Do you have I-90 on a file?

Sorry you have to go through this hell. It is expected from USCIS.

Have you tried getting an ADIT stamp in your passport?

We have an I-90. We just can't find it. It's been misplaced from moving. We've even moved a second time since this BS went down, and I can't even change the address again because of issues logging in. I have to have document proof for my spouse for a Department of Energy job, and I can't get the information.

  2. I have tried over and over and over to get information on my wife's 10-year Green Card. It's been over 5 years since we filed. USCIS sent her Green Card after waiting over a year for it to a previous address that we were forced out of by property management in order to renovate the apartment. After over a year of waiting they finally get off their butts and send it at the same time we are being kicked out. We changed our address immediately, but it was too late. Trying to even get a document number for proof for my federal employment has been a pain in the ###. I don't know where to turn. I can't log-in online at myUSCIS because they won't send me a verification code. I'm losing opportunities because of this #######, and it's pissing me off. I don't think it's fair that USCIS decides to send a very important document over the mail 18 months after applying at exactly the same time we are being kicked out of our apartment.

  3. No, that was the date you were supposed to get married by. As long as you did you may file AOS whenever you wish. Even years from now (obviously the latter is not advisable as she wouldn't be able to work and travel in the meantime).

Awesome. We did get married before then. On the application it also asks for the USCIS Current Status. Would I just put "K-1 Fiance" even though we are married? Or something else? K-1 Nonimmigrant?

  4. Has anyone experienced problems creating a profile to pay for the visa?

    At this website: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com

It won't let my fiance create a profile. I even tried to start it for her, and I couldn't do it either. It kept giving an error. Not only that, there's no contact information available in case you have issues with the website. What should we do?

By the way, my fiance got the second letter from the Consulate yesterday. Where does that go on my timeline?

  5. So I actually called for visa inquiries at the Embassy in Hong Kong and was redirected to a Visa service calling center.

The guy told me that my fiance' is exempt from that six-month stipulation because her native country is on some list, which provides exemptions for NON-immigrant visas.

Inquiring on this question, I went here:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/family/fiance-k-1.html#5

.....and found this under the section for K visa required documentation asking for a valid passport:

    http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Six%20Month%20Club%20Update_0.pdf

Could this be what that guy is talking about? Somehow, I still feel uneasy about this.

  6. Yeah, they won't allow her to renew her passport in Hong Kong unless she signs another one-year contract to work there as a Foreign Domestic Helper.

Would the U.S. consulate in Hong Kong accept a DI travel document to make up for the shortage on the six-month timeframe? I mean, she plans to renew her passport as soon as she returns to Indonesia in August in which that six months wouldn't be an issue, but that won't do any good for her interview with the Consulate in Hong Kong.

  7. "A passport valid for six months from the intended date of entry into the U.S."

It's pretty self-explanatory. But my fiance and I are actually hitting a snag and is interested in advice.

My fiance, the beneficiary, works as a Foreign Domestic Helper in Hong Kong and is contracted there through mid-August. She is from Indonesia. Her passport expires on March 26th of next year, but her intended date of entry, which we can't change due to other circumstances, is December 4th of this year. Her passport will not meet the six-month threshold required for the interview with the Consulate in Hong Kong where she is.

She can't renew her passport in Hong Kong unless she signs another one-year contract to work there.

She can renew her passport in Indonesia, but she isn't able to do that until she returns there in August. Her interview with the Consulate is supposed to be before she leaves Hong Kong within the next month or so.

She is contacting the consulate of Indonesia to Hong Kong about it, but beyond that, we don't know what else to try and are unaware of any exceptions to that six-month stipulation requirement.

  8. A'n L'

I stand corrected. My fiance received her letter from the U.S. Embassy in Hong Kong today only four weeks after the National Visa Center sent out our petition. Somehow, I thought it would take seven weeks like one of her friends.

By the way, where do I find the date the NVC received the petition, so I can put it in my timeline? I got a letter of May 12th saying they already forwarded it to the Consulate. I'm thinking that date is when the petition left the NVC.

  9. I'm currently trying to book flights for my fiance and I (because I am going to visit her family when she comes back with me) for after she receives her visa. Anyone know if I would be able to have our flights arranged with the final destination being a Canadian airport and just do the Customs thing when we cross over from Canada into the U.S.?

The reason I ask is because airline tickets are too high for me to pay in every major city in the western U.S. from the Mountain West westward. But Vancouver International has insanely cheap international flights under $600 round-trip.

Any insight would be most appreciated!
