing times are processing goals and not a guarantee that applications will be processed within the estimated timeframe.

  7. Hello everyone,

First time posting, but been following the thread since october. My PD is October 27th 2015 and transfer from CSC to Potomac on 09November 2015. I called couple of time uscis to speak with T2 but they keep saying your case is under review. It has been been 3month today. Good luck to everyone. I know the waiting is long. Havent seen any Octobers approved yet. I might be wrong though

I don't think they started October yet. My PD date is 10/23 and transferred from CSC to Potomac on 11/9 as well. So we should hear back from them around the same time. I have noticed that those people who are getting approved are getting them between 4-5 months period. So going by that hopefully we'll get approved my mid March. Also, a question for you... did you get any updates on your case since the transfer?
