I think you need to wait when it's outside their posted processing time, otherwise they would just respond another excuse of "within the posted processing time...etc.." .  If they're interviewing some January filers, probably those cases have already cleared BC before yours.  On my case though, I'm over 90 days outside the processing time of my local FO (in a different State), although Level 2 told me my status is "in-line" when I called Nov. 24 but until now still waiting for interview letter.  I filed 2 SR online due to outside processing time but didn't help anything at all, no clear response.

thank you. Yes, I better wait. Do you know when you had your background check completed?

  2. I start to get very frustrated. I finally cleared BG check in September and it had been three months since clearance but no news. Infopass didn't bring anything. On the website the processing time for St. Paul/Minneapolis is October 12, but the officer at Infopass told me that they interview people now who filed in January. I asked why I'm still behind if I filed before, but she said that it's because my BG took long.

Shall I contact senator or better wait until my case if "officially" outside of processing times? I'm waiting 12.5 months now :(

I still haven't received a letter though. This date was told to me by a USCIS officer, when i called. Should i be worried about ? not receiving the letter as of now. Kind of getting sad.. i think they might cancel it.. Why the letter is not showing up ?

Hi! congratulations on your case finally moving forward! did the L2 officer tell you the date or just the customer representative? I was finally put inline on 9/18 but since then no news. The online status that I was put in line was only updated after 1.5 months (middle October) so I worry that because of the delay of online updates I might miss the notice, but nothing came in the mail yet.

    thanks!

Please somebody update: I was put in line on 9/18/17. thanks!

Hey @L0bster00 I know the process can be frustrating but hang in there! Have you tried calling USCIS yet? I think it is reasonable to inquire as to why your case is not in-line to be scheduled for an interview. Call everyday if you have to and hope that you will get someone who's willing to help. Of course, being nice with the agent over the phone can sometimes get you further too.

I'm waiting for inline too and today I called them and they said I should be "in line" but the online status sometimes doesn't update, they also said my case is not in NBC anymore, but in St. Paul local office, that means it is inline. So that's what they told me. Maybe it's the same for you. I guess just call them one more time and see if you can hit a more friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had better luck this time.

@janadark && @N400wait, Guys, i gave my FP 12/5/16. I am also stuck in FP Schedule. I am thinking to give up on this #######. I want to update my spouse case from F2A to CR-1. This N-400 application is taking shitty long!

Maybe we should try call them and try to get to second tier officer? There was somebody here who called and the next day their case moved forward to inline.

My wife filed her N-400 in November 2016 (PD: Nov 14, 2016). Her Biometrics was Dec 2nd, 2016. So far no update in the case status. Case status shows "Fingerprint Appointment was scheduled". Is it enough time now to do any enquiry? It has been around 3+ months since biometrics. I also checked in the phone app that most of the Nov 14th cases are showing the same status i.e. finger printing appointment was scheduled. Cases after this date have either in-line or interview scheduled  status.

Thanks for any information in advance.

I did my fingerprints n 12/27 and also still waiting for "inline". When I called they told me the average processing time is 4-6 months.  Also the officer didn't understand what I meant by the status in line for interview. I wouldn't bother if I would be inline already.

Thank you for your update. When i should contact USCIS with an inquiry ? What should i ask them ?

Honestly, I don't know, I contacted them a while ago (just called general number, but it was no help). I guess have to reach the second tier officer... I also figured that if the case is not inline yet, it's still in NBC and not field office, so the field office processing times don't matter at this point, but i'm not definitely sure. I decided for myself I will wait at least 5 months from the submittal (so I will wait two more months) and then I will call and maybe try the senator.

Today i complete 3 months since FP and still in FP Schedule status. Is it time for me to freak out ? What should i do ? Please help.

I'm waiting for inline also, but it's a bit beyond 2 months now. I know I'm crazy, but I went to case status and checked like 20 numbers before and after myself and what the status was saying ( just changed the last two digits of my number) and I found that they sort of processed always on the same dates. Those who are still in FP status always have either December 13th or December 5th when their fingerprint appointment was scheduled, and those who have been in line already, also have always specific dates. So it looks like they process like a batch at one time on one day. There were a few numbers behind me who are still in the same status as i'm and quite a few after me in the same status and with the same date. This sort of calms me down, though  I know it's crazy.

Well based on your green card date, I assume you are filing based on the 3 year rule. So you actually hit 3 years today. Hopefully you hear something today and you are in line. To your earlier question about Senator, you have to check the USCIS processing page and once that date has been exceeded and you are not processed then you would have a case to contact your senator. St. Paul looks to be processing things well so hopefully soon you will hear something. All the best.

I hope so too. Thank you! Yes, I file under 3-year rule.
