  1. In care of is typically a blank reserved for situations where mail may not get to the correct person.

A rare but obvious example would be if a petitioner were experiencing intermittent dementia from Alzheimer's. When they submit the petition they understand what they are doing, but it is probably best if there is a name there of someone who can reliably handle mail from USCIS.

Thanks a lot. I think your right on that example

  2. Currently we are in the AOS stage. We got her ssn with her new married name but have not received the card. We should before we leave though. However, she does not have a DL with her new name of it. Do we just get the ticket in her name that is on the passport and visa? Even though technically her name has been changed?

This flight is from texas to Florida

    Thanks

    Kyle

  3. Sorry for the delay of replying back. Thanks for the help. We were able to get a social security number in her new married name. We lucked out and got an agent who really cared and did a few things to get it to work.

So now were are on AOS......I think someone mentioned that I should do the AOS in her new married name. Is that correct? For the I-485?

Have you had any issues not getting a SSN when she first arrived? Now you have a long wait

Sorry for the late reply. We didnt have any problems.....I just dropped the ball and didnt research the steps good enough. Luckily we just got a ssn with her new married name on it. It all worked out.

  4. Yes, I-94 is needed for the AOS package, you can find the I-94 online. As what Lioness said, you should have applied for a SS# upon her entry but you can try it again once she has her EAD or GC. Fill out the AOS in her married name and once you have one of the cards, take that with the marriage certificate as proof of the name change.

Thanks, I did get the I94 number just now. The SSN form has a place for a name to be shown on card and below it it has given name birth name. Looks like I can apply and have her new name listed on the top

  5. Hello,

Rea entered the US a couple of months ago on a K1 visa. We have now gotten married and have our marriage license. So is the next step to apply for a SSN? Does she apply for the SSN with her new surname or use the birth surname? Also, I did not get the I94. Do I still need to go through that process even though we are married?

    Thanks

  6. Our interview went really easy. We were shocked how easy it was. That is why your interview was so shocking to me when I read it. I can understand the question about the 5 days but what I don't understand is how the answer of approved or not approved was never clear. So weird. I think it was approved though. He was just being a jerk about it I think. I get to go get Rea the 10 the 10th of this month and we will be in the US the 24th.

  7. Im sorry you got such a weird interview and it seemed the person was not interested in doing a little extra like looking at the skype pages to see how in love you were. Time off is hard to come by, especially if employed. I am lucky being self employed because I got to take 2 to 3 weeks off each time I went to see Rea. But that should not matter because I have never read a minimum stay rule. I think you are good though.

I will keep you two in my prayers. Keep your chins up.....it will work out.

  8. Hello there again.

CFO will be done the 5th (Philippines time). I could had sworn I read on this site that there was a tax or fee when exiting. I know there is a normal tax that everyone pays when leaving at the airport (at least in cebu). Is there something additional? Where is it paid? I saw something about on the airline ticket but I dont know what to look for? We are flying Korean airlines

    Thanks

    Kyle

  9. We completed ours about a month ago. There was nothing inserted but my fiancee was asked to be naked and was check head to toe. Asked her to roll over so they could look at the ####### and #######. Looking for hemorrhoids and stds I am sure

  10. Thanks for the help

This is all the info I am getting from any of the links.

    U.S. Department of State
    NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Administrative Processing
Application ID or Case Number: Case Creation Date: 27-Jul-2016 Status Updated Date: 28-Jul-2016

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved after administrative processing, your passport will be delivered by our contracted courier to the address you specified when you booked your interview.

The 2go link did not work for me.....this is the one that worked for me ......http://supplychain.2go.com.ph/CustomerSupport/etrace/index.asp. Even with that we tried the UID, passport number and case number......all invalid inputs.

So I am a little concerned since it has been 10 days.

  11. We are on the 10th day now. We have tried mnl, UID, and passport numbers on the 2go site. Neither comes back with a valid entry.

I have gotten no emails either. Where do I need to go to find out what is going on?

    Thanks

    Kyle

  12. Thanks everyone.

Yeah greenbaum it makes more sense now after going through the interview that they would not have to necessarily have so much on going relationship documents but we were still happy we were over prepared than under hahaha

  13. Thanks. A little over six months. Would had been quicker if we did not delay making an appointment once we got an email from the embassy. We assumed we had to wait for a packet to be mailed. We now know to make a payment for the interview soon after the email and then register for an appointment date for the interview

  14. Thanks so much to the wonderful people on this forum. We would had not made it without the help we received on this forum. It took us a little over 6 months to get here from the mailing of the 129 packet.

For the interview. It was a cake walk. They asked about birthdays and how we met. The interviewer looked at the 129 packet I submitted and looked at a few photos. He asked how we were introduced again and Rea told him it was through a family friend. He said ok.... congratulations.....your approved. What is weired he did not look at any of our on going relationship documents and did not even ask for any financial documents proving my income. Actually he didn't even ask for the financial form I had to fill out and sign. We were a little shocked regarding that. But we are very relieved to be past that step of this journey.

Now we are on CFO. She is closer to the Cebu one. I am just starting to research. Any tips would be appreciated

    Thanks again to everyone.

    Kyle and Rea

  15. I have sent my fiancée a copy of my tax return. I do make more than the minimum requirements.

I am a sole proprietor of a contracting business.

How official do they have to be if I need them? Can they be printed off from online? Do I just need deposits?

    Thanks Kyle
