  1. Actually, your age may exempt you from either vaccine. However, I would suggest getting them anyways, just in case. During my husband's medical, they only gave him polio vaccine, even though we wanted them all. We didn't know he only got one vaccine until he got his passport back from the embassy - they kept his DS-3025. Then, at the POE, they also kept his DS-3025. We added him to my health insurance shortly after he arrived and we were able to get all the vaccines covered with no co-pay. Most of them (including the two you mention) he got at Walgreen's easily.

When we applied for AOS, we sent it off without the I-693 so we could get the process started. We weren't as fast as we could have been getting all his vaccinations, but he was approved for his GC before we could finish getting the last one - MMR! We still got the vaccine, but had to get that one at a doctor's office. If you plan to get under US health insurance, you may want to wait and get them stateside.

    Check:

    http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#i693

under "Table: Requirements for routine vaccination of adjustment of status applicants who are not fully vaccinated or lack documentation" for more information

BTW, I think my husband's medical was processed using a blanket waiver. We didn't have any documentation on any previous vaccines.

Appreciate you sharing your experience with us, thank you! I think we will get the Varicella done here in Indonesia, then just send the AOS packet with a copy of the DS-3025. If my fiancee receives a RFE, then we'll got see a CS and have the I-193 completed.

Sorry to hear they didn't give you a copy of the DS-3025 for your AOS, but seems like everything worked out for you and that's what's important. Congratulations on your journey and receiving of your husbands GC =) Take care and good luck.

  2. When my wife did her medical last year for K1, the hospital was out of the Varicella vaccine also. We just submitted the AOS packet in hopes they wouldn't request it before approving her green card. She was approved and GC received without any questions.

The medical report she received from the hospital was marked "complete" so maybe that's why they didn't question it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. My fiancee also has her medical report marked as "complete", so maybe we'll chance it and submit the copy of DS-3025 with the AOS packet. I think it's also a good idea for her to get her Varicella vaccination done in Bali, just in case we receive a RFE. Did you also send a copy of your wife's DS-3025 when submitting the AOS packet?

Congratulations on your journey and receiving of your wife's GC!

    Take care

  3. Hello Again VJ members =) Our K-1 visa was approved and overall a smooth process. There is a important question that we hope some experienced members can advise.

When I had the medical exam in Indonesia at the appointed clinic that the US Embassy required, everything went well except that the hospital was out of 2 vaccinations. The Varicella and Td/Tdap were not available at the time. I had got the Td/Tdap done at another hospital prior to the medical exam, but the US Embassy appointed clinic failed to record that on the medical report. My question is should I have the Varicella vaccination done at a local hospital prior to entering the U.S., and what about the Td/Tdap I had it done at a local hospital (I do have the records)? I'm worried about the cost of seeing a civil surgeon and the getting vaccinations done in U.S.. What would be the easiest, cost effective, and safest way to handle this situation prior to POE and AOS in the United States?

We really appreciate all the help that was offered and given to us through this site and our journey. Hopefully our gratitude is also expressed through sharing of our experience with newer members. Thank you in advance!

    Much ALoha,

    WUlan & Ian

  4. Hiya Teak! We were also in the same situation. I (US Citizen) and fiancee (Indonesian Citizen) prepared all documents for I-129F petition here in Bali. For us, the easiest method with the least amount of worries was to send all the documents to my mother in the U.S. She got a cashiers check for the required fee at the US post office and sent it to the correct USCIS location. She then emailed me a copy of receipt and tracking.

We sent the documents through EMS Indonesian post with tracking and it cost around 200,000 IDR. I read reviews on outgoing service from Indonesia and most seem positive, the trouble is with incoming shipments into Indonesia. We made sure to label the package as documents and list the value under $5 USD. It took about a week to arrive in Hawaii from Bali, no problems. IMPORTANT : Make at least one duplicate of entire package before sending, we made 2 duplicates to be extra safe.

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask us. Also if you'd like to meet up and talk about the process send me a pm, we'll be in Bali until mid-June.

    Take care n Aloha!

  5. Hi there, i had my interview for K1 visa back in November and yeah i did sort the documents base on the list of the Embassy email, but you know what it didn't really matter. When i passed her my document she just went trough all of them to find what she needed. So don't get too nervous over that, everything will be ok as long as you have all the documents they required. Wish you guys the best.

    Yanti

Hi Yanti. Thank you for the advice. We'll just organize the docs by the list of the Embassy email. Wish you the best for the rest of your journey! :content:

    Kind Regards,

  6. Hi again VJ members! Quick question, we are getting ready for the K-1 visa interview next week and would like to know if the documents have to be in a specific order. I have emailed the US Embassy a few times and they haven't given a clear answer. From your experience have you set up the documents in the order of the document prepare list the Embassy has sent? or do they organize the order of documents when we are there? Thanks in advance!

    Aloha,

    Wulan & Ian

  7. Use this: -----

It can never be misinterpreted like "FNU" can.

    Thank you for replying :)

We tried entering -------, because that was what we used on the I-129F petition but with the D-160, it doesn't allow us to enter symbols, only capital letters. Have you seen any other posts on this topic? I tried searching this site but couldn't find any clear answers. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Aloha,

    Wulan

  8. Hello,

My fiance also has no surname. However, when we received our NOA 1, USCIS made his "name" into his surname and FNU (First Name Unknown) as his last name. This was the same procedure we followed for his DS-160 form.

Hi and thanks for the reply. We're just worried because the NOA1 used the middle name as the surname. We will try to inquire a bit more before completing the D-160. Again we appreciate your help. Take care!

    Aloha,

    Wulan

  9. Hi again VJ members :dancing:

I am filling out the D-160 application for my K-1 visa, in the section asking for surname what should I enter? I only have a first and middle name, no surname. In given name I wrote my first and middle name same as 'Full Name in Native Alphabet'.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to experienced members replies :reading:

    Aloha,

  10. Aloha again VJ members! We received our NOA2 approved and now waiting for the packet 3. My first question is what original documents need to be taken to the interview? There are a lot of confidential documents that have to be sent and I'm worried with the postal service in Indonesia, as the last 2 shipments have been lost. If the original birth certificate for the petitioner and co-sponsor, along with originals of W-2, tax returns, bank statements, have to be sent, what is the safest option to send it to a country that's known for losing mail?

If there are any members who have gone through the process in Indonesia, would be especially interested in your experiences and feedback.

Thank you in advance and wish all members the best with their visa process!

  11. I have not found a thread for just Indonesia, so I thought I would start one. My fiance and are at the NVC waiting stage currently. It seems like Indonesia is pretty fast at processing things at the embassy stage. Anyone have any stories to share?

Hi and thanks for starting a thread for Indonesia! Wow, documents were processed really fast for you, amazing!! Did you have any issues or did things go very smoothly? Any tips for us?

We just got our NOA1 on 2015-12-11 and hoping it will also be processed quickly.

Glad to hear things are going well for you and good luck with your interview :D

  12. Welcome! And, yes. Just wait for your NOA2. If they need more information from you, they'll send an RFE (request for information), before an approval is issued.

Thank you! I'll be waiting patiently for the NOA2. I went through your timeline and was amazed at your processing times! Was there a reason you were able to blaze through your visa process? Your interview took only 96 days from NOA1, amazing!

Congratulations btw and good luck with the rest of your Visa Journey!

  13. Yes you need to wait. Current processing time depends on the service center. Have you read the guides on this website? If not go ahead and do so, there is a wealth of information here that will be useful .

You can also check out my timeline to gauge for I-129F processing and also K1 visa specifically for Indonesia.

Our timelines are a bit similar to each other. Good luck

Hi and thanks for the reply! I've gone through the guides and through the forums but just wanted to make sure and hear from members who have gone through the process, so I appreciate your input. The processing time for your I-129F was quite long for you, over 5 months!

Glad to see your nearing the end of the Visa Journey :)

  14. Aloha VJ members!

I'm a new member but have found the information very helpful on this site, so thank you VisaJourney.

This is my first post and just a simple question. I have received the receipt for the 1st NOA for my K-1 petition and the only instructions I see is to contact USCIS if there are any personal information changes. If there are no changes should I just wait for the 2nd NOA to see if it's approved?

    Thanks in advance yall!
