  1. I am the U.S. citizen, and my husband just recently received his green card. My husband is from the Dominican republic, where he was a 5 year old son. We want to obtain a travel visa for his son. (the child's mother Doesn't want the son to live in USA, but is willing to let him visit often, the child doesn't speak english, and That is the best choice for all involved) ... What do we need to do, to get the son a visa since his mother is in the Dominican (and she has previously been denied a travel visa) and the boy's father is a green card holder in America. (every page I found only talks about follow to join, which is not what we want to do) , thank you for any advice!

  2. Happy New Year to everybody, keep your heads up if you are still waiting. My husband & I are silly and made a video for the long year of craziness that we have endured. We tried to capture all of the good moments to keep our minds off of the anxiety that this process brings. If anybody wants to watch our journey I linked it below. Thank you guys for all of the help and support this year :)

  3. Hi Everyone, Congratations to those who have received their conditional green card and good luck to those who are still in this prcoess. I was thinking I was the only one left behind in getting EAD but thankfully everything worked pretty amazing for me in the end and received EAD/AP CARD last week.

Now waiting for any progress to happen on I-485!!! I was wondering, does anyone has any Idea what will be our estimate interview date for AOS (I-485 Petiton). We file in July 25, 2016, recieved RFIE on Sep 19 and they received our response on Oct 31, our field office is Washington D.C? I have very bad luck getting replies from people here but i hope this time someone may reply...lol Thanks

We got green card approval 2 and a half months after they received our rfe

  4. For those ahead of me and those who just got the word we have been approved... What is the social security card discussion all about? We filed and had gotten a social security card for my husband 1 week after his arrival into America. Do we just take his green card ( when we receive it ) and his social security card (that has work limitations written on it) back to the SS office and get a new one? Also what does that have to do with the driver center?

  5. Hello all,

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

From my timeline and signature you can see that we applied on July 20th for AOS and EAD.

The EAD was approved and received in mid-late October. I guess the next thing we're waiting for to proceed is the Interview.

What are the guidelines for the processing times of the AOS?

Should we call USCIS to see what stage we're in? If so, where do we call? I see a lot of numbers posted here in the forum but where would we specifically call? We never had any RFIEs or RFEs, so we are assuming we included all of the requested evidence.

    Any other ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Stefano

I actually called last week (the number on our 797) and they told me just to be patient that the time frame is 6 months and there's nothing they can do. But I filed the second week of july, and had an rfe and just got my status update today that the card is being produced (we received the work card mid October) my friend applied july 1 and she got the card being produced message last week... So I think it's safe to bet you will be this week or next

Congratulations, so happy for you two! And happy thanksgiving to you too!

    Thank you !! ??

  6. beyond Frustrated. just wasted half of an hour on the phone with a representative that told me to call back in 46 days that he couldn't give me other any info since i'm within normal processing times. ( Filed July 8, they got the response to RFE on Sept 8) i'm happy for you guys that are getting green cards, just secretly jealous.

For those who are seeing "card being produced" where are you guys seeing it ? On the USCIS case website under cases?

  7. Memphis is the only one in Tennessee. Atlanta would be closer but i'm not sure if that is an option.... really hoping we don't have to have an interview but I'm not a lucky person so i wouldn't put money on it lol

I dont know. We just got the text update, nothing in the mail yet. I went through all my paperwork and what they wanted from the last rfe and cant find anything we missed.

The only difference is it says "request for additional evidence" so maybe they need clarification on something.

Meg is there a local office near you, or will you have to drive to Memphis for the interview?

  8. 4 days will make 60 days since they have received our response to RFE... still pressing along. We did get my husband's EAD card in the ail in October, I see all these posts about going to the social security office. We went and got him a SS card on his second week of being in the states. Am i supposed to take him, with his EAD card, and his old SS card back to the SS office to get a new one?

  9. Well, on the positive note for you, at least you knew already they got yout RFE response.

While on my case, i didnt even know if it already touches the table of the officer. All i know it's delivered on Oct 11.

What field office did you send your rfe response by the way?

On the brighter side though, i got my EAD 2 weeks ago. ???

i never got an EAD :( i sent mine to Lee's Summit Missouri. I really don't care about the EAD honestly, I just want everything to go smoothl. RFE's are of the devil !

  10. i never heard of any update to my case almost two weeks after sending a response for an RFE. I dont know if they already touched it nor received it. My hopes depend on the USPS tracking that it was delivered in Charlotte NC field office.

Others say it's normal. But im praying a change in case status would somehow be, "Response to RFE received".

    ?????

i sent my RFE papers back on September 2, They "received my RFE response" on september 8, and I've had no change whatsoever. They say that 60 days for a RFE is normal, and that it is considered normal. but I'm getting antsy, i feel your pain.

  11. Hey everybody, I filed for AOS and AED on July 8, 2016 with a NOA date of July 15, 2016. We had our biometrics appointment on August 10, 2016...I did get an RFE for leaving a section blank on my AOS paperwork, I received the RFE on August 23, 2016 (My birthday,, such a terrible present to receive! ) I took my time and hopefully filled the papers out correctly.. I sent the RFE response to the center as requested, and the received the response on Septempter 8, 2016. Since then, I have heard nothing. I know it has only been 6 weeks but I am just wondering if there is anything else I can be doing in the mean time. I have checked my USCIS.gov status and that is all that it tells me. It does list a receipt number for my response, but where can i put that number in to get an more information (or is that even a possibility?) Thanks for any help or advice.

  12. I am the u.s. citizen who married my Dominican fiance within 90 days, we are applying for AOS this week. His son was listed on the original forms when we filed for k1, however we didn't file a k2 at the time (baby momma drama). However, the child's mother has since got the 4 year old a passport and has requested that the child come visit with us in America for a while. Can anyone help me figure out what to do, or where to start with this next step?

  13. So I am finally done with K-1 Visa. Thanks everyone for being so helpful!

Can anyone recommend me which forums I need to browse now to prepare ourselves for SSN and AOS etc.

I need to know this also... I see flow charts, but it would be awesome to be in a group lime this for the next step of the process. My update is that we are getting married tomorrow, ( just signing papers because this process is ridiculously expensive and I'm not rich) and we are going on our honeymoon to NYC on Monday, we've had his social security card since week 2, and now I'm researching all of this civil surgeon new medical exam he is required to complete. Good luck and congrats to everyone on everything

  14. Now that he is in the US you can now take advantage of my website starting with this tab http://dennyeyberg.wix.com/filipino-am-visa#!i-94/cbm6. Work your way down the tab. Once completed, work your way down the next tab.

thank you very much, i have the page bookmarked. He arrived in the states on April 11 at night. we went to the social security office one week from his arrival (April 18). The first woman we spoke to said I don't think we can give him a SSN because he hasn't been in the states for 2 weeks, the woman in the next cubicle said, oh no they changed it they have to be in the states for 10 days now. I asked to speak to someone higher up, and she was like "what are you guys talking about, it's almost instant now there is no 10 days or 2 weeks wait anymore" So now we are waiting the 2 weeks for it to arrive in the mail, we go talk to someone for marriage counseling next week, then we will apply for the marriage license!

  15. Well looks like there's going to be another filipina in Tennessee.

Passed the interview. They said 5 to 10 days for the visa

congrats, im about 3 hours east of ya! lol

Also, ok so my man arrived here on Monday! We want to hurry up and get the ball moving onto the next process. I would like to get married within the next month, is there a forum as to what the next part looks like? I have no idea what to do lol
