  1. So we went all the way through the process, up until the interview for the IR1 (married for over two years at that point).  We had a sponsor who had to drop out last minute so at the interview they gave us a year to find a new sponsor.  We didn't find one and from my understanding the case was thrown away at that point, but I may be mistaken, I can't find the paperwork.  I'm doing a little better now and thinking of returning home to try and work and sponsor him myself (something I was incapable of a few years ago when this started).  So, would we need to start the process over, from the i 130, or is it possible that we could just start by me sending in the sponsorship papers if and when I meet the requirements next year at tax time?  I thought of doing it all over again is a little exhausting, tbh.  Especially if it turns out I'm not well enough to work and meet requirements, thus doing it all for nothing.  Thanks.

  2. Cross-posted from NVC forum due to no responses there....

I live in my husband's country with him.  We've just got the welcome letter from NVC via email about a week ago.  I'm wondering if there is a clear advantage to choosing someone back home as an agent, rather than choosing myself?  What will they send via snail mail to the agent?  Will they send it via email also?  Our mail here is usually reliable (only one thing that didn't arrive in three years I've lived here), so it's not an issue of worrying it won't arrive, but more an issue of how long stuff takes to get here.  I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I didn't find an answer to it, only on how to choose an agent.  Thank you.

  3. We are, God-willing, getting close to the NOA2 so I am trying to make sure I know what I need from my co-sponsor when we get the the NVC stage.

I know the tax transcript is preferable to the actual return so I'm not worried about that but my concern is the w2.  I don't feel comfortable to ask for the original w2 to be sent for the interview.  I know we are okay to send a copy with the i864 to the NVC.  Has anyone just sent a copy to the interview also?  Will they even look at the financial information at the interview?  Will they delay us and make us bring back the original later?

I'm having the same problem. I tried fixing it by doing what you did a couple of times but it didn't work for me :(

Anyone else know why my case won't show up on Igor's List for the Nebraska Processing Times ?

    thanx

You are currently showing up at #15 on the recently approved list.  Also, if you switch show approved instead of unapproved (like in my picture), you also show up currently at the 104 spot :)

  5. Yes, I'm aware that he can't file until a minimum of three years.  My questions is that if I were to leave after a period (e.g. one year or something) to come back to take care of his parents, would he be able to file citizenship at some point in the future?  I know it is at least three years and for people without green card by marriage five years.  We would still be married, just living separately and he would have the continuous residency in America as he wouldn't be leaving, just me.

  6. I'm the USC in our relationship.  We are currently living in my husband's country.  We've filed the I 130 but haven't made it to NOA2 yet.  This is for the future but we are trying to make plans that may be greatly affected by this.....

My in-laws are fairly old and not in the best of health, especially my MIL.  It is possible that in the near future they will need help with day to day life.  They have only my husband and his sister, she lives with them.  She isn't very reliable or helpful unless it's something she wants.  Basically, we wouldn't feel good about leaving her responsible for taking care of them.

What is going to happen if we get to the States and in some time, I need to return here to take care of them?  My husband will, God-willing, be working in America so it won't be possible for him to do it.  He will have a 10 year GC if/when we go as we've been married over two years now.

So, if we get there and a year later I come back to take care of my in-laws, will he be able to file for citizenship later if we aren't physically living together?  Sorry if this has been cover but I haven't found anything new about it, but I did find something on Avvo saying that the requirements changed in 2013 so I would like to get some confirmation, please.

    Thank you for your time.

  7. We've only just sent in the I 130, haven't even received NOA1 yet, but I want to make sure things are set for smooth sailing down the line.  So this is the situation....

My husband and I are living in Tunisia (his country).  When I came he left his hometown for our current town as there were better options for school for my daughter here.  He never updated his address with anyone so legally it appears that he still lives in his hometown.  Is this going to be a problem down the line that we have an address on all our paperwork that he's never been registered at?  I'm thinking about what's going to happen when we get to the point of the police checks and whatnot.  Any information would be appreciated.  Thank you.

  8. Just updating in case anyone else makes this mistake.  The package was transferred to DHL this morning.  I called them with the tracking number and they were able to change it in their system so it should, God-willing, go to the physical address instead of the PO box.  So if you make the same mistake I did, just try calling the carrier and see if they can help you.

  9. Good morning.  First off, please be nice because I'm already so upset with myself for messing up something so stupid.

We mailed our I 130 petition yesterday afternoon.  We mailed it from Tunisia using their express delivery (Rapid Poste).  I believe this service partners with DHL if I'm not mistaken.  Anyway, I addressed the package to the Chicago Lockbox PO box address instead of the one they say to use for express and courier deliveries.  On the website for Rapid Poste is does say that it can't be sent to a PO box but they accepted it anyway.  I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this?  Are they going to send it back and we need to resend it?  Will they leave it with the post office for USCIS to sign for when they go pick up the mail (I know UPS has left stuff with the post office when I was living in Texas before)?  If it a common error that they will forward it to the correct place?  I am really stressed out about this and any help would be appreciated.  Thank you, Jessica.

  10. I'm sure this has been covered on here before but I want to make sure.  We found a joint sponsor and I want to make sure I send them the right forms.  Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that I need to file an i864 with my information even if I can't sponsor him myself, and my question is, if she is using her and her husband's income to meet the requirements, do they fill out two i864A forms or one fills out i864 and one fills out i864A?  I think it's one of each but I want to make sure.

  11. I've been out of work for a number of years and not needed to file any tax documents.  I'm wondering if I return to work, do I need to work the whole year and file a return before I can file the affidavit of support or can I file after I have some payslips showing I'm making enough and maybe a letter from my employer?  I hope this makes sense, any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

  12. Lol, I know right! I can't even imagine! She is under a lot of stress right now and from talking to her the other day, she is not the same, I'm a little worried about her mental health. I'm hoping this is the reason that she is being such a ###### about this, and REALLY hoping she will get some help with her stress issues cause it's starting to effect her life a lot.
