I think a lot of people are making a mistake here for Part 6 Item 2. This is your CURRENT income which you THINK YOU'LL EARN in the current year. There is no where to get this number except your BEST GUESS. This is copied from the I-864 instructions: "Enter your current, individual, earned or retirement, annual income that you are using to meet the requirements of this affidavit and indicate the total in the space provided.
You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You are not required to submit this evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to do so by a U.S. Government official. For example, you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer’s address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary. You may also provide pay stubs showing your income for the previous six months. If your claimed income includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income, or income from any other source, you may also include evidence of that income."

I was in the same boat as you a month ago. You can truly tell by this who is her real friends. Let me tell you that once you ask, and they refuse, the "friendship" is usually never going to be the same. But at least she will weed out who is her true friends. Luckily, I found a long time friend who was willing to help without any hesitation.
One of my other "friend" found someone for me who wanted some "incentive" to help if you know what I mean. I told them "I'll think about it."
If she really can't find anyone, perhaps this is your last resort. Not sure if it's legal though but I would assume it is since they are going to willingly sign a contract, with some motivation of course.

How do you know it's illegal? It's not like I pointed a gun to them and forced them to sign the form. They were simply willing to sign after some "convincing." And they are still at risk if they are sued. Its not like they fake signed it. The contract is 100% enforceable.
You're right that I wouldn't do it for ANY friend. But for very close friends, I would definitely not have a problem with. It is no different then lending someone large amounts of money and you only have their word that they'll pay you back, which I have done many times for my close friends knowing they have the power to pay it back.
And you do realize that they would actually have to go though the process of suing you to get any money. Well, if someone is willing to sue a friend who help brought your husband/wife over, then I must say they really aren't someone who deserved the help.

My advice is that she finds a better job. If she doesn't make enough to support her 3 kids and you now, you're all going to end up on government assistance.
