  1. Hello Everyone,

I have a long and complecated story that probably won't fit into this message ,so i'll try to shorten it up by making the main point, thnks.

Well,i am very concerned about certain things and have questions.

I am Naturalized American Citizen Has been Naturalized about 3 years ago due to the marriage with my x-husband.

He actually divorced me for the reasons that i am way too high maintnance as he used to sau and according to his words i brought him to financial disaster and he couldn;t handle it anymore.

Though, i used to work and my career was going up during the times i was married to my x-husband.

After the divorce i have gotten some lump sum of money from my x-husband .

I was very upset by getting divorced with him,i didn;t want to change my life,i used to live a very good life durig the time i was married to him and we had lots of fun together, but after the divorce i've got frastruated ,concerned, scared to be alone without a permanent house and more then that o had to manage and take care of my bills which was very stressful for me,because my x-husband used to take care of my bills in the past.

Only probably someone who is from another country may understand what i mean,as i americans who were born in US probably dont understand because they've used to take care of themselves since they were born and they all have relatives or families in the US they can always tlak to in case of the emergency and they can help them.

I am not trying to look helpless or weak person or anything like that ,,,not at all.More then that ia m very strong person and i've accomplished a lot during few years in Us.,but i have lost everything very easily and dont know where to start now.So to continuoe the story

I had to leave the career i was working on in the city where my x-husband and i were residing at ,becuase i felt very upset thinking about the house i used to live in and my x-husband who used to cook dinners for me sometimes, basically the life i used to live or my x-husband and all the stuff togehter.,i just couldnt work anymore .I didn't go to divorce in court ,everything was conducted on the phone ,becuase my x -husband convineced me that if we going to show up in court in person and do these divorce procedure i am not goignt o get any money at all.He said that he is goign to give me certain amount of $ without goign to court so i can leave on pretty well.

I was so naive to listen to what he was saying and didnt go to court mthe judge allowed us to finish the procedure via phone.

I am pissed off at him right now that he lied to meabotu everything ,but from another hand should i be mad at him ?,as maybe i've destoyed my life with my own hands?

So to continuoe the sotry i just wanted to leave so bad,to move to another State where i could start my new life at.

I finally moved to another State and since then was constantly making the wrong decisions .

I went to work for the firm which financially destroyed me. Then at the same time i've met a guy who later on turned out to be avery jealous ,controlling ,possesive and paranoid person. He has got very obssesd with me and stocking me everywhere. In the beginning our reltionship was great but the longer we've dated each other the more he was acting obsessive and controlling. He was physically handsome and proffesional and i fell inlove with him.

Unfortunately he turned out not the guy ive met at first. As i can say people can be a very good actors.

To make my story short ,ive got pregnant from him and i was happy about that part but i had do leave the guy due to his crazy attitude.

He doesent know anything ive changed all the numbers and etc...

I had to come back to the State i used to reside at with my x-husband in order to that guy i used to date not to find me.

Ive stayed 1 more year in that State at my friend;s house and delivered a beautiful baby.

BY the time ive delivered the baby i had to spend the rest of the money i had from the divorce with my x-husband,

So at the end of everything ,i ended up stayin at my friend's house with a newborn baby and applied for a wellfare food stamps and medical insurance.

I am very happy by having a baby and i am goign to do my best to fix my financial situation.

Though currently ive decided to take a break and go back to my home country with my baby for few month where my parents are helping me with the baby and where i can build the future plans about my career and personal life.

I have a return ticket to United States in a few more month.

My main question is do you think my citizenhsip be revoked due to financial crisis ive currently got myself to?

I have a Naturalization certificate and Us Passport and my baby was born in US,

How long can i stay abroad without jeapordizing my Citizenship Status?

I love US ,but i had to coem back to my home country for a few month to take a break and to start everything all over again.

    Thank you .

  2. Can anyone tell me where I can get a Naturalization CD w/142 questions for the new pilot test being issued? Is there a place that will send you this for free or will you have to pay for it no matter what?

    HI !

I have been given the Naturalization CD plus the study book together ,by the officer, after ive taken my fingerprints at the fingerprint office.

They probably should issue that to you over there too,

I was sent to take a fingerprints to Alberquesrque, though we are residing in Colorado.... :hehe:

    Sincerely.

    Best wishes (F)

  3. Update:

03/29/07 - Sent N-400 to NSC (certified mail)

    04/03/07 - NSC recieves N-400

    04/05/07 - Check for $400 clears

04/16/07 - Received NOA in mail

    05/03/07 - Biometrics

    08/29/07 - Interview

Yes,Denver seems to be working fast ,it took 5 month for me to get Naturalized.

    You guys almost there!

Interview and then the Oath Ceremony letter. It might take 1 month to receive an Oath Ceremony letter invitation after the interview,so don't be surprised, its normal.

    Best wishes (F)

  4. Hi Guys again,

I am probably getting paranoid about stuff ,but i hope that you understand why i am getting this way ,because its really Scary to entrust your Naturalization Certificate to the employee of the Post Office for to send it to the Passport Agency.

So,the thing is that i went to our local post office today and i didn't get very lucky with the postman employee there i think, because i could tell that he was new at that and new as employee as i haven't met him working there before.

I've got an impression that he didn't know what he was doing and i got really nervous about it.

To say honestly i really wanted to go talk to another more experienced post office employee there, but you know, i didn't do that because i thought it would be really rude of me to do that towards that guy.As you know ,you can't choose who you gonna be working with as there is a line of people standing at the post office and you can't choose the postman you wanna talk to as everyone get to talk to the postman according to the line order.

Well,to make the story short ,

First of all, he took the most ugly and horrible passport photo of myself i ever seen....LOL

I have paid $205 total . $143 -money order check was included plus the 2 express enevlopes packages charge.

I've got really fricked out when the Postman was about to staple my newly taken passport photo to the Original Naturalization Certificate.

I told him not to to that! Thanks God!

Then he put my application, picture,Naturalizaton Certificate and return express envelope into the Express Envelope i was sending the stuff in.

So,at the end he didn't Seal the Express Envelope and ive asked him why he doesent seal it?

He said that he needs to fill out some kind of a transmission form later and only then he is going to seal the envelope.

So he has basically taken away my unsealed express mail envlope somewhere in the back, together with my Original Naturalization Certificate.!!!

I am fricking out all day long since then. :crying::help: What if my Naturalization Certificate is gonna fall out from the envelope,or someone is gonna take it out or if this guy is going to forget to fill out the transmission form he was talking about as he said he was gonna do it later and if he forgets about it and then going to leave the envleope unsealed.

I was really mad,i think i should off talk to someone more experienced there and shouldn't off affraid of being rude to someone, but i didn't do that and left everything as it was.

So if my Naturalization Ceritificate is gonna be lost? Whats gonna happen if its gonna be lost?

    I am so worried now.

    I appreciate your concern.

    Thanks.

    Best wishes. (F)

  5. thanks for the replies! Time to look for an immigration attorney...

And, jenn3539, alcohol is not a "controlled substance." I think in the act, the controlled substance is marijuana, pot etc..stuff that's actually banned in US.

also, does the fact that I am only 21 help me by any chance in the citizenship process? :\

The Citizenship process length is probably equal for everyone any age.

  6. About a month ago, I received a summon for "Furnishing alcohol to a minor," which is a misdemeanor class D crime. I have pleaded not guilty and still in the process of talking with my lawyer more about the case.

I was wondering if this will impact my citizenship process, as I am a green card holder and was considering applying for US Citizenship soon. I have been in the US for almost eight years.

    thanks for your replies.

There is a high precentage that its gonna be a problem, but you must disclose everything in the Naturalization application.

  7. Hi.

This is my first post here.

I understand that I will probably need to discuss this with a lawyer and don't hold anyone to anything I hear here.

My boyfriend has been living in the US illegally for more than 10 years. I want to marry him and have a family but wonder if it's just too much of a headache.

It seems possible that opening ourselves to scrutiny is just asking for trouble and maybe we shouldn't bother. Presumably even if he goes back to Mexico and pretends that he was never here to begin with and we apply for a fiancee visa the lack of a paper trail there will be an issue?

Sorry if I sound like a jerk. It'ssurprisingy hard to find info about this.

I'd appreciate any help anyone might be able to offer. Thanks.

Though,i think that illegal residence in the U.S is not a good idea and equals to a fraudulent acts.

Though,i've heard that George Bush would really like to legalize all of the illegal immigrants for the purpose that the goverment is gonna be more secure in this position and won't have to pay wellfares and other means tested benefits to illegals. Not sure what is that exactly going on ,but something like that.

Still, illegal residence is not a good idea and your fiancee may face 10-20 years penalty not coming back to the U.S. for any reason, when he or she come back to mexico.

    Consult an immigration attorney.

    HI !

I've heard that there is a kind of law in United States about that if you live in U.S. even illegally for 10 years you are eligible or even automatially can become a U.S.citizen.,but i guess you still need to file papers for that anyways. So,there is no need for your fiancee to go back to the home country i think. Your fiancee should defenetely go and consult with immigration attorney first. At least most of the attorneys consultations are free.So at least you will know what to expect in your fiancee case.

Probably its gonna be a problem as furnishing alcohol to a teenagers is illegal in this country.

Though,i don't know the exact circumstances. You should defenetely consult an attorney.

  10. Hi Guys!

I have a question where to apply for american passport?

    At the post office?

I had a chance to apply yesterday after the Ceremony in Denver, but we didn't do that.

So we came back home to the small town in Colorado and seems the only place to apply for the passport here is the Post Office.

How long does the Process takes? Up to 7 weeks?

Or the Passport Application States if i pay and expedited Fee of $ 157 they will process the application in a 3 days? Does it mean if i pay extra money my passport is gonna be ready in a 3 days?

Also, there is a question section in the application where they wanna know about the date of my trip.

Is it really important to put a date of the trip there? The thing is that i am not planning to go anywhere during the next month or two,but just would like to have a passport ready, just in case.

Are they going to be ok with issuing passport without me having a particular date of my future trip?

What should i write in that section? Soon?...or should i live it blank?...

    I appreciate your concern.

  14. Hi Guys!

I have a question.I am really concerned about why i still haven;t received an Oath Ceremony letter?.. : :(

My Naturalization Interview has beed conducted on May 3 ,I was approved and the officer told me that i am going to receive the Oath Ceremony letter soon. I am beginning to getting to worry where is that and if that long waiting is normal or not? It hasn't arrived yet. :crying:

Can anyone give me any idea whats happening?

    Thank you.

    I apprecate your concern.

  15. Hmm, here's my question. Once I have sent out my N-400 form and done my biometrics, can i actually leave the US to embark upon a study program in the UK? Of course, I plan to be back for my interview. Can you think of any potential requirement that stops me from doing this? All the requirements for continuous residence etc. I can think of are in relation to the pre-N 400 application period, is there anything I'm missing>

    Thanks,

    Boston Chick

    Hi !

I think it is a problem.

You shouldn't go travel while your Naturalization is pending. They have rules about it somewhere.

Wait 5 month till you get Naturalized and then go travel.

  16. Hi Everyone!

I would like to share my todays interview experience.I came to the interview with my husband ,the officer didn't let him in with me to the conversation room,so he was left in the lobby.

I was held in the conversation room for for 40 minutes where the officer asked me a tones of interesting questions :) In the begining, i thought my aplication is gonna be denied because the officer told me it was filed 2 days earlier then it supposed to be and i didnt count the days correctly as February has 28 days, though i was actually filing on January.

So,i was about to cry there and very stressed and really thought thats it and will have to refile again.

The officer went to talk to the lawyer next door or somewhere over there and came back with the good news that everything is fine.

I was happy to hear that! Then,i ve been asked to provide different types of evidence,as recent bills, recent pictures of my husband and i togehter, tax returns for the year of 2004,2005 and especially for the year of 2006,different questions were asked about my life with my husband and etc..

Well, that was a pleasure to talk about it as i didnt have anything to hide and was telling what it was and we ended up with conversation about my parents .

I have been also asked to write a 3 sentences in English, then read another 3 sentences in English and then i signed the New Test taking form ,consisting form 145 questions and the officer asked me just 10 questions and i scored 100%.

So ,finally i was approved and my Oath Ceremony going to take place at the end of June ,according to the words of the officer.

So,2 more month to wait till to become a Citizen!

    Ok i'll end it here.

    Best wishes. (F)

    CONGRATULATIONS!

What were the 10 questions you were asked in your interview, from the 145 questions?

    :)

    Hi !

I can't remember all 10 ,but here are some of them i;ve been asked like...

    - Who is the Vice President now?

-What does " We the People" mean in the Constitution?

-Name one right or freedom from the First Amendment

    - What did the Declaration of Indpendence do?

-Name two Cabinet level positions and etc.....cant remember all of the questions...

    Hope ive helped some.

    Best wishes. (F)

  18. Sounds good, though I never had to bring any of my multitude of traffic tickets as none were DUI or over $500 which was a good thing, or I'd have a big ordeal trying to track down everything from all over the country where I got a ticket ha ha.

I also brought some pics and stuff as well, but that might have been over doing it as he didn't even look at anything of mine really including the tax forms I got mailed to me. So you should be pretty straight forward then and shouldn't have any difficulty...

Thank you guys for your help!

    I apprecaite that !
