Do you have I-90 on a file?
Sorry you have to go through this hell. It is expected from USCIS.
Have you tried getting an ADIT stamp in your passport?
We have an I-90. We just can't find it. It's been misplaced from moving. We've even moved a second time since this BS went down, and I can't even change the address again because of issues logging in. I have to have document proof for my spouse for a Department of Energy job, and I can't get the information.

I have tried over and over and over to get information on my wife's 10-year Green Card. It's been over 5 years since we filed. USCIS sent her Green Card after waiting over a year for it to a previous address that we were forced out of by property management in order to renovate the apartment. After over a year of waiting they finally get off their butts and send it at the same time we are being kicked out. We changed our address immediately, but it was too late. Trying to even get a document number for proof for my federal employment has been a pain in the ###. I don't know where to turn. I can't log-in online at myUSCIS because they won't send me a verification code. I'm losing opportunities because of this #######, and it's pissing me off. I don't think it's fair that USCIS decides to send a very important document over the mail 18 months after applying at exactly the same time we are being kicked out of our apartment.

Hi, guys. I'm trying to help a friend of mine with his K-1 visa process. His fiance' in Indonesia needs help obtaining a police clearance from Singapore, but everything I've seen said it could take 6 months to process and that there's no guarantee they would even process it.
She doesn't have 6 months. Her DS-160 was recently submitted.

No, that was the date you were supposed to get married by. As long as you did you may file AOS whenever you wish. Even years from now (obviously the latter is not advisable as she wouldn't be able to work and travel in the meantime).
Awesome. We did get married before then. On the application it also asks for the USCIS Current Status. Would I just put "K-1 Fiance" even though we are married? Or something else? K-1 Nonimmigrant?
-
So my wife's I-94 "Admit to" date ended on the 15th of December. I'm assuming this is what we are supposed to fill out for the I-94 expiration date for the I-485? Do we need to apply for another I-94 before we file the AOS?
-
We finally figured it out. The email address has to be the one we used for her in submitting the original petition.
The K-1 and K-2 visas are listed under "Immigrant Visa" when selecting a visa type.
-
Okay, I finally was able to add a profile picture, but how do I upload additional photos?
-
Has anyone experienced problems creating a profile to pay for the visa?
At this website: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com
It won't let my fiance create a profile. I even tried to start it for her, and I couldn't do it either. It kept giving an error. Not only that, there's no contact information available in case you have issues with the website. What should we do?
By the way, my fiance got the second letter from the Consulate yesterday. Where does that go on my timeline?

If my fiance sent the DS-160 confirmation page with the other required documents to the U.S. Embassy and something has happened where a change on the DS-160 would need to be made, can we just make those corrections, reprint the new confirmation page and have her take it with her to her interview?
-
I feel dumb for asking, but it won't give me options for that on my Android.
-
You'll have to enable the document for editing. It should give you that option when you pull it up.

There's a question on the DS-160 that asks if my fiance had these vaccinations according to U.S. law. I thought the applicant had the vaccinations with the medical exam. The DS-160 has to be submitted before the medical exam can be done. What should we do here?

I heard that she might be able to renew her passport at the Indonesian Embassy in Hong Kong.
Anyone know if passports can be renewed at government embassies?
-
So I actually called for visa inquiries at the Embassy in Hong Kong and was redirected to a Visa service calling center.
The guy told me that my fiance' is exempt from that six-month stipulation because her native country is on some list, which provides exemptions for NON-immigrant visas.
Inquiring on this question, I went here:
https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#5
.....and found this under the section for K visa required documentation asking for a valid passport:
http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Six%20Month%20Club%20Update_0.pdf
Could this be what that guy is talking about? Somehow, I still feel uneasy about this.

Yeah, they won't allow her to renew her passport in Hong Kong unless she signs another one-year contract to work there as a Foreign Domestic Helper.
Would the U.S. consulate in Hong Kong accept a DI travel document to make up for the shortage on the six-month timeframe? I mean, she plans to renew her passport as soon as she returns to Indonesia in August in which that six months wouldn't be an issue, but that won't do any good for her interview with the Consulate in Hong Kong.
-
"A passport valid for six months from the intended date of entry into the U.S."
It's pretty self-explanatory. But my fiance and I are actually hitting a snag and is interested in advice.
My fiance, the beneficiary, works as a Foreign Domestic Helper in Hong Kong and is contracted there through mid-August. She is from Indonesia. Her passport expires on March 26th of next year, but her intended date of entry, which we can't change due to other circumstances, is December 4th of this year. Her passport will not meet the six-month threshold required for the interview with the Consulate in Hong Kong where she is.
She can't renew her passport in Hong Kong unless she signs another one-year contract to work there.
She can renew her passport in Indonesia, but she isn't able to do that until she returns there in August. Her interview with the Consulate is supposed to be before she leaves Hong Kong within the next month or so.
She is contacting the consulate of Indonesia to Hong Kong about it, but beyond that, we don't know what else to try and are unaware of any exceptions to that six-month stipulation requirement.

It wasn't. The only date on the only letter I got from the NVC says May 12, 2016, and the letter says NVC received the approved petition from USCIS and is now being forwarded to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Hong Kong.
I guess I don't have a receipt date.

I stand corrected. My fiance received her letter from the U.S. Embassy in Hong Kong today only four weeks after the National Visa Center sent out our petition. Somehow, I thought it would take seven weeks like one of her friends.
By the way, where do I find the date the NVC received the petition, so I can put it in my timeline? I got a letter of May 12th saying they already forwarded it to the Consulate. I'm thinking that date is when the petition left the NVC.

Where do I fill in my timelines? My fiance and I had our petition forward to the U.S. consulate about a month ago. We're currently getting a headstart on the DS-160, and based on one of her friends' timeline, I'm thinking she'll see Packet 3 from the consulate in about 2-3 weeks.

She will probably need another visa just to enter Canada so we could drive back together to the United States in which I am starting to believe that it was wishful thinking to believe I could get a round-trip ticket for me and a one-way ticket for her at a price under $1500.
-
Good point. I should have clarified. My fiance is from Indonesia and the flights would be to and from Jakarta with the starting and ending destination being the airport that offers the best deal.
-
I'm currently trying to book flights for my fiance and I (because I am going to visit her family when she comes back with me) for after she receives her visa. Anyone know if I would be able to have our flights arranged with the final destination being a Canadian airport and just do the Customs thing when we cross over from Canada into the U.S.?
The reason I ask is because airline tickets are too high for me to pay in every major city in the western U.S. from the Mountain West westward. But Vancouver International has insanely cheap international flights under $600 round-trip.
Any insight would be most appreciated!

Thank you for that information! So I have the letter from my employer, my W2s, and my tax return. I grossed over $45,000, so I should be good for a household of just me and my fiance.

We just moved again because we reached a point where it felt hopeless and wondered if moving forward with citizenship was an option, but for the sake of an NBIS processing for a DOE security clearance position, I need proof now.
